P-47 is such a wonderful plane with the right knowledge and patience, and it's especially strong with so many BR reductions due to the average US pilot having zero patience or even a basic grasp of object permanence let alone energy fighting.

That was the best War Thunder Montage I think I've ever seen. The Thunderbolt was my favorite WW2 plane, and the fact that I'm hearing It Has To Be This Way made it worth watching.
Seeing an entire P-47s tail tear off due to 20mms leaves me in utter rage. The plane could withstand direct and multiple hits from 20, 30, and even 40mm cannon fire. I have almost never seen any report of a P-47 going down due structural failure of a wing following gunfire. Instead, I've seen 4 things: Fire damage. Pilot death. Engine damage. And the _rare, RARE_ instance where a P-47 was shot so many times, there was no aluminum skin left on the aircraft, so it couldn't produce the needed lift to fly. Hell, it took a 500lb bomb exploding directly underneath a P-47 to get it to split like it does in game.

It's a mixture of effects. (I use DaVinci Resolve but I assume core concepts will be transferrable to other softwares) First Layer: Zoom Blur Second Layer: Edge Detect Third Layer: Flash Zoom Blur: This one is straightforward. Start off with an adjustment layer, add a zoom blur effect and key it from whatever value you set (I typically use 0.8000) to zero in like 4 frames or whatever feels right, but just make sure it's short. This effect is useful for cut transitions and highlighting kills Edge Detect: This is the effect where you see the bright lines everywhere. Start off with an Adjustment Layer, add the "Edge Detect" effect on it, and change the composite mode to "add." Now go to Transform and on the first frame of the layer, keyframe it and a two or three frames later, key it to something like 1.200 from 1.000. Then add another keyframe a second later or something to 1.300. This gives the effect sudden pop and slow growth after because inertia(?) Then fade the layer to have it die down the effect. This video will teach you more clearly. No, but seriously, I was just trusting in the D-28's high altitude performance, and sturdy airframe to shrug off damage, because at high altitude, everyone becomes a brick, but the D-28 is slightly less of a brick due to its glorious turbo-supercharged engine, which gives you the slight edge you need to dogfight people at high altitudes. (Just watch out for the occasional Ta 152H) It's probably a sub-optimal move, but it's genuinely fun!
@@ArcturusGame if you are trully want to bully some TA buy the p38k and just dogfight above 6km, because no one fly the p38k the TA will think that he have the advantage, but im my opnion the p47 is kinda of overrated, and saw a lot of head on with a 50cal. you got that have some balls for that
I haven't played the N variant since that's one more painful grind so I can't really say anything about that, but I assume the M variant is really good due to the stronger engine and premium modifiers
