I buy windows from Danny Rossa and he's the best. I highly recommend both his service and the windows. Anyways, I just bought a house with two broken windows and was wondering how the heck I could repair them. By chance I stumbled on his repair video. Perfecto!!! Now I know what to do.

OMG Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!!!!! We bought a 130 yr old farmhouse 5 years ago. It was a foreclosure and it was vacant for a few years. Needless to say some of the vinyl windows had cracks and some holes. We took one of them to the local hardware and they said they couldn't fix them because it was double pane. I have black duct tape on one of them and another is just a piece of pink Styrofoam, duct taped in the window. Classy!!! We're in Michigan and I really need my windows fixed before winter this year, tired of the cool breezes in February! I've searched for 5 years on how to get these fixed!!! Again, THANK YOU!!!!! :)

About to start this project on my vinyl windows. I did some large Wood Casement Windows in my last house by watching a video just like yours. You made this look simple and my only challenge will be finding a reasonably priced glass company. I moved a thousand miles. Thanks for taking the time to pass along your knowledge and skills.

    Thanks Danny,
We're buying a house in Maine that has several windows in need of repair/replacement before we can close. I was worried the seller might not be willing to take care of it, which would leave it up to me. At first I was thinking I would need to buy entire replacement windows, but then got to thinking that it might be possible to repair the broken glass and seals so I did a search and came up with your video.

Nice video. I work for a glass factory, and we actually make the glass, coat the glass, and then make IGU’s. The only thing we don’t do is put them in vinyl. Now I can change out my leaking IGU’s in my replacement windows.

  • @TubedAZYou

    Thanks Danny.
Your video enabled me to understand enough about what the process was to shop around for a fair deal. In Phoenix, a Milgard 4'x5' vinyl window glass replacement should run less than $300. I got quotes as high as 600-800 dollars, so shopping around helps. I "could" have done the work myself for around $150, but then I could hurt myself and/or break the window during installation ... and so on. Thanks sooo much for schooling us on windows.

I just needed to replace my IGU( seal broke so condensation developed) when the manufacturer only sent me the glass(frame was obsolete). This was the best video. It was exactly how you demonstrated. I had to REALLY snap in the "glazing beads" using a small hand vise grip though. Nolocal glass business would even think of doing this for me. Thank goodness I'm kinda handy(for a female). Thank you SOOO much.

Glad that you specifically mentioned Low-E glass filled with argon gas and what to do about that one . We had one crack horizontal on us for no apparent reason at all and checked around to see what it would cost to get just the upper replaced .One place (I won't mention their name) said they couldn't find an upper sash replacement and that they would have to replace the whole thing upper and lower for several hundred dollars .When we asked where we could find just the upper part they told us it was a ""trade secret"" .What a bunch of BS .

@@Chuby420 Or, in the case of the COVID situation, it helps to know how to do this stuff yourself, like in my situation. Where there is no Glass Repair open in Michigan, you might have to get your hands dirty. Being self reliant feels a lot better than being dependant on someone.

Angel Reyes, you’re only out there to make money. Let’s break it down $320 - $60 = $260. That’s $260 in your pocket. You pay your ILLEGAL people $7 per hour. You keep $253.

Thanks, this is very helpful. I won't be learning the hard way on this one. One suggestion though, you may want to elaborate on the term "caulk". There are lots of caulking material, I assume you would be suggesting a silicone type with high adhesion properties and will provide a tight seal as well. Your expert advise on that would be helpful too.
