I'm really impressed with Toussaint as an antagonist. What a great cult leader type of opponent. You can really see how she's angling for the whole replacement mommy/family angle and she does it really well too. Even makes me wonder if she might actually mean it, despite expecting that not to be the case or at least still be a bad idea, because it's going to be the usual brutal cult enforcement. The fact that she can pitch the sale well enough to create some doubt regardless is very impressive.
First of all thank u for playing it, it's always nice to hear your thoughts on the game but especially on this since you're the expanse fan too. I agree about the episodes length, and perhaps 2 weeks release would be okay if the episode was 1,5 hours. and I wish there were more "big" choices and not one per episode and then 4-5 in the last episode. Overall, I enjoyed the game and the story, as a fan of Drummer I'm satisfied with it, I liked voice acting a lot , I've seen people complain about it but idk I don't see a problem here besides not having the show actors for certain characters, even though it's not a big deal imo. Exploring in space and zero gravity was also cool, so were fights in zero gravity.
You've nailed it at the end; you summed up when Telltale (I know this was Deck9, but that still stands) sounded like before they closed down :/ It sounds like they're rigid on following the same episodic structure and pacing where they don't really need to. And *GOD* the pacing! I'm shocked how short these episodes are; there's nothing wrong on having dialogue driven games (hello, visual novels), but since this had the devs of True Colors, you'd expected a little more variety in exploration.
Globally that was really good, the story and the characters were interesting, the animations and environment well made, and it was cool to see the effects of your choices and actions from previous parts come to fruition in this last one. But it was also quite short and I agree with everything you said at the end. Seeing how short it is in total, they definitely should have released it all in one go, especially if the whole game was already finished when they released the 1st episode. Maybe it could have worked in 2 parts, with a good cliffhanger and one week wait in-between, but there really wasn't enough progression or suspenseful events in the last half of the game for 5 episodes. Still really enjoyed the playthrough though, and you made a lot of good choices too! :)
Just caught up and finished this. Drummer is such a great character (one of the best in the series) and so I'm glad they did her so well in this. Thanks for playing.
7:50 If the optimism is too unrealistic the statement gets rejected and the calming effect falls flat. Makes sense. 44:15 That most likely means Rayen already came to kill Arlen/help you. It wasn't a spontaneous decision, he just hesitated when it came to actually doing it. 46:05 Speaking of facial animations I noticed a few good ones aswell. Cox is giving you a subtle approving nod when you're sneaking up on Alren, a sad look by Drummer with around that "I understand" exchange with Rayen. Toussaint in general during the confrontation with her. 47:20 That's the problem with episodic releases in general. If you've got a story you can't just have weeks, months or even years of breaks in the middle of it. There's too much forgotten inbetween to continue building the story well and probably also connecting with the characters when half of it and them has left your memory again. Personally, I think it's just a bad idea period. Especially for story and character heavy games. Only make cuts at natural breaking points, or if you're forced to because you're budget is too tight or sth. Actively aiming for it seems just foolish. 49:35 And that's another problem. You don't just have to get pepole interested once, but keep them interested. Much easier to just not continue for multiple reasons when you're already forced to take a break anyway.
Thank you for doing this. I wanted to know the story told in the game with details but i didn’t want to actually play the game. So your videos fit perfectly for me.
Amazing summary. As the story is really engaging and good. These episodes are damn short. I am happy to run it with You. But now I have 0 motivation to get it. Some episodes had minimum of choices and narrative changes. Does it feel good as a show, but very uncooked as a game, when you expect multi playthroughs... I enjoyed it anyway. Thank You for another great trip!
This is a fine comeback game from a newly reconstituted Tell Tale Games, and bodes well for the future of the Studio. I look forward to their next offering, which I hope will have more meat on the bone, more 'substance' to the story, and if it must use the multiple choice (where that choice has "meaningful" consequences) then do it RIGHT!! Where those choices cause debate, discussion among those playing the game. and properly sized episodes if the episodic format remains.
I can't say much for the gameplay, but it was very enjoyable to watch at least. All the cinematics were really well done. And it got me interested enough to start watching the show. I'm looking forward to when Drummer makes her appearance.
In my opinion, the game lacked substance to justify the episodic format. It would have felt much better as a compact 5 hour adventure. The old Teltale games had total playtimes of around 10 to sometimes 13 hours (TWD1). With that, you can justify the episodes much more.
There is another 'extra' episode. If you have seen the TV series, or read the books, you will know what happens to Julie Mao and the fate of the Protomolecule.

I love the series and I played episode 1-4 . It's really good.
I think they just overhyped it for this episode, the rating will basically speak for themselves once everyone has played it. Then again, Deck Nine made this game, Telltale was just publishing it.
A disappointing ending from my point of view. Bad aspects: The final fight was absolutely ridiculous, a nonsense, the characters were not very developed in depth, same for the story. Good parts: The MK Core was an interesting idea, mining station part, world build, characters at first glance and their background were cool but not enough.

thanks welonz.
i agree with your summary.
Will you play ep 6...???? I think you play as Avasarala. Its like a bonus episode.
Try out lost in random, I think you might like it, you play a lot of variety games so I'm not sure
I think they just overhyped it for this episode, the rating will basically speak for themselves once everyone has played it.

A shame the show ended with season 6 (for now?)
How did the crew of Artemis survive?
they went to the other ship before the artemis blew up
@@Welonz Yes but did i miss something because they never discussed to evac. Seems like they rushed it. But was a good story
Drummer told Rayen to get the crew to evac after he shot Arlen!
A disappointing ending from my point of view.

The only good thing this made me watch the show. But for $40 this was extremally disappointing.
dissapointing from decknine tbh....this game is worse than the GOT one which says alot...all episodes are so short and the story was so weak.
If the main character was hot I would definitely watch this by the way your gameplays are great
What
she is hot, what are you talkin about?
She's hot as hell, dude
