    The long software support Samsung guarantees is somewhat unappreciated by people. I’d never buy a device that has good specs but is supported only for 2 years. Security updates should be mandatory for a minimum of 4-5 years.

    After tryin out a few. I finally settled on the 11" S9 FE 8/256 model. The 1380Exynos isn't a bad little chip. It's great for everything really, other than gaming the latest/greatest. The display is excellent. Despite being "only" an LCD...It's very good. I could tell a difference between the base 6/128 model and the 8/256 myself. It's just a bit more snappy seemingly in my experience. The speakers are also very decent, especially in a case like the Poetic TurtleSkin that projects the sound towards the user. Made a big difference.

      It's coming very soon! Releasing an accessory video in the next 2 to 3 weeks. I was impressed enough that I'm working with them as a sponsor for one video. Honestly it's not perfect but it's very close to the Apple Magic Keyboard, backlit, a ton of travel on the keys, and I love the elevated typing angle, way better on the lap. A lot of good stuff. Trackpad isn't perfect, but it's still a great overall package

      The reason why you are seeing that is because I went to the web browser, Google Chrome, and after I logged in, I clicked into the settings and there's an install button for a web app. That's why you're seeing better optimization. • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I thought I responded to this but it's not showing up. Honestly I would go for the FE. The iPad will be faster. But I don't think you'll really notice it day to day. More realistically, I think coming with the s pen, I think that will be a huge deal for you. Also, you can still do some gaming on there no problem. And you also have Samsung dex which is a good laptop environment to get some work done. You can also use things like quick share and quickly share files between your pixel and the tablet. It used to be a Samsung exclusive thing but now it works across all Android devices. So there's a lot of integration you'll get if you go with Android. I think it's best to stay in the same ecosystem personally. I know there are some benefits to the iPad though. And iPads are definitely great. So not knocking them. Hopefully this helps you a little bit. Feel free to use any links in the description if you want. Even if you get an iPad. And you can come back and ask questions anytime. Sometimes I miss extra comments in the same thread. But I try to catch every new comment and new thread that comes my way

    Hey man I'm wondering what you would recommend for a student on a budget between the fe+ and ipad air 13". The 13'' has half an inch bigger of a screen for a couple hundred more dollars but I'm not well versed on the techy specs. Would you say the air has features other than the screen size that warrants the couple hundred more? Thanks!

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Well, that's definitely complicated. Both tablets have their pros and cons. Remember that this comes with a stylus too, so you would have to pay more for an apple pencil if you like that type of thing, and that's even more money in the hole.
      I would say one of the biggest considerations is your ecosystem. If you are all-in with the Apple ecosystem, you may want to get an iPad. It's a really big thing to be in two ecosystems and not everyone can do it. Because they operate completely differently. But if you have an iPad and iPhone, all of your facetime calls will go to each other, if you have a mac, it's easy to transfer files between the 3 devices, there is an integration between all of them that is a big deal.
      With that being said, you could always look to buy last years iPad air model. I'm pretty sure you can get a "refurbished" iPad air from apple, last generation, with 256GB of storage for $469. www.apple.com/shop/refurbished/ipad/ipad-air or you can get a 64GB of storage model for $399. You can find that same one new at walmart for that price.
      I don't say all that to talk you into the iPad. Even this Tab S9 FE Plus has some great open box best buy deals to bring the price even lower. And the Samsung has a lot of pros. Yes the iPads are a little faster. But you get a faster refresh rate on these S9 FE devices, they are water resistant too. You also get Samsung DeX which is a better productivity software in my opinion than stage manager. It comes with a stylus so you don't have to pay more. And if you are in the Samsung, or any Android ecosystem it's going to work better with all of your devices.
      If you're already in Android, I say get what you're used to. If you have Apple, I would say the same.
      Spec for spec:
      iPad Air 13 vs Tab S9 FE Plus:
      Screen: Barely better on the iPad, but maybe a draw (Samsung has a better refresh rate)
      Performance: Better on the iPad, but the S9 FE Plus is more than fast enough anyway.
      Software: Depends on what OS you prefer
      Productivity software: Samsung DeX is better than Stage manager
      Stylus: Comes in the box with Samsung
      Customizing: Android always will have more customization
      App optimization: Slightly better on iPad.
      In the end, you're still comparing the S9 FE Plus to something that costs more. Plus the stylus has a cost.
      I say go with your better os. I always recommend that. And if you need to save money look at last year's iPad air.

