Long time rider here. I've done loud pipes in the past. My opinion is...loud pipes beat you up and cause fatigue, especially on long rides. I just keep the stock pipes on whatever I ride. YMMV.
If only the stock exhaust didn't weight 20 pounds and choke the engine...the gsxr pipe mod is supposed to be best of both worlds. Quiet and more power (with jetting).
that pop i think means its running lean , id be taking a spark plug reading for color..... all the street legal bikes ive bought new came running too lean for emissions in my opinion anyway , one of my first always mods is removing the emissions bs & ecu flash if possible or if not a tuner/dongles ect to adj mix accordingly.. i have an Arrow silencer on my 901 husky with the spark arrester insert which did soften it some but its still louder than i wish it was
im just gonna edit the whole thing, but in all cases the popping is a lean condition. popping on deceleration is the air screw too on the lean side, also if you are closer to that lean limit it will pop when its cold but wont when its at normal temps, and also the hig rev gunshots i mentioned is being too lean because the main jet is too small. Sorry for the wrong info before
Ive always used FMF and all their products come with a jetting guide. Always had to make a change when i put an exhaust on. Dont have a carbureted bike anymore so havent done any jetting in a long time
Pop on decel is after fire due to lean condition because you didn't change the jets to have all that air flow. Fuel injection can correct it in idle but once you accelerate you'll still run lean. So with carbs = bigger jets, with fuel injection = dynojet kit.
LoL enjoy !! im watching your video at work in a boot/air cast , broke my right ankle riding the ORBDR with my son about 5 weeks ago so 3more weeks and i should be walking on it again , we'll see how it feels but i think as soon as im ok to walk on it im going riding
I just got out of my boot. Not I have a tie up brace for two more. But I’m gonna try to ride with this. It was so hard to get back to walking after being off it for 6 weeks.
have a great ride !! it'll be 8 weeks for me at least before ill be able & last time i had a broken foot/ankle/leg anything was 1999 so im wandering how much different the recovery/rehab is going to go at 56 vs 32 my fingers are crossed @@adventureundone
I bought an almost new KTM 500 EXC a few years ago. PO put one of those motocross style exhausts on the bike, it was painful to listen to. Took a minute but I found a brand new KTM EXC exhaust that someone took of their bike before riding. It has the perferated core in the back. Bike is way less tiring to ride. Still has way more power than I'll ever really need.
Nice video, man! 👍 I’m going for the DG RST slip on with the ultra quiet core insert when my OEM pipe gets too rusty for my liking. I like tone, but I hate volume!
You cant get rid of all the popping when you let off the gas on a dr650 unless you change the carb. The stock carb does not have an idle enrichening circuit that adds some gas when you let off the gas like most all other carbs do. You can make it a little better by raising the idle speed and setting the fuel screw a touch rich.
backpressure is needed for newer motors cause computers+ jet air /gas is set factory to work only there settings! less exaust is missfire/less gas/ more carbon build-up.. ..stay with factory.. or like u did ....bit more backpressure is ok.. ensures better operation and lube and better engine stopping... luv quieter!!!
All gasoline-powered motor vehicles on the planet are required to pass EPA requirements, leaning out AFR mixture 14.7 to 1 in closed loop. This will cause some popping on deceleration. To get more top end HP, reducing back pressure by deleting the catalytic converter and the restricted OEM muffler is the first step. The next step is to flash the ECU with a fuel map and many other parameters with something like the Dynojet PV3 to add more fuel required do to reducing back pressure in turn causing it to run even leaner. Otherwise, it will pop a lot like that, and the engine will run hotter. To further reduce the popping and increase performance it will need a wide band O2 kit fallowed by data logging and tuning.
Love your content and how you edit your videos. You get right to the point. I need a little help with my new XR150L Honda. I purchased some new strobe bulbs for the taillight to flash, but cannot get the lens off. Yes, I know some bikes have screws, but I have looked all over and there are NO Screws that hold the rear lens on. Any help would be appreciated!!
You have to remove the rear rack and seat to get at the taillight. It’s in the owner’s manual how to do it, but instructions are cryptic, at best. I put a running/stop LED in mine right after I bought it, and it’s much brighter now! Good luck!😃
You know there could be a host of issues that could causes backfires, which is what I'm hearing. Your bike looks new. Since it was having these issues with the old muffler, put the old muffler back on and have a "warranty checkup" and Suzuki will turn it for free. My Suki was 2 years old with 6k miles on it and they gave me a free tune up and narrowed the backfire to a fuel injector. My stock ride sounded beautiful so I didn't fuck with the pipes? You can't tell any performance difference when you bypass the spark arrestor. In your case, there was no spark arrester in your aftermarket exhaust. It was just a closed tube, which is why it was so loud. Whoever told you that aftermarket exhaused was the way to go scammed you. Do you honestly think that today's manufacturer will put parts on your bike to hamstring them, especially without your knowledge? No, not really. They usually tell you. For example: many moons ago, during the oil crisis, in order to sell 2-stroke in the U.S. there were all these limiters and exhaust restrictions they put on your bike. It was so stupid, as if limiting some off-road performance is going to save the world? No, it was about politics pure and simple. They wanted all 2-strokes to run lean to pass smog requirements. So, when I purchased my Yamaha IT 400 the dealer gave me for free an aftermarket kit that would allow you to take it back to default specs.
I got caught riding a dirt bike in the national forest by a ranger in 1985 and my bike had a arrester sticker on it and the ranger let me go and took the other bikes that didn’t !
Just asking do you no any muffler that would work on a 2004 125 vino but I want like a motorcycle look one I don't know what one to get can any one help me out
Just being considerate. As much as I like revving the shit out of a bike. Doing that at early morning hours waking up whole neighborhoods driving by must suck to be them. I always go by the perspective of "put yourself in their shoes". I would definitely not want to be woken up like that 4 in the morning.

