F....g brilliant! Paul Bostaph's drumming on Divine Intervention (my favourite Slayer album yet generally very underrated) is nothing short of phenomenal. Period. Well done, sn0w8!
Thanks for all the nice comments everyone I haven't been on here for months due to the day job. TH-cam can be a mean place sometimes. Its not a perfect take I know. Although the drum-kit in front of me has 2 rack toms up front, its also a cheap piece of crap. The kit I am using in the video is an Orange County custom kit I have used professionally since 2004. Its my pride and joy. To the nay sayers about my kit configuration. No its not ideal for this style of music. But a smaller kit is great when your on the road. Less gear to move around. The one rack makes the job a little harder, But at the same time It takes a real man to play slayer with 1 rack tom! :) Once again, thanks for checking my video out. Did not expect it to hit 1000 views let alone 26000!
I have to chime in here. Both Paul and Dave are superbly talented in terms of persision, style, snd especially stamina. One is not superior to the other, they just both have thier oen uniqueness. Divine intervention was Paul's debut with Slayer and by far his best.
I remember well when this album came out and the big question everyone had was can Paul pull it off???? The first song starts and within 5 seconds everyone’s question was answered.
Dude, to cover Slayer's most difficult and most technical song on the drums, especially by Paul Bostaph - it was a joy to watch this video, you are amazing, thank you so much
Absolutely outstanding performance. I am very impressed. Congratulations! I play the drums for many years (as a hobby) and was never able to cover this song. Too complicated. I was able to play the beginning though, which is fun in itself. But the weird timing and the crazy tom tom-fills that lay over the chorus were too much. You nailed it. Awesome!
Just amazing! I love the song, drums kill!! ! I see that you are the only man in TH-cam who does the full cover for that excellent song...great job Max, cheers!!
This guy has the half of the set up that Bostaph had back in the day with the rack tom far away from the floor toms while playing those immense and fast fills that song has, with power and precision. Great job sir!
Who is better Dave or Paul. Depends on who you talk to. Die hard slayer fans will always say Dave. Technical drummer fans will always say Paul. Its one opinon vs another. What turned me on to Slayer...Divine intervention...Holly crap !!! from start to finnish every song will rip your face off. I hear earlier slayer, and without a doubt Dave is the man. But When I hear Paul's drumming he takes it to a higher level, more technical than Dave. Taking nothing away from Dave, two top level drummers. \m/
i agreee man, in albun divine intervention bostaph so brutal, but he need feel in likes season in the abyys song and hell awaits song you can hear different 2 drummer slayer, hhhhhh but i like the both of
In my opinion, Dave is the better drummer.. He has been described as almost being on the same level of Bonham. Lets not forget, he set the bench mark for speed metal/thrash drumming in Reign in Blood and inspired hundreds if not thousands of bands to come. Theres no doubt that no one can to live up to him but one things for sure, Bostaph does a DAMN good job! He is the only drummer who I can think of who comes close to Dave. Obviously, you can't get better than Dave, but Bostaph is THE second choice. He gets a lot of flack from 'fans' but I think he is excellent in his own way, they're both different. Bostaph's insane drumming is a salute to Dave in my opinion. \m/
Check out Dave's work with Grip inc., or the album he did with testament. Incredible stuff. And check out Paul's band before slayer....Forbidden...also very great stuff.
Great timing Max, hit everything on time, how long did it take to master the drumming to this track?, cause it must be a tough task to get the tempo with both the arms and legs spot on.
Dave or paul?who fuckin cares,Slayer rock with whoever is on the drums. Great job maxondrums, you ripped the fuck out of this great song,i'd like to see anyone else talking it up to post a better version
Great cover!!! You're very good at this dude. Jusy wish you'd saved the intro for the end. Either way, excellent attempt! Sounded identical to most of the song. If Paul is God forbid fallen sick or unable to play a show for any reason..I don't think filling in for him would be that much of a challenge for you.
Awesome job, very impressed by the switch from top tom to floor toms... all the shit about "wrong", so you should add your own flavour here and there. Occasional weakness on the left foot just like me (Try playing 1 pedal songs on the left, wrecks your head but helps even things out).... better than I could do even with my extra toms. DC
Man, please help....I just can´t understand the part that starts at 2:55. Can you explain it to me somehow? I just can´t decipher it....I´ve been looking for videos about it but they don´t exist.....
If you compare silent scream to killing fields, both songs are extremely difficult and both songs are fucking epic so I dont see whats with the ( i think paul is better i think dave is better)Both of them are fuckin epic drummers and just deserve all the respect they get.
F....g brilliant!

