Akrapovic Evolution Exhaust on BMW S 1000 R

- I get a new street bike to replace my Ducati track bike, a BMW S 1000 R and I cannot leave well enough alone installing a Akrapovic Evolution Titanium exhaust. What is the weight savings? Sounds difference? and how does it perform?

Hello! Thank you so much for the kind words. I would add that the pops and "spits" from the Evolution exhaust are the unspent fuel igniting once they reach the atmosphere in the can and not true harmful backfires. I love this bike. it fits my personality I guess.

I have a 2023 S1000r and it's my first sports bike, that quick shift is just sooo fun to use.
I agree. I am not sure if you saw a subsequent video, but my S 1000 R blew the motor due to a recall on the rocker arms per the dealership. I would double check with the dealership to make sure there is not the same recall on your bike. Good news is BMW is covering the cost of the new engine and I should ger it back next week. Hello Scott, I just ordered a 2024
S1000R in base model. I didn't want the electronic suspension due to canyon and tracking. Will eventually order the Ohlins front and rear later. My weight is 215lbs. without my gear and would like to get the bike a little lighter. I can save weight with a lighter battery and may go to a full exhaust like yours. I know what everyone will say is to just loose weight! I am 72yrs. old and a power lifter so that weight loss isn't an option. I would like to know if you had a drastic fuel decrease and if you still have a little flat spot in the mid range? I was able to find a video of a 2022 rider that installed full system with a Brentune which brought the fuel down to 32-34mpg street riding which is a drastic change from 44-46mpg. A good friend has a 2015 S1000R and is getting a average of 45mpg with canyon riding at a brisk pace. Earl use to race in the late 80's and an excellent rider and teacher. I also have a Suzuki 1000R which I use for canyon and tracking. At my age I wanted a more upright bike and ordered the BMW, should be here in 2024 end of Feb.

Hello again Joe. You are a man after my own heart. We gotta maintain our mass for the weightlifting. My best buddy is 60+ and hold many National records (I'm not sure of which federations though). I agree on the your suspension decision. I was an idiot and waited too long on an analog RR thinking I had time to buy as nobody would want it. Nope! It sold fast. I think I'm going the R6 route for the track. Good luck with the canyons.
I'm new to BMW motorcycles, but interested. In your opinion, about how much should one reasonably expect on average out the door price-wise on this model? Inversely, what amount would you consider to be unreasonable? Thanks
Hello, The S 1000 R with the M package is a $20k bike retail. BMWs are considered a premium brand and usually have more margin in them for the dealer, but bikes are not like cars, they typically have less margin. I also was told that the manufacturers are charging dealers a administrative fee on top of their cost of the bike. This is a backdoor way of increasing manufacturer's profit without raising the list/advertised price. It effectively raises the list price. I went to Mancuso in Houston and their admin fee was $750! We are entering the "off" season and if you are in a cold winter climate, I would start off taking any add-on fee off and then less 10% of the sales price. That is fairly reasonable during the winter months and at the end of the model year. Also, I used this tactic before, let the sales person think you are financing through the dealership (they may think they will make up any difference between giving you a deep discount on the sales price in the financing). Do not pay any financing application fees or anything, get their simple interest loan and pay it off the first payment. Interest is usually free for the first 45 to 60 days. Hope this helps.

Yes! It is now. Lots of upgrades on it now too. I’ll have to show it. Maybe on a TH-cam short or something
