He shot like 37-38% for a lot of last season too, but he for sure looks waaay more confident this season. Like a whole new man from that range (though his clutch % I believe was pretty solid on the season last year, maybe fourth qt in general). It's here to stay. 36% minumum. As for FT, he shot 79-80% much of last season before a dip as well. I think it's focus and/or overthinking it. Seen him go 12/13 in games, many games above 80-90 on volume. As a Kings fan I've watched Fox practically his whole career. When he was drafted he was basically a really fast and good slasher & finisher to the rim. His mid range was ok with his 3pt, playmaking, and defense being alright or whatever. But being young everything showed great signs of development & improvement which I've watched him get better at year by year where his mid range would become an important part of his game to nowadays his 3pt and defense becoming good. Fox literally elevated his game slowly level by level, year by year in every category and he has became a great player. I wonder if it was all him or the development from the kings tho lol (probably both). This also gives me great signs for Keegan Murray whos already a great 3pt shooter and has flashes of a great defender. I can only imagine how insane he would be if he could develop more opportunities around the rim like his playmaking, midrange, slashing or rebounding. With the way Fox turned out and the abilities Murray shows already I don't see why Murray can't become a star in this league.
Especially with how fox has been training him. Keegan is in the best situation for his development. I believe that in most other teams he wouldn't be half the players he's shaping to be. With the way mike Brown and even the fans are always supportive of him even when he plays bad I genuinely can't see him not being atleast a 20ppg 5ast and 7 reb kinda guy
Fox been on a tear from 3 point line ever since he hit that stop n pop 3 point game winner against Orlando. That shot gave him the confidence in his 3 point shot
Surprisingly enough this the second guy who released a vid bout fox’s 3 point hopefully more come out for more publicity and speaking of which can we get Sabonis back to the all-star team I’m just saying ain’t no way Sengun going over Sabonis. No offense they both should go but Sabonis right now is the better player
Great video! Fox has improved in everything but the free throws which is kind of concerning. It is clear working on his three point shot was the focus in the off season, I hope that he works on his free throws and in watching him when he shoots them it looks to me like he is just rushing the free throw shot instead of focusing on his techinque so hopefully this can be an easy fix. Also, Fox has improved his defense this year which makes him a true 2-way player. Crazy how no one really gives De'Aaron credit or talks about him much and instead the focus is on Haliburton and that is possibly because of the Kings in general. But keep up the good vids!
It was only a matter of time til he figured it out. He was a great shooter in high school with games where he hit 10 threes. I know the high school 3pt line is shorter but there were reason to believe some of it would translate. Lets just hope he can stay consistent with it.

It really isn't that simple though, otherwise every professional would be able to make that type of leap! Glad you enjoyed though, thanks for watching.
It almost sounds like it wasn't an issue with his shooting form or anything physical. Most likely his nerves got the better of him while he was younger, and also he probably received help from sports psychologists.
The transformation of his three point jumper is super impressive didn’t see that coming at all shooting almost 40 % at 7.5 attempts is just not something I think he is capable of . His lightning quick speed combine with this pull up threes is incredibly hard to guard.
If fox and anthony edwards were born in canada or somewhere else they would be all over nba media. It's like the nba media only promotes so many american players, and 3 of em are legends with 15+ years.
Good vid but I thought you should've pointed out the sacrifice with the dropoff in the midrange specifically the 16-22 area that he's been awful this year. You'd think his overall FG% would be up shooting by far a career high from 3 by a lot in by both volume & % but he's not. I'm more than a little concerned about the FT shooting especially since Sabonis has never been great and has been bad from the stripe this year. Can't have your two main ball handlers be nowhere close to 80% FT shooters if you expect to go anywhere in the playoffs. I love Fox but the Kings clearly screwed the pooch & traded the wrong guy & then traded for the wrong guy to pair up with the guy they should've traded. And I mean that with all due respect because Haliburton is ascending & on his way to MVP status. Fox isn't MVP on his own team alot of nights. Very rare Haliburton isn't the best player on the court even when he's sharing it with Giannis and Lillard. But good vid because it's impressive as hell Fox's 3 has improved. Now if he can put it all together then we're talking but he's yet to do it. I believe he will
Happy fox has implemented his shooting this year, last year was rough watchin him drive, to then force up a bad shot....stoked to see the progression continue!!! Light the beam baby
Height is the most important. Just imagine a 10ft tall man? He would be totally unstoppable. Shooting 99% we just haven’t seen someone tall enough yet.
1:12 the reason he’s able to transition to a good shooter is because he’s not American. He’s from a different country so like his family really needs the money, but if he was American, his family wouldn’t be insanely broke. He has something to fight for.
Shooting better is always a good thing but you don’t want Fox settling for shots imo. His biggest strength is driving. When he drives he also gets others involved
Suns should’ve drafted fox that was the year I disowned the suns it was a easy call he outplayed Lonzo in their matchup in college and had plenty of upside
He only trained a little bit, we have a player coach named luke loucks who helped him develop. Dude even went with fox and his new wife on honeymoon to continue training
@@woodlandmac yup the dedication is amazing. What makes it more amazing is that his wife apparently is harder on Fox than Coach Brown is. So he got a good supporting cast to motivate and push him to be the best.
