Really appreciate the positive review of this game; I've enjoyed it very much and it distresses me to see some gamers complaining that the episodes are too short, or that there isn't enough action, or things like that. For me, as an Expanse fan who occasionally plays games but not enough to call myself a "gamer," I've found that the game scratches my Expanse itch extremely well. But beyond that, I think the writing, set design, etc. has been outstanding, really on par with the show, which I never thought I would be able to say. These devs "get" The Expanse and it shows. And when I watch people play the game without any knowledge of the franchise (books or show), some of them seem to get it too, but others... I dunno, they're not reading the material they come upon, they're not interacting with the NPCs, or, worst of all, they aren't paying attention to stuff that happens in the game because they're busy in their chats or whatever. And, I mean, there's nothing wrong with that kind of game play in general - I appreciate the allure of a speed run or the sense of community you get from a chat, but those things just don't work for this game, just like you can't watch the TV show while texting your buddies on your phone. Both the game and the show require that you pay attention to the story and think about the issues being presented; without that attention, you will probably be bored, and indeed some players have seemed to be just that. It's a shame, because it's SO good. But you're right, the violence, the language, and I would add the themes are for grown-ups, and grown-ups who are into story above all else. For people like that, this is SO very good. I hope enough of them find it. I would love to see a Season 2!

@@wolfesmediaden The books are absolutely great. I started reading them after I found the show and absolutely loved them. Made myself wait until each season was over before I read the corresponding book, because the books do tend to be better, as surprising as that is. The books also continue way past the series, but with a big time jump. Made it a logical place to end the series though...
Episode 5 is like 10 minutes long... this is one of the worst telltale games ive played. Ive played TWD all seasons at least twice, but with the expanse, im 100% sure i will never play the first season ever again. If i had the opportunity to refund, i would. just watch somebody play it on YT, the "critical choices" suck, and theres only like 2 major choices, whereas in TWD there were multiple crucial choices PER EPISODE... THE EXPANSE has ca. 2 crucial choices in the entire season. I do not recommend purchasing. dont let yourself be fooled by the ratings they like to show you firsthand. "Telltale looks its finest it ever has" which is true, graphics are insane, however the game is a 4/10 on a "very good day".
I've said it before and I'll say it again, this game is extremely polarizing. Lots of people love it, lots of people hate it. Kind of reminds me of initial reactions to The Last Jedi. I'll agree with you on one thing though, I definitely don't think it is anywhere near as good as the first Walking Dead game they did. I loved the Lee-Clementine dynamic, and thought that was an absolutely brilliant game.
Big fan of the TV series over here also I played The Wolf among us and TWD series back in the day. This game is just... dissapointing, i'm gonna bail at the half of the episode II. I'ts boring, full of go fetch stuff, very repetive and the 0 G movement is awful. And the history is no better, character are predictable and it's a precuel, we KNOW what it's gonna happen! a secuel from the series it would have been better. Not recomended.

I definitely think the game could have been much, much better but overall I still enjoyed it. I'm guessing they felt they HAD to set it as a prequel because there are still 3 more books that take place after the point they ended the TV series.
Could've cut out the first 2 mins of this review. Got pretty boring, and I think you should talk a bit faster. Playing this on normal speed was honestly unbearable. 1.25 speed was perfect

Just finished episode 2. So far it’s definitely living up to the hype quality of the show, and that’s saying something.
