    I'd always take advice and instructions from Big Jim than anyone else.
    I remember seeing advertising from his company for years and the magazine of choice for traditional shooters.

    Great video. Thanks 🙏
    Explains visually why my draw length changes 1 1/2 inches between target and hunting. I changed my posture without being conscientiously aware of it until I watched this. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

    ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO JIM! ALWAYS THUMBS UP!!! THERE ARE PROSHOPS IN EVERY BIG TOWN. IF THEY DO NOT KNOW THEIR DRAW FOR SURE, YOUR RIGHT, THEY SHOULD GO GET HELP. IT WILL NOT COST A PENNY, MOST SHOPS HAPPY TO HELP.

    The best method I've found for finding my realistic draw length is to go stumping and shoot 10 arrows from 10 different positions and have someone mark the arrow each time. Then I add all of the lengths up and divide by 10, this gives me the "average draw length" and has seemed to work the best. That said, I'm a bowhunter not a target archer and I shoot instinctive.

    with a compound tho all this info goes out the windows ..you can over and under draw and regular bow but you can not do that with a Compound

    Excellent advice ! First time after shooting a bow since age 9 and now about a hundred years later discovering thanks to you that the shoulder position can add or substract from the draw length. I shoot better not leaning into it too much but discovered that most of the time I stand reasonably straight and my arrows fly well.
    Are you still making bows ? I went to your website and the links aren't working.
    Thank you for the great instruction. All the best !

    Question, so I did this method but took a video of me shooting with marked arrows. Do I take the measurement at the end of the shelf (back of bow side), the deepest part of the grip, or the end of the shelf (belly of the bow side)

    • @BigJimsBowCompany
      @BigJimsBowCompany  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Measurement is from back of bow(furthest away) to throat of nock