    Can you be accurate with the S pen if you write in the four corners of the screen? I'm referring to the vertices of the screen. I can have good precision writing in the middle of the screen, but when I write exactly at the corners of the screen, the writing is not aligned with the tip of the pen. So far I haven't found an answer to this.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      When I write on the top left, right, bottom left or right, I don't have any issues. There are bezels there so I'll have accuracy issues if I write into the bezels, but if I stay on the actual screen part I've got no issues, feels accurate. But I do have to be more careful around the edges, since obviously it's easy to draw OVER the edges if I'm not careful.

    • @kaikydias4367

      @@AndroidDigest on my tablet, when I write on the screen, very close to the black frame, this inaccuracy in writing occurs. This doesn't really bother me, as it's very close to the black frame, but I'm unsure if this is a factory defect or if it's natural to the tablet. It's a shame I can't send photos here to demonstrate my question more precisely. I'm Brazilian, if my English is bad, I'm sorry. And thanks for answering me.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This would be amazing for that. For one, it comes with a stylus. It also does have palm rejection so if you're using your finger to scroll up it won't assume you're trying to write with a stylus. It can differentiate between touch and the stylus. And the refresh rate is 90 HZ, which helps make things feel smoother. Personally, I use Samsung nodes, and it's pretty easy to go back and forth between the stylus and typing things. So it's really good for typing out nodes, and even using the pen to go back and forth

      It's about warranty. If you have a US version, and you buy it in the US, you get a warranty from Samsung. It may also affect small things like the language of the keyboard or things in the settings, most of that can be changed later though. The big thing is the warranty

    • @eulehund99
      @eulehund99 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You can forget tablets if you want to code in anything other than Python really. There are no native apps that are an IDE. You could however either do it online on platforms that offer an online compiler or run a Linux VM through Termux. I have the S9 FE and it didn't really work with the VM, so extra performance might be needed.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Looks like you got a little bit of an answer. I'm definitely not a coder and wouldn't know anything about that part. For drawing and for notes and things like that, for casual surfing, both will be fine. But there are some things where the extra power comes into play. It depends on what you're doing. And I just don't know a lot about coding

  • @ashwinivashishtha8575
    @ashwinivashishtha8575 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Like you mentioned in the video there are other tabs out there that offer a better value proposition, performance, etc. The only reason the S9 FE+ is so good is because of Samsung's software support. It would be a no brainer choice if only had Samsung included Exynos 1480 but that wasn't released at the time this came out. If they release a revision model with that SoC, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Great review btw

      Thanks so much. I agree with you 100%. The other thing is the screen size too. The pixel tablet and the OnePlus pad are a little bit smaller. And you do end up paying a little bit more for screen size.
      Even then, I wish it would be a little bit faster like the OnePlus pad. But it's still good enough for most. The thing that does set it apart from some devices is definitely the software. And the stylus. You are dead on. Thanks for the comment and for the support

Also can you highlight some performance differences between them?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You're in a tough spot. Typically I'd recommend the iPad to you. But yes, you would get a stylus, and more storage and expandable storage. The iPads will benchmark much higher with performance but in real world usage I don't think it's that significant of a difference. Samsung does offer several years of OS updates too, just like iPads so you don't have to worry much about software. All devices can feel slow after a couple of years, and a factory reset can make them feel like new. In the end, I can't give many examples, just expect some higher end games to run worse on this vs the iPad, you may have to play on the middle graphics settings for SOME games, and expect a little waiting. I showed performance examples in the video, that is often with apps pre-loaded, sometimes if you click them open for the first time you wait a couple of seconds, maybe an extra second vs an iPad, it's not crazy noticeable to me. In your case if it's only a $50 difference to get extra storage on an iPad I'd go with an iPad since you already have the OS, it just makes things easier, but if it's going to cost you $100+ more or if you need a stylus and need to buy it separate, I'd go with the Samsung, that's my take. It performs good enough for me, I think you'll enjoy it.

