    This is a set of Titleist AC 108 Blades I picked up. One of the first "Game Improvement" irons ever made!! If you want to call them that. 😂 They still look like butter knives to mean. But I decided to give them a little makeover. New ferrules, and grip, along with a complete restore of the head. Put the original paintfill colors back on them and they look great!!

    My dad bought this set in 1974 and handed it down to me in 1985 when I was in high school. It is the only set I’ve had. This was so satisfying to watch. Amazing job! And thanks for sharing.

      That's awesome! These were really fun to do! If I find another set for a good price again may do another one!

    Years ago, someone brought that club set home and thought..."how beautiful my new clubs are!". Well done, sir!

    I remember these my dad and grandad bought set when they came out , then these were my first full set of irons used in high school on golf team and beyond , replaced them in 94.. still have them now in shed . Ohhh my how tiny they are compared to my gamers now i500

      Very Cool! And for sure they are definitely little butter knives. But they are gorgeous classics! Actually currently working to complete the set soon!

      I have this set also as a hand-me-down from my dads best friend. They look exactly like the before part of this video 😂 I’ve been playing with these tiny blades for the past year , and finally am about to replace them a new set this week. I was thinking about taking them somewhere and trading them even if they’re $15 all together 😭😂 but watching this video makes me wanna keep them and maybe also get them restored someday!!! The 2 iron is insane how thin it is

    Turned out super nice! there is something super satisfying about the matte finish of the grooves and the shiny finish of the rest of it!

    Great job on the vintage Acushnet. Really enjoy watching the process and it is making me start looking for the equipment so I can start learning and testing out.

    Looks amazing. Any idea if these clubs were caster or forged?

      I dont know for certain, but I'm assuming since they are stainless steel, they are cast.

    Awesome! I have an old set of my dad’s. How much would you charge to refinish a full set?

    • @igolf906
      @igolf906  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! But I just did this set for myself to tinker with. I don't offer iron restoration.

    What grinding/polishing wheels do you use?

    • @igolf906
      @igolf906  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For getting the nicks and dings out I had Convolute wheels. For buffing wheels, I believe they are just spiral sewn wheels.