The more quite the better

Exactly!
Looking for a loud exhaust for my 155 Suzuki gixxer. If you can help reach me bro

Cool video brother thinking of getting a new exhaust for my 300 rally . I’ll have to check out the delkavic

Techne! I had no idea you made motorcycle content. Awesome. 😃 I found this while looking for sound videos for the Yoshimura RS-3.
ehhhhhh, what do you ride?

Popping. Is caused by the fuel mix being either to rich or to weak ,this is due to the change in exhaust back pressure

Thanks so much for the reply. I'll look that up. Be Safe!!@@bryanbrowning5746
Popping like that is definitely lean, get a jet kit in it and it will run like a totally different bike and stop popping

OMG UR TECHNE THE ERGO MOUSE DUDE
I saw that thumbnail and i thought no fuckin way
Did you do the carb work prior to changing the exhaust ?
I got caught riding a dirt bike in the national forest by a ranger in 1985 and my bike had a arrester sticker on it and the ranger let me go and took the other bikes that didn’t !
The 350 exhaust on my CBR250 is way tooooo loud. Do you have a link to the main part? Doesnt come up on hhe main website. Not in the UK at least.
Has anyone ever tried packing stainless steel wool around a silencer, when the silencer is still too loud?
Just asking do you no any muffler that would work on a 2004 125 vino but I want like a motorcycle look one I don't know what one to get can any one help me out
can it be added in a BMW 650gt?
does this work for mopeds as well?
Heyyy, my wife has one of those under the bed! 😮 Maybe it's a hidden gift for me.
Rich fuel mix pops ,rich keeps the engine cooler at low rpm and little wind ( trail riding )!!
Bonjour super ou a tu commender cette chicane ✌️
I want to make it Louder on my atas lol
I believe he needs to up the pilot jet, his bike has too much deceleration pop. Pilot jet too lean.
I search an silent Exhaust for my Suzuki SV 650...🤔
... Need something incredibly quiet to cover up the sound of a single cylinder sport bike
❤
DUH! Just leave the stock stainless pipes on it!

I like my bikes loud
I don't know why anyone would change factory exhaust, spend money and fight to make it less loud

Well you can sneak around exploring in areas you shouldn’t be riding in at night time
Yeah as soon as my bike starts all the neighbours phone the police
To be considerate of other people.
Introverts like riding bikes too 🗿