Outside shooting is mathematically breaking the game of basketball. 33% difference between a 2 and a 3 is too much there needs to be a slightly small gap in order for the nba to stop abusing the 3pt shot. Over 100 players are shooting over 40% from 3 meaning (10shots x 3pts at 40%=12pts) In order to find out what your 2pt fg would need to be to match that productivity you would need (10x2pts x 60%fg= 12 pts There’s nobody in the nba minus Zion embeid, jocic, and Gianni’s that can come close to maintaining a 60% fg percentage for an entire season
You also have to keep in mind how the mid range shot factors into those 2s though. Players like Giannis shoot upwards of 80% at the rim, and the league average is close to 70% I believe. Shot selection has a lot to do with 3 point shooting reigning supreme.
Couldn't be a worst timing for this video. Fox went on a fluke shooting run and it's all over. Since 12/31 dude shot 17/51 (33%) on 3s and his free throw % still hangs around the low 70%.
From what I hear someone who works with the Sacramento Kings is he's got an injury that he's playing through and I think it's on the shooting arm. And ankle hasn't healed completely!
People are largely ignoring a 28 6 and 4 40% from 3 season by fox while playing great d and guarding other lead guards every night

Its funny to remember Tyrese Maxey fell out of the lottery because of concerns about his 3pt shooting ability
Now he's a top tier shooter
Glad your channel has been blowing up
Not possible without your support, appreciate all of you watching the videos!
Whaaat my kings finally getting some love in videos?! Lets goooo 🦁🔥
Well deserved!
True, Fox IS the MVP.
I like his game he ain’t quit
Excellent analysis.
Thank you!
Haliburton better though
Hes working with steph
that's true
Fox is a great dude.
If fox and anthony edwards were born in canada or somewhere else they would be all over nba media. It's like the nba media only promotes so many american players, and 3 of em are legends with 15+ years.
Thanks so much for making this video man!!! Great breakdown as usual, love your channel, been asking for a Fox video and here we are. You the man.
Glad you enjoyed, thanks for watching!
Fox is gonna be an MVP someday
I would love that, but the nba has it's darlings that they promote and unfortunately fox ain't one of them. Maybe he can work his way there.
Me
this is going to bring his slashing to a whole new level, since defenders will be forced to play up on him to take away his 3 point shot
Exactly, just gotta hope he doesn't fall in love with it.
Scottie Barnes 40%!!!
I talked about that in my Barnes video, another amazing leap!
Height is the most important. Just imagine a 10ft tall man? He would be totally unstoppable. Shooting 99% we just haven’t seen someone tall enough yet.
Sac been top 5 in the west all season but ESPN only talks Lakers, Warriors, Suns, etc..but never the Kings
Agreed, but improved shooting could also help open up drives, so at that point it becomes more about tendencies than anything.
"why isn't anybody talking about..." is the fastest way to tell people you're a conspiracy theorist.
Suns should’ve drafted fox that was the year I disowned the suns it was a easy call he outplayed Lonzo in their matchup in college and had plenty of upside
Bringing up lonzo as a weak shooter is crazy because he’s been a shooter his whole life so I’m pretty sure he would’ve figured it out either way
He put in work to go from 35% to above 50% is crazy! You get out what you put in practice kids!
Him and Maxey play very similarly and both have been going crazy this year from 3
What about Scottie Barnes
I made a video on him as well!
He is the primary ball handler, of course his 3 pt percentage will go up with an increased pace.
Great young player but they won’t be doing much in the playoffs again
He trained w steph curry idk but that might b why
He only trained a little bit, we have a player coach named luke loucks who helped him develop. Dude even went with fox and his new wife on honeymoon to continue training
@@woodlandmac yup the dedication is amazing. What makes it more amazing is that his wife apparently is harder on Fox than Coach Brown is. So he got a good supporting cast to motivate and push him to be the best.
This video is a year too late
He wasn't shooting like this from 3 a year ago!
I remember telling my brother when Fox was a rookie if he starts hitting more threes he will be a problem
No Lonzo always been able to shoot his form just wasn’t ready for the Nba tbh
Ft shooting don’t worry me too much look at 21-23 wigs
Noti gang 🛎️
W!
Outside shooting is mathematically breaking the game of basketball. 33% difference between a 2 and a 3 is too much there needs to be a slightly small gap in order for the nba to stop abusing the 3pt shot.
Over 100 players are shooting over 40% from 3 meaning (10shots x 3pts at 40%=12pts)
In order to find out what your 2pt fg would need to be to match that productivity you would need (10x2pts x 60%fg= 12 pts
There’s nobody in the nba minus Zion embeid, jocic, and Gianni’s that can come close to maintaining a 60% fg percentage for an entire season
You also have to keep in mind how the mid range shot factors into those 2s though. Players like Giannis shoot upwards of 80% at the rim, and the league average is close to 70% I believe. Shot selection has a lot to do with 3 point shooting reigning supreme.
It’s because he’s a Curry brand athlete now 😂
0:24 I blame the lack of height diversity
Couldn't be a worst timing for this video. Fox went on a fluke shooting run and it's all over. Since 12/31 dude shot 17/51 (33%) on 3s and his free throw % still hangs around the low 70%.
From what I hear someone who works with the Sacramento Kings is he's got an injury that he's playing through and I think it's on the shooting arm. And ankle hasn't healed completely!
2:13 my man really just airballed that middy???
I can see why this story isn’t talked abt lol
In hs D Fox was considered one of the shooters on his team
Fox free throws are still weirdly bad
He got stronger and worked hard. Period.
Great break down! Thanks for the content 🔥
Thanks for watching!
NBA is garbage in the 20's
