Usually companies increase the vibrancy to fool uneducated consumers. If you look through HDRen’t monitor you cant see hdr colours. Yet lots of people get fooled by that.

The headphone jack on a monitor is likely used to connect speakers. Some motherboards like the ASRock Rack X570D4I-2T don't have an audio out jack, so sound is passed through via the DisplayPort or HDMI jack on your discrete GPU.

  • @gonger03
    @gonger03 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

the audio jack allows you to have less cables from the computer unto the desk in case you have speakers, or if the computer is far away, or at floor level, you can just plug in your headphones to it. It actually makes a lot of sense.

I bought this one as my main monitor for mostly AAA games/fighting games and the contrast and richness of the colors is just amazing. I also love to watch movies and videos from over the kitchen a few steps away and I can enjoy everything even looking from a sharp angle.
Its fast enough for non professional gaming, displays a beautiful image with rich colors and is bright enough for office work with different light sources around (I find it a lil too bright sometimes, which is amazing for an IPS panel, so I lower the brightness when browsing at night for example). Its just all in all an amazing monitor for everything imo. Dont see any significant drawbacks to be honest. Best monitor Ive had so far. Bought it for 350€. Feels like a rock solid quality purchase.

I have had this monitor for a few months, and it is great. I really cannot fault it for the price. Also, the 5ms compared to 1ms response time is weird outside of competitive sports. It is more than good enough for the average gamer. I am glad you highlighted the speakers/soundbar. They blew me away for quality. I only use the monitor speakers now. The sounds is quite good and it frees up space on your desk. Win win!

Got this monitor and i am pretty happy with it. But i dint wanna use the stand as it dint have height adjustment. So i bought a monitor arm to get the monitor right where i want it. Tried out the HDRi stuff and for me i dint like it, the colours became abit wierd. So i prefer the low blue light mode instead and my eyes like the benq low blue light. Just remember to get DP 1.4 cables for 144hz at 1440p res. The speakers are okey if you like just wanna hear sound from the monitor if you are tierd of having your headset on. Have not noticed any ghosting in most of the games i play.

After a long research I bought this monitor and I'm quite happy with it. Best all rounder for the best price.
But I would advise to check the corners for bleeding, I bought the first one and it was horribly bleeding at the left bottom corner. However, BenQ replaced it directly and now its great with unnoticeable bleeding, which is expected.

@@hunterdornan6086 Its regarding displaying black or dark colors, for LCD screens when displaying dark/black they apear to be gray or washed out because of the back light inside the screen bleeding to the front. You can try this by putting a completely black background and checking for areas in the screen that doesnt apear to be black.

The LG GL850 contrast ratio is a bit lower than BenQ's EX2780Q panel. 800:1 vs 1000:1 for the BenQ. In testing I saw the ratio go as high as 1090 or so which for some people is a big difference. The LG has a slight upper hand on color range though (DCI-P3 of 98% vs BenQ's 95%. LG's brightness is only at 280cd/m2 vs BenQs 350. Both are good, but the LG has a small edge in color and response time, whereas BenQ has the sound quality, contrast, and brightness.

I was seriously considering this monitor since LG monitors in canada are overpriced from sellers, I just cant get over the bronze coloring on it. Main reason I didnt get this was that the LG monitor I wanted that has the same specs as this BenQ had a price drop and I grabbed it. Headphone jack on the monitor would be a nice thing for me actually. Because of the Nintendo Switch. It doesn't like certain headphones and aux cables when it's in docked mode. The fan causes interference. So if I had a monitor with a headphone jack, I could use an aux cable to run that line-in to my PC so I only have to wear my headset and can chat to people that way while I game. Currently. I have to use my phone's earbuds and my headset at the same time to get this same experience. Not the most comfortable thing.

Headphone out and audio out are two different things. It's called a headphone port because that's what it is. You can use it for external speakers but the sound quality is trash because it's not a fixed line level and is totally the wrong impedance. You also risk burning out its amplifier.

i used to have my headphone connected to my monitor because i didnt want to have the cable connected to the pc and it was easier to just have it connected to the monitor

I was watching among many monitors and this one seems like the LG one that i always liked for colours, but has 5ms at a better price, 100$ less, seems rly good, since HDR 10 and 400 are useless anyway that LG has.

hi what is the name of the lg model that you are talking about?

    • @Klasus357

@@OryGma The one from video, but i took the 180hz one, was just a bit more expensive but i think more worth, nicer menu control, better response time.

Actually tho, why does nobody plug their usb-headset into their monitor?
I'm gonna buy a 1440p monitor and I was planning to use the usb-port for my headset. Is there a reason I should not do that?