    How does this work with emulation, I like playing PS2 on aethersx2 app

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I didn't test emulation out, but I will say that PS2 is going to be on the fringe of what this can handle. As you know, emulation gets harder and harder based on what type of emulation. Super Nintendo and older emulation will do great on this. I've heard some mixed things with emulation once you get to PS2 level. It's got the same processor as the Galaxy A54. And I saw someone playing PS2 God of war game on that. But scrolling around Reddit and seeing how that device does with PS2, a lot of people thought it wouldn't handle it well. A tablet is a little bit larger and has a little bit better cooling. But it does have the same processor. I'm guessing that it will be able to emulate some games with PS2, but maybe not all of them.

      I think it will work for years. If it ever gets a little slow you can factory reset it down the line. But if performance seems right to you I say go for it, but if you're really really worried, may want to save up a little more for a tab s9 or something just in case.

    What is your opinion of the Xiaomi pad 6?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It has a better refresh rate, and it's a little faster. But it won't have Samsung DeX..I would expect it will have slower software updates and less updates. No s pen in the box. I think it depends on what you're looking for.
      I would say the biggest difference is screen size. A lot of people are comparing this 12-in tablet to the 11-in tablets out there. But that screen size is a massive difference. There's a reason why the S9 Ultra costs so much. It has nearly the same specs as the regular tab S9 but you pay like $400 more. Simply for the screen size. And a couple of very very minor things.
      So I think the FE Plus is better for those looking for a larger screen size. It's better for those looking for a stylus. And those looking for better software updates. I think the Pad 6 is better if you don't care about screen size and just need a little extra power. Obviously price will come into play overall. But these are just some general thoughts

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Honestly I think you could do all of that on any of these. I really think it depends on which phone you have. If you are someone who's already in the apple ecosystem. It's okay to get the cheapest iPad. You'll have to get an Apple pencil on the side or something if you want to use a stylus. But it will work good. But if you're someone already in the Samsung ecosystem, I think you'll do great with this. It comes with the s pen already. The plus has a larger screen size. So you'll get that nice large screen. But if you want a smaller screen I would just get the regular FE. There's a couple of minor differences outside of that, but the main one is the screen size. So I say pick your ecosystem, then pick your screen size. And you'll have your answer. That's my personal take.

    I have the S7 FE, is it really worth an upgrade? My S7 FE is doing fine, I don't want to get into the habit of buying the "new-new" just because it's the "new-new." I don't need a blazing-fast tablet for browsing and running Android apps for digital art so I'm going to wait until I "need" to upgrade.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      This will be about the same speed. Same screen quality. The difference? The S9 FE Plus has water resistance , a 90hz refresh rate for a better s pen experience and a smoother scrolling experience. Also, a fingerprint sensor. The bigger thing? Software support. Back when the S7 FE came out, software support was a lot worse. I'm pretty sure you won't get any more big software updates with the S7 FE. Since then, Samsung has updated their software support to give more years of support.
      There's a lot of reasons to upgrade. Sure. If it's worth it depends on you. It won't be faster. Battery won't be significantly better. The display will be similar. It's a few small things.

      Yes and no. Any device can have problems after 2-3 years, battery life will start to get worse. Devices can start to lag. If it ever gets slow I'd recommend a factory reset. But yes, I think it will work fine. If you're worried at all, you can get a Tab S9 or s9 plus,, but if you don't have that money, and you want a larger screen, this is a great option. I think it's fast enough for most people, but everyone is different with their expectations, I think it will last a long time, and it's got better software support than any other android tablet out there, on par with all other Samsung tablets.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      There's pros and cons to both. You have better water resistance, and if you obviously want a bigger screen you could get the Fe plus and that will give you a bigger screen. Also, one year newer is a big deal when you're talking about software updates.
      The regular S8 isn't oled either. So similar screen quality. It will be faster. But at the expense of battery life because the processor is known to be inefficient. No water resistance. But you get a Bluetooth s pen allowing you to take photos with the s pen. Or advance PowerPoint slides.
      Basically, it depends on if you really need that extra power. It does come at a slight cost. But only a slight cost. And it depends on the price. Obviously. You're going to have to weigh all these pros and cons and weigh them out with the price

    11" or 13" one .......!!

    What abt S9FE+.....12.4"......!!?
    Any suggestions.....!

