You sold me at 38 mpg and 500 miles per tank. Game over.
I just got the SL with navi and wow I was so surprised by the 500 miles!
The dealer never mentioned that haha

We had the new Altima 2.5S as a rental for just over two weeks and absolutely loved it. Granted the cloth material leaves little to be desired but the comfort and color choice are fantastic. All the other makes have to much black inside and even though the new Mazda 6 is at the top of the pack, when it comes to the interior; the Altima has them all beat.
Correction: This isn't the base model. As I stated, it's only one step below the top-trim SL. And this car had the optional Convenience Package and still felt barren.
I Have a 2013 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL fully loaded Pearl White with cream leather interior.. It has about 117k miles & have owned the car for over two years now; and I have had ZERO problems with the car, it is such a comfy ride and very enjoyable.. the interior feels super premium very nice leather throughout, I love the look of this body style, the Bose sound system is incredible and overall it is a pleasure, I definitely recommend🤘🏻
Is it a CVT?
@@MegaMarvelvsDC CVT transmission although it has given me zero issues so it’s been a beauty so far 🙌🏻
I have always been a loyal Toyota owner. Unbelievable dependability. After being in an accident (hit from behind), my rental was an Altima. At first it was intimidating. It felt like a lot of car (I'm used to my Toyota Highlander, I suppose). But, I quickly fell in love with the Altima. I drove it for two weeks and was sad when I had to return it. Now I'm seriously considering trading in the Highlander for an Altima.
Hi Cheryl. I to was in a car accident. I had a Honda CR-V and it was a total loss. My rental was also this Nissan and I was so sad to let it go. I ended up buying one today. I love this car.
@@girlierace Have you still got the Altima?
just leased this the other day. I am picky when it comes to cars and although it may not be a head turner, I am just in awe of how amazing the gas mileage is. I got an even lower model than this one and am more than happy with it. Went from a tacoma to this and just love the features. Push button is always so fun and I love the LCD display on the odometer. It has no gears and is completely smooth. For someone who isn't Donald Trump, I am happy I took this out on a 3 year tour.
Great review Steve! I miss the cars of those years!
You and me both!
@@stevehammes If we could only turn back time... haha
Everyone has their taste and I personally like this than the accord. I'm 17 and just recently got a new 2013 Nissan Altima 2.5 SV for my first car. I
This guy doesn't know what his talking about. Nissan Altima was the 3rd best car seller in 2013. What makes it so great is the value that you get for your money. Sure Toyota Camry or Honda Accord look and feel better, but they are also a lot more expensive. Altima can perform just as well as it's competitors but with a much cheaper price.
I own the same car in this video , overall it's great car , taking the stock wheels 17 inch out and replacing them with 19 inch black wheels or or 17 inch black wheels. I think it would look nicer.
The center console and the gauges look really good in my opinion :)
I have driven both the Accord and the Altima and overall I liked the Nissan a lot better over the Honda. I guess it boils down to Brand Loyalty but overall I prefer the styling of the 2013 Altima over the Accord Sedan. Also the Gas mileage is better in the Altima.
After test driving the Honda Accord, the Toyota Camry, the Mazda 6 and the Nissan Altima we decided on the 2013 Nissan Altima SL which has everything you will ever need. Second choice the Mazda 6 but never the Honda.
I love my Odyssey and Civic and was set an getting the Accord. I'm a self-confessed Honda fan-boy. I test drove the Sport, EX and EX-L. I was convinced I was getting the Accord. The dealership I visited just happened to be a Honda & Nissan dealership and on a lark I took the Altima SV with technology and convenience packages for a spin. This car drives better, is more comfortable and feels as solid as the Accord. For the same price (with current rebates) as an Accord Sport you get so much more. I bought the Altima.
I test drove a 2.5 SL and 3.5 SV I prefer the car with leather, and I love the v6, 4 cylinder isn't to bad though, and the cloth didn't really bother me but looks better in black for the cloth
Actually the White on the Altima is more of a Pearl White which shimmers very nicely in the sun. Black cars look Great if they are "Clean" which they never are. You see every little spec of dust and after owning a Black car for 3 years I swore I would never ever own another. But each their own. If you like dusting and polishing your car on an hourly basis a black car is definitely for you. Besides that the 2013 Altima is a Fantastic car.
Steve... you mentioned about the tire inflate sound indicator. One trend some car makers are doing is not offering a spare tire just to save weight. Does this Altima?
A balanced review as always, Steve. I was expecting much more from this refresh of the Altima. As you put it so well, it is boring and forgettable. It is visually under-whelming and this is a sad state of affairs. I have said it so many times I probably sound like a broken record - The cars coming out of Korea make this car look like it is standing still. It has no pizzaz or even style and has the appeal of a nice washing machine. Still happily driving my Optima.
great review steve! you're extremely helpful once again!
Camry has been a great car, but intern of quietness, Accord and Altima do the better job. unless you go with a V6. Altima saved Nissan from dying in 2001, sort of, and it became one of the best cars in 2008, can't go wrong with it.
Ummm...so he criticizes it for lacking features when he has a base model that doesn't even have leather? What do you expect. The car has a ton of features that can be added, including nav, rearview cam, lane departure warning, etc. etc.
