when they were talking about fucking up i thought the wind was gonna blow them all off course and they would all hit the statue in turn knocking its head or hand off and killing all of them plus whoever was underneath, but dude i so am gonna go windsuit flying when im older

The flight was amazing, but it was not illegally made for those reasons:
1) The sponsors would not allow their image to be associated with a illegal stunt.
2) The statue is open every day and filled with people every day, for it to be empty it must be closed for the jump.
3) Making the jump illegally is a felony and they would be in jail now (same if you try in the statue of liberty)
4) They are professional athletes, their insurance company would void if they were to do something illegal.