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Obviously, other people can chime in here. From my perspective, everyone is different. Most people I know don't use 128GB of storage. I've got all my banking apps, streaming apps, my fast food apps, all my productivity apps, and more, and I still have plenety of storage left over. I put 2-3 big games on and still have room. But if you check your phone it should give you a good idea of how much storage you use. Tablets will use similar storage. And things like "notes" and documents won't take much storage at all, so unless you're saving heavy movies, your phone storage should be a good indicator of what you need.
      As far as size, that depends on the person too. The 11" models, if you buy them with a keyboard cover, it will be slightly crammed, but more portable. The 13" models or 12.4" models will feel like more traditional keyboards as far as the space they take, but they are bigger.
      11" models are more light and portable, 12-13" models are better for productivity and long typing sessions. 11" models work with productivity, amazingly, but in limited spurts since it's a smaller keyboard. You can always just buy a case and a bluetooth keyboard to avoid that though.
      As far as what tablet to get, I say it depends on your ecosystem. iPads are amazing. And I personally love Galaxy tabs, it depends on the person. I think having an iPhone and getting a Galaxy Tab is a mistake though. But if you already have an Android phone, I would suggest a Galaxy Tab, mainly because of the value. The new iPads that just released for example, if you got only an 11" iPad it starts in the US at $999+$129 for a stylus+$200 for a keyboard, that's nearly $1,500. You can get an 11" Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 for $699+the stylus is free and only $200 for the Samsung keyboard. Even less if you get the Dexnor (I like the Dexnor).
      All that to say, get a tablet in the ecosystem you are in. If you are in Android, you will find a better value with Galaxy tabs and more integration with the things you already use, you can use quick share, share your text messages, and more.
      Which tablet? Assuming you're on Android, it all depends. I have no idea what medical school entails and what you will use. If you want something for taking notes, writing papers, things like that, the FE series will work great. It just depends on the size as far as which one you get. If you on the other hand really want extra power or AMOLED (the two main pros for upgrading) the Tab S9 and s9 Plus are amazing too, and if you really want more power and amoled, if you're willing to sacrifice and go used, the Tab S8 Plus (not the Tab S8) has amoled, and it's faster than the fe series, just as the cost of water resistance.
      Overall knowing you may do productive work, if I had to guess, I'll guess the Tab S9 FE Plus, the Tab S8 Plus, or the Tab S9 Plus, one of those is probably right for you, assuming you're on Android. I could be wrong though, if you plan to only use a keyboard occasionally or if you don't plan to get a book cover keyboard.
      Hopefully my ramblings helped some!

From what I know they are slow Android updates and don't give as many. For US residents specifically they don't sell in the US so you wouldn't get a warranty. @AndroidDigest  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It depends on what prices you're finding them at. The s9 Fe Plus in my opinion will have better battery life, it has a fingerprint sensor in the power button, it has water resistance. And you're going to get an extra update. The S8 Plus is going to have a better screen and it's going to be faster. AMOLED is a pretty big deal and if I were to find them for the same price I would lean towards the S8 Plus but not by much. And if you're really swayed by the water resistance and the other things, I wouldn't blame you at all. you also have to consider that if you're going on the used market to get that deal on the S8 Plus, you will have some wear and tear with it being a used device, and the FE Plus won't. And if you find a $50 or $100 price difference that can really sway someone one way or the other too. I'd say follow what you really want here, at an even price with even wear and tear I'm leaning S8 Plus but I could be swayed due to wear and tear and price

    4 A78 @ 2.4 ghz 4 A55 @ 2.0 and 8 gb RAM isn't bad for a topish-tier mid-range tablet for 400 USD isn't bad but once you start going over 450 USD it starts becoming less attractive very fast.

      It's about screen size though. The S9 Ultra costs a ridiculous amount because it has a larger screen size. But around this price in the US, the OnePlus pad, the Google Pixel tablet, all the good competitors all have smaller screen sizes. Just like the S9 is ridiculously cheap with similar specs to the S9 Ultra, that extra screen size in tablets costs money.
      I'm not saying it's the best tablet at this price, just saying I think it's reasonable

      Hard to say. Most people don't need the extra power of the S9. The FE models are still fairly good. And the FE Plus is a larger screen. I think the simple thing you have to ask yourself is, do you have the money to get a higher tier model? Do you prefer the smaller size of a tablet or larger size? And do you really really need that extra power? Are you a very high end gamer or a reason for that power? Those questions can lean your in one direction

