- The xTool Screen Printer is fairly new on the market and it takes screen printing to a whole new level! Use your laser to make screens for shirts and so much more. If you have ever dreamed of easily making your own screen print screens, this may be the product for you. I am going over how to make the screen as well as use the screen printer to make a shirt. The kit actually comes with everything you need to get started except for your xTool laser. Watch and see how to use this one and perhaps decide if this is right for you!
This laser was sent to me by xTool, however, all projects and opinions are my own.

Thanks for another great tutorial video. You are my go to when I'm looking for something.
Glad to help!
Hands down best tutorial on this kit! Thank you!
YAY! Thanks!
Seriously, awesome rundown of how this thing works. I'm getting one within the month to work with my M1. On a lighter note, we jokingly thought about initiating a drinking game for every time you said the word 'Location'.
Oh there are probably a TON of drinking games that can be played during my videos! I have just learned to accept that!
Thank you, really informative and wonderfully presented. Good luck with your T-shirts too.
Thank you kindly!
This is awesome thanks.
Best video I've seen explaining every part and what it does...thank you so much for your simple explanation on how to use it...how do the shirts hold up with washing
Screen printing is one of the best methods you can use for shirts that will last a very long time in the wash!
Thank you
This is so helpful 😊
Glad you think so!
Great video thanks
Thanks for watching!
Angie you are the best teacher I have ever had… love you! Question tho… so once the screens have been lazered they are “permanent”… right? I can’t go back and make another design on that same screen? Seems like 3 replacement screens are $50 CDN (which is… $$$ no?) I’m curious to know how often you have used your setup and how fast you have gone thru the 3 screens that came with it and how many extra screens you think you or the average crafty queen will end up having to get? I love this setup but it kinda seems like the “consumable” price is a bit high, no?
I have just kept my screens and not replaced them. I would see this as a method to make permanent screens for a screen printing business.

Thank you for your reply about being able to use the Xtool screen printer with M1. Are the dimensions of the screen printer the same as those of the M1? Have you tested using the screen printer with the M1? If so, I am wondering if there is a difference if any. Thank You. You have been such a help with your tutorials.
yes the screen printer itself is the same. You do need the riser base with the M1.
Great Tutorial, thank you😊
I have the d1 pro 20w, I'm curious if you are doing large size t-shirts like 3x or 4x how do you get a bigger print because the size you did would look to small for a bigger size shirt?
I'm wanting to buy the kit but wanted to know about bigger size shirts if you have any tips on that please?
You should rotate the design the other way and put the shirt in the opposite direction.
Hey the instructions actually show the fixing plate being installed on the other side we are using the riser base or do we install it as you did? Thank u
Yea it does now say the other side! I don't think it said that when I did mine but it does now!
Thanks for this review! It was super helpful but could I get some suggestions?
I ran my design using the following settings:
Power :90
Speed :50
Lines per inch: 200
I have a lot of fine details and halftone accents that didn’t engrave through! What setting would you suggest for this? 😮
I used the default setting in xTool for screens for this and didn't have any issue.
if you were printing a bulky item like a hoodie sweatshirt, is there enough room for the bottom of the fabric to bunch up and sit near the hinges? It doesn't look like there's a lot of space for excess material.
There is NOT a ton of space there so a bulky item may have issues!
Hi! I’m looking at getting this kit, but I already have an atom stack laser engraver and I use lightburn. Would I still be able to use my engraver with this kit, or would I NEED to get an xtool engraver? Hope that makes sense. Thank you!
I have not used this one any other laser machine. Not sure how you would locate it inside of your laser and on the screen for burning.
I came here to ask if it can be used with a different brand laser. I have the wecreat and would love to know if it's possible. 🤔
To keep shirts from shifting between ink passes or if you print with more than one color, you could use pallet tape and some water-based adhesive, like used with conventional screen printing.
Out of curiosity, since I know you've printed with conventional screens before and can compare, for people with texture issues involving touching metal mesh like me, is the metal mesh a different feel under the squeegee? I feel like I could hear the difference, though it might be my hypersensitivity speaking.
I felt like the first few swipes felt way different then I was okay!
I would like to be clear about using a screen printer. You used the S1. Is it ever possible to use a screen printer if one only has the M1 and is interested in using one color ink?
If you add the riser base, you can use it with the M1.
I might have missed it, but can you use the M1 10w Xtool laser on the screens?
You can. You may need the riser base for that one though.
This looks pretty simple, can you upload logos to be cut out?
Sure! You can upload any image!
Mine didn’t bring the plate to place it on the laser, I think that is a a little misleading, that was bigger factor to buy mine, I’m super disappointed. ☹️
I would check where you purchased and the list of things that were supposed to come with it.
How to do you heat it to make it stay?
That depends on the ink. I would check with the ink brand that you use as I find they have slightly different instructions for setting.
Can you explain why the F1 and M1 will work with basic kit but not the multi kit? I was under the impression the only difference between the 2 kits is the basic kit just has less screens, paint and frames. Otherwise they work the same? The multi kit I was told was just a better buy. Since the F1 is portable and can be placed on the screen to burn it seems the only limitation would be the size of the design if using the F1. However, As for the M1 I understand that is the only machine that can not be used with the screens because you can not fit the screen in the M1 in order to burn the design. If I have this information wrong could you please let me know. Thank you
yes i agree i was under the same impression.. i want to knwo why you cant use the F1 also I heard you can also use it on other lasers too its just you cant use the perfect alignment tool unless it fits that particular laser. or maybe you could even 3d print a frame to align it to your laser I'm sure there is a work around here , mines coming today so we shall see.. I will message xtoool also I think
I think they may be saying that the alignment will not work which is what you would need to do to make multiple colors.
clean with water! please more explain. how to clean an prepare for another job.
Sure! I took it to the sink in my kitchen and used the sprayer and literally just sprayed it down then wiped away any excess with a paper towel. It was SO easy!
im sorry neat product but price wow i screen print with just screens and ink my own designs or cut out with a cutter or purchase stencils and by the time screen was set into frame i would have 10 shirts done and i can print on anything
ty for showing
I find this quicker than other processes that burn a screen like the Ikonart.
Do you need a new screen for every new design?
Yes you will. You can reuse the frame but the screen itself is permanently that one design.
You can apply a new layer of emulsion (to make a new design) IF you remove all the previous emulsion from the screen. I'm not sure how many times you can do this, but I'm sure you could at least change it a few times. Look up "Reusing xTool Screen Printing Screens" on TH-cam by "Heath Sharp".
He discusses exactly how to do this. He used Emulsion Remover by Ecotex and a bucket of Water Resistant Screen Printing Emulsion (also sold by Ecotex if you dont know of any other brands) to apply a new layer.