After looking at many altima's and many accords... all i can say is this guy seems to have either a huge bias or a lack of vision. The Altima interior is far superior... biggest complaint is the engine noise above 4krpm.
def like the new fusion out of the new midsize sedans? Any chance of a review of it anytime soon?
I might get something like this in black
I love this interior!!!!! It can only be found in the white Nissan??
The seats look very comfortable. Does look a bit bland, exterior looks better in black.
I dont care about this. I just want to know if its reliable for college and graduate school
Absolutely
A blend of Sony and Cannon HD plus Go Pro for certain shots
No wonder Camry is # 1 in sales year after year. Nissan always trails the Accord and Camry in the Japanese trio.
What is it with you guys? Do you ALL work for Honda?
If only Nissan had given you the SL model, Steve. It certainly won't have that cheap rental-car feeling of the SV. (Which is the main reason why I hate Nissan's SVs.)
Nice review once again steve, the auto on headlights when you turn on your whipers should be a given now days. I know in PA its a law, when whipers are active, headlights must be on.
And yet, it will probably outsell all the others... Nissan must be doing something right.
I looked at accord but I didn't like it. It looks like for old people who wants a Japanese car. Altima is great. The accord is not that attractive this year. Hate the design.
Meh. Accord Sport and Camry SE give you more bang for your buck than the Altima SV does. Plus, Altima has weird--and expensive--trim levels.
Consumer reports got 44 mpg hwy in the 2.5
accord touring imo is much better then the other two. touring isnt that much different then the ex-l also
Steve, have you been in a 2013 Altima with the black cloth? I'm a driver at major car rental agency and I think the interior is much more interesting to look at in black. For some reason, when I drive an Altima with the black interior the car seems more sporty and fun to drive. But the tan interior makes it seem dull and boring. Maybe it's just me?
sorry...i meant to ask what kind of camera do you use
I like the car but I'm never going to get over the rear. I don't like how they just slapped the Maxima's rear on it, a car that's been out for couple years already. I'm afraid that the rear half of the car is going to age faster than the front. Lol
(1) I get to feel my comfy bath robe while driving pillow-like seats? Awesome. (2) So she is pretty outside, but has a bad personality? I don't get how this car lacks personality. Still it is a subjective aspect. The Passat has been deem to be a plain bland car. Yet I find the simplicity beautiful. (3) Price wise, this car is a great value over the Accord. Using tools like TrueCar, you can get very nice deals. (4) My picture of a tacky car rental is a Ford Taurus from 2007.
Passat TDI SEL if you can go there.
which is better
2012 Toyota Camry XLE
2013 Nissan Altima SL
2013 Honda Accord Touring
Only thing I like about this car is the MPG figures
Damn, just told him off hahaha! That is BS though that this is such a high trim level and no standard leather ;(. I actually was seriously looking at this car.
I really like this car for some reason but I would rather have the 2013 Kia Optima
likely forget meeting? A bit harsh
Es el carro que tengo y aun me encanta
Todavía lo tienes ?
I'm with you Steve. This car sucks. It's so boring and overpriced. $26,000 and you get those nasty fuzzy seats? Yuck! The rear end looks awful as well. The taillights are crooked and looks the rear was in a accident.
Sorry, I meant "not fully loaded" not base...
Really? Why is that? Because it is more stylish, more comfortable, more powerful, gets better gas mileage and is about a 100 years technologically superior to your outdated 2004 Altima? Okay, then your next car more than likely will be a Studebaker. :-)
TEAM HONDA!!!! Altima cant outshine an Accord. Nissan is so cheap they didn't even come out with the coupe. they give Altima Hand me down looks from the maximas. CHEAP! look at a 1998 Altima and look at a 1998 Accord. Their not reliable as accord not as attractive and less powerful Altima didn't even have a v6 until 2002 also look at resale value. I have a 2006 Accord v6 4dr 6spd best car ever!!!!! my accord with 68,562 miles is worth more than a 2010 Altima v6 with 30,000 miles.
Still a spare in the trunk.
2013 Altima or 2013 Accord?
Mine gets about 485 miles a tank
Are you forgetting about the Volkswagen passat?
Nissan it's made a beautiful car .. it is the best .
Not a big fan of Nissan's design language lately with the Versa, Sentra, and Altima. They look ultra boring and seems to be a step back.
Ill keep my 2012 kia optima sx
KIA Optimas look horrible. I've driven one but couldn't get a comfortable seating position, didn't like it at all. The Toyota Corolla I drove afterwards, rode much better and it provided a comfortable, smooth ride.
Sony and JVC
Really?
Are y’all driving these cars or wearing them dam
Why is the guy only talking about the accord like chill that car is ugly. There's no comparison between them.
Accord Altima sonata camry my ranking
Love the interior, hate the color. Even those fuzzy seats turn me on
accord ftw
I own a 2004 2.5S.....this 2013 generation is boring to drive.
Piece of shit my friend had one and with 50k miles cvt transmission failure
12/11
Nissan fabric seats are horrible! Always get the leather seats!
I want one car nissan altima2013
Full option but idont have menoy
):
