From a completely selfish standpoint, I would have loved to have seen Nick train as hard as the top guys. He’d have plenty of slams. He just didn’t want to do put in that kind of obsessive dedication-and I don’t fault him at all for it. It’s his life, and if he doesn’t want to spend every waking hour chasing a yellow ball I won’t fault him for it. But he’s so crazy talented. Would’ve been fun to see how far he could have taken his physical game with a different mental game. But I’d probably be the same. If someone said to me, “You can play FIFA online with kids until 3:00am, go to bars all night before matches, and get to world #13, or you can live on a tennis court 24 hours a day and get to #1” I might choose the former also. To be clear, I love him and wish him well. Just curious about what could’ve been.
I love him man, he's great..his upsets and antics I dont give one...my hero as a boy was John McEnroe..other than it gets in the way of him maxing out his ridiculous talent with his 'potential' sitting there waiting for him as and when
And there are a LOT more in the bag. Nick has more talent in his pinky than most people have in their entire body.
I'm so glad he took tennis seriously. He was a joy to watch in 2022

Yeah it's amazing, he's so talented he can get away with it