    Right now I have 3 options in mind but I would need honest confirmation about which team and why you would choose it based on the price (dollars):
    • Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE+ (8/128 - $500).
    • Lenovo Tab P12 with keyboard and tablet pen ($8/256 - $430).
    • Xiaomi Pad 6 (8/256 - $400).
    The Lenovo supposedly has 2 years of software updates and 4 years of security updates, while the Xiaomi has 3 years of software updates and 5 years of security updates.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Honestly, it's a very close call between all of them. I will say Lenovo tends to be very slow with software updates. Very, very slow. Xiaomi has been unreliable at times as well. I've also noticed on occasion that Lenovo will have some big bug in their update, and if it's the last software update, too bad.
      Everyone is different in this regard, if this was a conversation between a Google pixel and Samsung it would be different for me. Personally, the software feels very smooth on a Google pixel and they have been reliable with providing updates. But software updates are very important to me personally. Samsung DeX is also really nice to have on a tablet too. When you mix that together, I'm okay with getting a little bit of a slower tablet in exchange for more reliable software and better overall software.
      Xiaomi is almost always going to be a better bang for the buck hardware wise. And Lenovo provides a good value here too.
      Money is really tight nowadays for a lot of people. So that's $70 and getting a keyboard with it can be very significant. Especially if you're someone who was planning to buy a keyboard separately. It's really hard for me to give you a firm answer here.
      I think both of the bottom two devices are going to give you a slightly better value for the hardware. I think the top device is going to give you more reliable software and a more reliable experience with updates and things like that. And I think the Fe plus is a very well-rounded device. Even as I've been talking about this and thinking about if I were making the decision myself, I would go back and forth because it's such an even decision. I think it just depends on how much you value the hardware, the keyboard, and the software. For what it's worth, Lenovo also makes amazing keyboards, often better than Samsung's. I would lean towards the Fe plus but not by much. And as someone who can't get a warranty in the US on a Xiaomi tablet. I would personally go back and forth between Lenovo and Samsung here.
      But I definitely can't make that decision for you. Maybe others will have opinions in the comments, but hopefully my ramblings helped a little bit

      @@AndroidDigest Okay, thank you very much for the information, there I was looking a little more in detail about the functions of each of the tablets, and although I am quite attracted by the power, the speakers and the good screen of the Xiaomi, I have seen the capabilities of multitasking and multimedia from Samsung, and there I saw an offer of 600 dollars for the Samsung Galaxy S9 FE+ 12/256 for 600 dollars. And taking into account the value of the equipment when changing it for another in the future, I am determined that in the end the Samsung option will be the one that will benefit me the most in the long term.

      And that is a clear sign that you, if you are looking for a tablet, that you should get a Tab S9 or a Tab S8 or something with a stronger processor. For those people that are OKAY with a little less performance, they may not notice. But if you would, then it's pretty clear what you should do. I think this tablet performs well for the money, BUT there are faster options if performance is more important to you. If you need to stay at this price, the OnePlus Pad is a great option. But you'll sacrifice some screen size, the s-pen in the box, and Samsung DeX/Samsung's updates. If you don't want to make those sacrifices, the s8 or S9 may be a good option, or the S9 Plus.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes and no. To my knowledge, it's suppose to run in FHD. There are users on Reddit saying the S9 FE runs in FHD, and there was a glitch for a while causing it not to run in FHD. A lot of users reported this apparently on multiple devices, not just the tab fe.
      But on my FE Plus it's showing no FHD. I think it's a glitch, I expect it to be resolved. This should DEFINITELY run Netflix in 1080p especially since the S9 FE is.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's obviously up to you. It's always my preference to stay in the same ecosystem. A Google Pixel phone has quick share and can quickly share files between the phone and your tablet. In the Google messages app you can sync those messages with your Android tablet too. By going into the messaging app and the settings, and going to device pairing. You also get the s pen that comes with it which is very it won't be as powerful as an iPad but it's definitely not slow. It's going to be similar in performance to your pixel. The regular FE is a good choice but it's smaller. It's cheaper though. The FE Plus is basically the same thing but larger. It's just a preference thing. But both of them will serve you well. You could also look for sales on last year's Galaxy tabs and they will do just as good also. Like the tab S8 or S8 Plus. Those two tablets will be slightly faster. But they will probably have a little worse battery life too. But they have a couple of other perks. Hopefully this helps.
