Looking for a change of scenery, the three wingsuit pilots Jokke Sommer, Espen Fadnes and Ludo Woerth head to Bangkok, Thailand for some 'illegal' BASE jumping.
There are thousands and thousands of skyscrapers and buildings to choose from, but in a multi-million resident city like this, landing areas (streets) are tight, crowded and full of infrastructure -- that means wires, wires and more wires. A parachute's nemesis.
After ruling out a HIGHWAY landing, the boys work with the local authorities and set aside a BASE jump the authorities will assist with, clearing streets and providing ambulance support... in case. Still, strong winds threaten this oh-so-well planned jump.
Conditions aren't 'perfect' but the boys have a window to go. So they do. But for one of the pilots the trip does not end as he expected...

The way he calm stood there said i need to do do some risk report and slight limped into the van ...He sucked that well and must have put the crowd at easy to see him stand up ....

The way he kicked at the building to prevent his body from slamming to it was pretty good risk management to me. I think that decision saved him from critical injury..

Don't underestimate a simple skydiving mistake, I shattered my L1 vertebrae skydiving in 2010. One small shift of the wind and that's it. It's a miracle I'm walking but I have titanium in my spine and will never jump again : /
Mark, I feel your pain. I underestimated a simple knee injury and I'll never box again. Long story, but keeping it brief, I can't train, lost my job I was successful in for 22 years, am now overweight and on a massive amount of antidepressants. I don't expect you to give a fuck, but my advice is find yourself another passion asap, or you could end up in the hell I'm floating about in at the moment. Boxing was my passion and the only thing I was ever good at. Now, I just lie around putting on weight and watching TH-cam, because I'm in too much pain to do anything else. I hope your back doesn't restrict you too much and you find something else that takes your interest :)

I know they show is over but these guys should do base jumps in the chinese ghost cities. There are these cities in china that have been build just to increase GDP and they are filled with tall buildings and no one around. 1 cop per 10 sq miles haha
Yeah but the arent tall enough i dont think. Ive seen those documentaries and the vid on VICE, those are just tall "buildings" not skyscrapers. Might be too dangerous cause it's too close to the ground.
I'm sure theres a few that are tall enough. It would be cutting it close though. I have seen some videos of people jumping off of some pretty short structures though. Just needs perfect conditions.

Maybe its the music but i feel these guys have a serious lack of confidence before their jumps! Watched some others where the jumpers are hyped!
They're concerned, focused and constantly question the safety of what they're about to do because this sport tends to get rid of the bold guys quite quickly. The ones who live to jump another day tend to be very good risk managers.

People should be allowed to take the risks they want to take... but it does not make them amazing people or heros. We should try and groom a culture that shuns basejumpers the same way we do drug addicts. It might save some lives.
