He bought the Clippers for 2 billion, in the second biggest market in the US. Phoenix got sold this year for 4 billion, I'd say Balmer was ahead of the game on this one.

Joe Lacob and Peter Guber bought Golden St. for $450 million which at the time was the highest price and a few years later Ballmer buys the Clippers for $2 billion. Crazy thing is that Golden St. is worth $8.2 billion now. Not bad for a $450 million investment

If you think about it, he never owned any company, he was just an employee that rose up the ranks. Granted, he came during Microsoft's startup days, and was given substantial shares (which was his initial main source of wealth). He got lucky with joining them, but he also worked hard in the positions he worked on.

Back in 2008 he had a chance but fringgin Clay Bennett and his crooks bought the team and moved them to OKC. All a ploy by Stern who wanted to stick it to Seattle. Can you imagine that energy Ballmer would've brought to the Seattle Sonics? New arena fully funded by his own money (which is what he's doing with the Clippers' Intuit Dome)

Of all the "new media" podcasts this feels the most refreshing. Everything else is trying so hard to replace what SAS and Skip do, this feels like a podcast with just friends hanging out who get an NBA player to guest host with them every week except one of the hosts is Paul fucking George. Its really well done and PG has the perfect personality for this. He's one of the best players so we get the information from its most authentic source, and he knows when to speak and when to let the guests speak. GG man, gg.
