    i actually kind of LOVE the flowerbeds. it looks like city hall paid for someone to do an outdoor art project and got exactly what they paid for haha. and if it helps, i understood that the beds in the community school yard were raised garden beds for learning, so that came across perfectly!

    If I had anywhere near these skills, I'd talk so much trash as I detailed. That flowerbed work at the school was the kind of heat check only basketball players would know. Outstanding stuff.

    I feel like all I can ever say is overwhelmingly positive and that my mind is blown so I’m going to cry and critique for once …
    1. I need 6 episodes a day its never long enough
    2. When you go in to the pipe network I have to close my eyes and squeal
    … thats all I’ve got 😂
    Oh btw, the new tiny park asset has a cute “community garden” looking variant and other variants which are really good for school detailing
    But yet again knocked it out the park, the town has such a coherent personality - and that farm build was tough to follow!

    Though I agree with the hate for the flower beds in vanilla, they actually match the flags on the city hall and it's a super cute/creative vanilla detailing idea! Loving how everything is detailed and how the town in developing! The detailing music also gets me pumped and feel happy to detail in my own city hehe. The custom plaza behind the city hall also looks amazing! Ingenious design :D
    Can't wait for the next episodes! More industry and then trains - um yes please!

    I've personally found that zoning low-density on max. 2x2 and high density on 3x3 or 4x4 works great because of the weird scale-ratio in the game. I mean how on earth can a small residential house have the same footprint as a big *ss skyscraper lol.

    New ep! ❤ Love the community school placement and detailing, it looks so much better placing it this way, that fenceless playground next to the road always bothered me. Do the new tiny parks require road access? (don't have the pack yet) If not could they be used instead of the flower beds? Personally I don't mind them but you seemed to be underwhelmed by them so...

    Building the airport on a fertile area is NOT a good idea for the sustainability of the city...
    I don't like the layout of resitential areas at 6 squares from a main road with a small spur to connect them to it. If anything, instead of drawing two parallel roads that close to eachother, it would be best to put the first residential area road at 8 squares from the main road and zone on one side (leaving a four squares large zonable area between the back of the houses and the main road to eventually be transformed into commercial or offices or heigh density residential when the town grows and needs more density, that way you won't need to change anything (escept maybe to change the highway road to a normal road to allow zoning).
    Rolling stock/bus/tram workshops and depots are rarely next to a town center hall...

    Okay, I'm super curious. I've made it through 3 episodes and one thing seems glaringly missing from your cities and farm areas and I'm just wondering why? Water. There are no ponds, fountains, or anything watery. I live on a farm and I can say from experience there would be water in several places in a farm region. I have a small town nearby (pop 6000) and there is literally a fountain in every park. Is that a feature the game lacks or do you not like such things? Mind you this is not criticism in any way, just massively curious. I am writing this as you are detailing the third episode and I think I do see a fountain just put in in Hamilton Meadows. I do love your city and it's fascinating watching you. Water though, is very needed. It's extremally soothing and mentally essential.

    • @fewcandy
      @fewcandy  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's honestly a big limitation of the game, so in vanilla the water mechanics aren't great and you can't just create ponds or lakes or rivers wherever you want. If you get the mod Extra Landscaping Tools that has the ability to add in water spawn points, but not in the vanilla game as this series is. And then when it comes to ponds/fountains, again the assets are limited, the one fountain asset is unique so can only be placed once in vanilla, and the two ponds we have come from the Hotels and Retreats DLC, so you'll see some of those added as we progress, but they are generally quite large, one would have fitted nicely into the farm area though granted! If you watch my two modded series, Auridon and Solitude, you'll see I do a fair amount with water (and there's much more coastline on both of those to play with!). I personally live by the coast and love water, but it is a glaring limitation with the vanilla game (unfortunately the same in CS2!)
