The biggest problem with the Jazz is they have 3 of the exact same player on their roster in Clarkson, Sexton, and Horton-Tucker. 3 guys that are known to be score first guards who aren't known to be passers or good defensively. THT has had games where he shows promise as a pg getting 6-8 assists in a game but if you're playing 2 of those guys on the court you're sacrificing a ton defensively and passing wise. In the starting lineup right now the only one who decides to pass instead of score first is Keyonte. Markkanen has had like 1 assist in the past 7 games, Clarkson is a score first guard, Agbaji is there for defense and not scoring, Collins doesn't pass at all, and they lead the league in turnovers averaging like 17 a game or something like that. Keyonte is forgivable because he only has 15 games under his belt but when Clarkson is getting like 5 per game and everyone else is getting 2-4, it becomes hard to watch them. I think at or near the deadline they HAVE to trade 1 or 2 of the score first guards for someone who is there defensively and doesn't turn the ball over quite as often. Coach Hardy also has been throwing out some WILD lineups out there that make no sense and drag the team down even further. As a Jazz fan, this is my take on the year so far. Ayton has been very good for the blazers especially considering most of this season he hasn’t had anyone who can run a pick and roll effectively with him his defense has been very solid too
Wait to Simon come back it will be difficult for teams for the pick and roll because Simon is good with running shot going towards the basket and he will have options for ayton the alley hoop or the short jumper he being hitting all year

Pistons have been competitive in quite a lot of games but we've been incapable of playing winning basketball down the stretch We've got good players but there's definitely been questions about Monty tbh especially with his rotations and again clutch game plans we underutilise Ivey big time which doesn't help I don't think we're as bad as our record but it's been coming 4 years under this regime and we've made little progress
For most of the season I’d agree with your statement. These last two games the Pistons have looked crushed, and Monty’s rotations haven’t helped one bit, like you said. I think they should have a tighter rotation for better targeted development. At least if Monty is playing Ausar and Ivey more often the energy is likely better and it’s more fun to watch, losses or no.
Portland’s problem is the offense and injuries. Williams is out for the season. All the guards have missed multiple games except Mays. Ayton has played better than the first eight games. Obviously they need more veteran help, but they are getting back the first round pick next year that they owe Chicago. They beat Cleveland on the road last night. Defensively, they haven’t been terrible, because they aren’t giving up 130 points every other game. The three point offense shot is off and Scoot is off to a bad start and Murray has been bad. Coumara has been great and once Simons gets back, you can trade Brogdon. The question is whether Williams or Grant get traded. Blazers will be fantastic next year or two.
as a jazz fan i have been really disappointed in sexton. we need a playmaker and hes not fit for that role. keyonte and collins have been pretty good as our new guys and im really excited to see how keyonte will develop. we just have so many players that could ands should be getting minutes its hard to make sure everyone is playing. i feel like we just need an actual veteran point guard to run our offense and be a mentor to keyonte.
I’m a blazer fan and I watched a g league and regular game and Kris Murray has not been it, keep him in the g right now cause he was struggling there and players like duop Reath, toumari camara and Jabari walker deserve more minutes in the pf/c minutes
As a jazz fan. Keyonte George actually has looked good. The team needs a true point guard to mentor him though. I also love how ochai is playing and hope he gets more minutes. I love Jordan Clarkson and hes had some fun games, but for the rebuild. I want us to send him to a contender for something decent in return. Lauri Markkanen is a stud and I hope we do resign him. I would not want to trade him. Clarkson, Olynk, Sexton are my trade block players. I actually like how John Collins has played, his defense actually hasn’t seemed to bad when hes been on the floor in my opinion. Part of the issues have been Walker being hurt so I hope we can get healthy and get back on track for a .500 season.

I predicted them having almost no chance making the play in but no one would have expected this bad....on paper. That's the thing. It's on paper , it's not considering the impact jalen duren made in those first few games while he was healthy. That was a different team than we are seeing. If they added a near 50/40/90 player they would easily look different. The pistons are bad but cades 2 biggest weapons have been injured. Adding Ivey seems to have taken pressure off cade too. Cade gets a double team every other possession it seems

Harris has been out the whole time. Livers just played his first game. Morris may never suit up. Duren plays 1 game then out for 2. Hayes has missed time. Ivey has missed almost 2 weeks. That's just off the top of my head. There's more though. This team has had terrible injury luck and has probably had the toughest starting schedule in the league. Also one of their coaches just fucking disappeared like 2 weeks in. No clue what's going on there. This has been the Murphy's Law first month of a season.

A lot of the losses from the Pistons are games within a few points so record wise it’s bad but looking into it, they just can’t close out a game. Realistically I can see them hitting the play in 2024-25 season. Tom Gores and Troy Weaver need to go. We also have LOTS of cap space to overpay for someone that fits the system AKA Kuzma
