    I have the same fridge (it’s fifteen years old) with the same problem. Your video has been invaluable and now I have a fully functioning fridge again. Thanks 😊

    Thanks for this great video Aaron. I have exactly the same problem with my 15+ year old CF50. Your video helped me big time to work out where to apply pressure to get the base cover off and what type of force I could use without breaking anything. I couldn't have done it otherwise. I reckon your cut and join solution is the way to go. It saves a lot of extra messing around and routing the wires. I've just ordered my replacement thermistor and awaiting to install. Thanks again for putting in the effort to make a video to help people like me and others. You're good man.

      Wonderful to read. Actually we think its a bad video as it is way to long. We have learnt our lesson now an edit our video's a lot more, but I am glad it helped anyhow. After the repair I came up with an idea for a tool to make to help lift the cover off more easily. But it took jumping in the deep end to figure that out. Oh well. 😉

    I tried removing the cover as per the video but it's incredibly difficult and prone to breaking things. In the end I cut a square into the middle of the plastic cover with a stanley knife, cut another smaller square and removed the foam, replaced the sensor (soldered to same wire and glued with thermal plaster), then put everything back. And then taped the cut out plastic cover with some strong tape. Much easier ! By the way you don't need to buy a branded Waeco thermistor part , you can buy a Negative temperature coefficient (NTC) 10 kohm thermistor for a fraction of the price, it's exactly the same thing.

    Thanks! I got mine apart. Probably in the same time frame but over a few nights. I think there is a glue between the two pieces of plastic. So I used a putty knife and rubber mallet to get in between those two things. It was still a crazy effort. Now to get it back together and see if it works.

    I have a new cfx3 cooler that now has a “warning 03” error. I replaced my PCB display after my previous one was cracked (nothing showing on display). It was working before and now it doesn’t even turn on. Got any ideas? Was this new pcb display faulty or do I need to look at the compressor control module?

    • @AaronHahnStudios
      @AaronHahnStudios  ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you sure you have enough voltage? If your battery hasn't got the grunt to run the fridge it will often call as a fault. Though that aside, I confess I am not sure. I would be getting out my multimeter to solve your problem. Sorry mate.

    Great vid ! My cfx65 won’t hold the preset temp. Ie if I set it for -5 degree. It works fine regulating temp. However, on a power reset it looses the set temp and goes to -22. Need to reset temp every time. Is it the board or thermostat ( can’t se it being thermo as it regulates) is there a backup memory battery on the board ? Thanks. Dave. port Hedland. UPDATE. It’s the main control board $92.00 from Waeco in Melbourne Australia.

    • @AaronHahnStudios
      @AaronHahnStudios  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great questions Dave. The only advice I can give is from my own experience. Though I feel if you watch the very ending of this upload, my camera man Wah speaks of how to test the thermistor which can be done from the board end without having to struggle with the base as I did. If you can rule that out as being the problem then that is a helpful start to narrowing down the issue.

    Do you know if it's possible to lock the keypad to the buttons being operated accidentally?

    • @AaronHahnStudios
      @AaronHahnStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am glad you mentioned that. Since this video I have found also my keypad "locked" as you say.. but it set locked to 2 deg. C on mine which is perfect for me & the fridge still runs to this day. So I am not bothered since it's locked to what I want. I must admit I have not found the remedy. I will inform you if I solve this issue.

    Hallo, I have a question: my dometic cf 26 fridge shows Err 1 when turned on. After time the temperature starts to jump once -21, -32, -25 and when it drops below -18, the compressor starts. Later it works normally, but the temperature inside is cheating about 10 ° C on the display compared to the thermometer
    What could it be?
    Greetings from Germany

    • @AaronHahnStudios
      @AaronHahnStudios  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wish I had the perfect answer for you. But the only truth I know to this you wont like. Dometic is a copycat brand. Uses cheaper parts to imitate the more expensive brands. It's like anything in life, "you get what you pay for". Avoid anything made in China & Buy German Made where possible. Germans make the best stuff :-)

    Hi DO you know why cf50 gives me er2 code?

    • @AaronHahnStudios
      @AaronHahnStudios  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are many reasons these fridges give error codes. Quite possibly not your fault. It could be a number off things. Go for a top down approach, start with the power-is it getting enough? check cables. Also near the end of this video I talked about checking debris in the small plugs. Always check them one at a time so not to get them mixed up. Does it give error when using mains power or 12 volts off the car?. Try the emergency over ride setting and see if it functions then? Difficult to say from here, but thanks for watching and best of luck.

      I am SO glad you asked. I went out to the Great Australian Bight with it and am currently editing together that fantastic trip as I type this. Subscribe for that it will be worth it. The HZJ75 got shaken like a babies rattle and the Waeco works perfectly even to this date, so please feel free to tell the dometic repairer to shove their opinion in the fridge. ;-) And remember, those people want Your money & will say anything to get it. I want you to Save your money, & gain nothing by saying that. All the best and safe travels.

    Definitely worth adding a warning to this video (didn't notice it if it's there), but if you go at it with a screwdriver like that, there's a chance you'll hit lose all the refrigerant ... and then you'll need a whole new fridge. Don't ask me how I know :(