Well done, sn0w8!
underrated???
You got that right my man!
I love how nobody can play the full length intro because of how insane it is.
@Mikk Lüftumie You think he just rolled into the studio with this? He was with them for 2 years before this album! Hes just that good
Bostaph just annihilates the drums on this album and this song. Great job man!
Thanks for all the nice comments everyone I haven't been on here for months due to the day job.

+Max Williams Great stuff. Bostaf would be proud. Sick mate \m/
Dude you’re shredding. Amazing!!!
GREAT job. In ANY case. I'd never even dare go NEAR this song Gawd No!!! ;)
I have to chime in here. Both Paul and Dave are superbly talented in terms of persision, style, snd especially stamina. One is not superior to the other, they just both have thier oen uniqueness. Divine intervention was Paul's debut with Slayer and by far his best.
This dude's all calm and SLAYS it holy crap
I remember well when this album came out and the big question everyone had was can Paul pull it off???? The first song starts and within 5 seconds everyone’s question was answered.

Pleasure to watch this!!!! Amazing!!! Thanks!!!!

The intro is being played by You exceptionally well! Dynamics, accuracy. Really great drumming!
Technically the most difficult Slayer song!!!! Great cover!!!!
Awesome job, man! Getting goosebumps here!
This guy has the half of the set up that Bostaph had back in the day with the rack tom far away from the floor toms while playing those immense and fast fills that song has, with power and precision. Great job sir!
Well done sir!!! Of all the covers on TH-cam this is by far and away the best!!!
Just hit this video and love the way you hit it. Not a easy song and you nailed it
Great cover man, fantastic drumming!
2:37 you missed the cymbal crescendo.
You did a very good job on the drums pal! Love the fills in this song, insane!
Wow you played those verses perfectly! I really thought Bostaph was the only one capable of playing those without any mistakes, nice cover!
blah blah 1:20
Agree.
Thanks dude!
I'm usually rough on comments because i have musical hear and i can tell you that honestly you nailed it tight!!!!
no man can play the full intro only legends
Even without the full kit, I'll say it again, amazing job. Great left hand btw.
Loved it great pick.
You did a great job.
My blood runs cold!

theres no who is better both are better shoot it will be a suprise one day that dave and paul will hook up and do drum clincs
I completely agree with you. Maybe Lombardo created the Slayer's drumming style, but Bostaph rose it to a high level in this masterpiece album.
i agreee man, in albun divine intervention bostaph so brutal, but he need feel in likes season in the abyys song and hell awaits song you can hear different 2 drummer slayer, hhhhhh but i like the both of

yeah, i likes both of drummer slayer
you are too kind mate thanks for watching!
Max, thank you very much, I love this song!
Great stuff, very impressed you could crack out the fills with so far to go between the first and second toms. :)
dude that was fucking awsome PB is crazy fucking drummer well done on the cover that got me hyped
Also at 1.59 you do a very well use of the ride with dynamics that give more to the rythm.
An improvement over even the original recording
Check out Dave's work with Grip inc., or the album he did with testament. Incredible stuff. And check out Paul's band before slayer....Forbidden...also very great stuff.
That was Aaamaaeezzzinnggg..!!!Totally surprised max.

Outstanding...
Great cover man!! You nailed it
Anything from Dave is great as well. But do any of you know any other projects either of them were in outside of slayer.
Yeah, when I was on the doll and had to sell my drum kit, this was a good one to play along to . . . JOking!!
Very nice snare sound mate. Snare is vital to me, i cant listen to a tune with a crap snare sound.
Whats snare is that?
catching up on the amazing comments here.. thanks mate
Thanks for all the great comments everyone. Im working on a new cover. Watch this space!
Great timing Max, hit everything on time, how long did it take to master the drumming to this track?, cause it must be a tough task to get the tempo with both the arms and legs spot on.
Well done mate...awesome!!!
I hope this gets more views. Good cover, man.

Killing it man!

Starts: "Ready to cover probably Slayer's hardest song!"

Pretty sure you nailed that man. Fuck'n wicked. Great job
thankyou!!
Good job but, if you used the rack toms you've on the drumkit in front of you, you could have played without the mistakes as seen on 3:13
Simplicity perfection
You did insanely good!! especially considering how all over the place Paul’s timing in this song lol
You got 90% of the way there. Then...you dropped from double time on the ride at 4:17. Dang!
awesome man! youre great!! congrats!!!
great cover

Amazing cover.
