As a fellow American living in the Philippines for the past 6 years, I loved this video! I was worried that you were going to be like a couple of the popular European vloggers living in BGC and only show BGC and travel to other super high-end Philippines locations. This proves that you are going to showing more typical experiences in the Philippines. I hope you keep this up.
Maybe you are referring to Juicy Vlog.. But they are genuine and love the Philippines Lucy's parent have been here recently and they have also videos where they're walking to the streets of Manila and other parts of the country...
Hello everyone! Thanks for supporting Live the Philippines and we hope we did justice in showing the Lockwoods our side of town. We love this family! Thanks again!
Your hospitality was very kind. I enjoyed seeing your home and learning about the different foods. I'm glad you all have become friends. Thank you and love the rooftop area!! ❤️
Hello Lockwood Family ! I was born and grew up and studied in Metro Manila. But now I am living in Alberta Canada for 15 years. I was happy to see your experience with the Filipino family who invited you in their home to see a different side of life in Manila as a contrast to your life in BGC. I admire how your family is willing to try so many new things and your great respect for Filipino culture and the people.
It felt like such a fun place to live! We really appreciated the opportunity to get that close to the actual lifestyle because of their offer to show us around! 🙏🏼❤️🤗
Beautiful people. Great content. There are many different ways of life in the Philippines but no matter where you go, you will find the most amazingly friendly people on the planet there. I will be there again at end of year... can't wait.
Guys don't know if you already have plans for the 15th but I think you should check out the Pahiyas Festival in Lucban, Quezon Province. (I know you've been to Quezon Province before when you went to Villa Escudero, but this is a differrent part of the province.) The Pahiyas Festival is one of our most popular festivals here where the houses are decorated with colorful rice leaves and produce!
Phil and Erin, your genuine love for our country shines in all of your videos. The PH is on a growth curve and too many exciting developments happening all at the same time. You’ll have endless content in the future. I’d like to see future videos of your family riding the Metro Manila Subway, the New Manila International Airport, the Pasig River Esplanade, the new museums in Rizal Park, new casinos being built, etc, etc. And who knows, maybe you can appear in a cameo in a PH movie someday, :)
i think our tourism secretary should do collabs with family vloggers too. the government should take notice of prominent vloggers like the Lockwoods fam, and maybe they could legislate laws to protect them and offer better easier process for official documents. the digital nomad bill needs to be as good or even better than existing ones from the SEA.
Phil and Colt eating that 1day old chick…you guys are officially honorary Filipinos 😆 It’s great to see you guys actually experiencing the real Philippines and local life. Maybe another local from the provinces might invite you too to experience that side of the Philippines too 😊. Definitely our favorite American family 🙌🏻
Wonderful and lovely hosts to an equally wonderful and lovely guests. ❤ I love Andok's chicken. Baliwag (its close competition) is good too. 😋 And love those sunglasses Mrs. Erin 😎
Nice that Your Family tried the true Authentic Filipino Way of Life. Your first Stop is also Popularly Called as FAMOUS UNIVERSITY BELT it is where I graduate UE (UNIVERSITY OF THE EAST). Explore More and Have FUN
This episode is so adorable. Never thought you’d be featuring Old Sta. Mesa where I spent some part of my childhood. That home is a legit simple and humble Filipino home experience.
We loved having this experience and perspective. It's so great to see how people live their daily lives. It makes it easier to understand a culture when we travel and visit new places.
Wow,I really admire this family,Lockwood,Your such a great parents to your children, opening their eyes to be always humble,I see Colt is a very appreciative kid.Your showing the world your good character, though you have a great life in US you remain Lovely and humble, accept and love our country,Thank you for experiencing our rural areas. We love you.
Its so nice that someone properly invited them to their home in Manila. Hope others will follow suit inviting you to their homes in various parts of the Philippines and let you savor different foods that are popular and originated in that particular part of the country. Like La Paz Batchoy its Origin is in La Paz Iloilo City and so on....
Wow! I’m impressed with Colt for being a very open minded kid. I’m a Filipino and never eat 1 day chick. Good job for exploring the other side of Manila
Amazing episode; one of the best ! You all brought it home, literally. Your awesome hosts were so gracious, opening their home and neighborhood to the world. Cole is an amazing kid, unafraid of trying unique food, and always grateful. This video is one for the books. Loved it.
@@livethephilippines Looking forward to travel again to Cebu most especially going North and try to explore the famous Bantayan and Kalanggaman Islands.
Filipinos are very welcoming. It’s a good thing the Lockwoods experience a bit of the locals living in Manila, which is very different from BGC neighborhoods.
Such an awesome vlog fam!!! So great that you all had a home cooked meal inside a local’s home. WOW! How special is that. My mouth was watering when she was stirring that pancit and then I saw the mango and lost it😆🤣I’m hungry now.
I was having a hard time holding myself back from diving into the food as soon as walked it. So good and so great to experience the comfort of enjoying a meal in a home. 🫶
Oh wow, I hang out at that particular SM branch ( I live nearby) most days because of the heat. Never would expect you guys to be in my neck of woods at any point in time. I'm stoked! lol
I've enjoyed your vlogs since you first came to visit the Philippines and it's really cool that you're venturing out to the other "boroughs" of Metro Manila. And I can imagine how it must've felt as it seems this vid was taken during the crazy heat wave that's hitting all of SE Asia right now.
#4 In my 45 plus years coming to the PH, I have never met a family that was not gracious and if you come to their home they will prepare a feast for you and maybe a dozen other folks. So much food.
I love this episode so much. It’s just so genuine and shows the true side of Metro Manila. It’s so nice to see the side and genuine reaction of you guys to our culture ♥️
We love this experience too. It's easy to visit someplace and only get one side of what it's like to live there but we want to experience all sides. We know there are many more ways of life than just this too.
I absolutely love this!!! Whenever I visit the Philippines (I live in the U.S.) I have the privilege to live in different parts of Manila. BGC is hands down my favorite city but nothing beats getting the real deal outside of BGC. Especially the food! This video really gave it a different, real life experience and it’s not always cookie cutter for everyone so I appreciate their hospitality (Pinoy pride) and the adventure that you continue to bring us on. Love this content❤
I just loved this video! It’s good to feature how people actually live outside BGC. It’s also great to see how you continue to try different street foods. It was fun to watch!!😍
Wow this is a great content. This is how beautiful the Philippines is when you are a vlogger you can do a lot of contents that will depict the real Philippines. You can do nature like mountain trekking, island hopping, beach adventures, diffent foods, and many many more. Not unlike in the west especially colder countries doing vlogging indoor or even outdoors are boring and monotonous.
The local side of Manila, not your normal BGC quite and no traffic. It will be an eye opener, but keep you mind open you will see things you normally don't see like street vendors and homeless people. Just embrace the culture and never compare it to the Western side of living, you will see that people are happy with what they have and what they can offer with better little of what they have.❤
Yeah guys, I love that you are really trying to experience how to live like the locals. It’s really been so hot lately Earth is in the recovery phase of the solar storm now, which will last a few more days because the storm hit our planet for 6 days. That’s why around the world is experiencing a terrible El Niño. Forecasters use a five-level scale to measure geometric storms & NASA said is expected to be in 2025.
