I've got an old waeco 40ltr which I have had for over 20 years and luckily it is still working fine. It has been in trucks with me travelling all over Australia while being an interstate truckie and now I am about to start using it in my 4wd when I go out on trips or weekends.. It will not live in the back and will only be put in and taken out when needed as my Toyota Landcruiser 80 series is my daily driver also. It is very interesting to see the internals of the fridge for if and when I need to do work on mine.. hopefully not.
Hi, this is Mrs MadMatt here. MadMatt is away filming for the next couple of weeks and there is no reception/internet connection but he will get back to you when he gets back. Cheers
Hi Matt, Loved the video, very helpful, thanks for uploading. I'm just in the middle of doing my thermister replacement on my CF80 which is quite similar to yours. When replacing the new cables in the white clips, do you use the heatsink just over the sensor, before placing in the clips? Or paste over the cable & clip once in place? So, you would paste over the metal sensor at the end of the cable, and then use the clip to hold in place? Thanks Craig
@@MadMatt4WD thanks Matt , did you get my question regarding how to stick the sensor? Mine seemed to have foil underneath, so I have used the heatsink paste to glue the under side sensor to the foil and to the base of the unit. Hope it works.
hallo, I have a question: my dometic cf 26 fridge shows Err 1 when turned on. After time the temperature starts to jump once -21, -32, -25 and when it drops below -18, the compressor starts. Later it works normally, but the temperature inside is cheating about 10 ° C on the display compared to the thermometer. Greetings from Germany
@MadMatt 4WD hey mate, How did you take the base off? I've undone the small screws I can see, then the ones holding the compressor cage then there are another 3 under the cage fixing points. Cannot work out how to remove the plastic?????
Stuff it, i decided to use the grinder to take out a small section, a plaster saw to cut a nice square and when I took out the square it was empty. No thermistor there. So, I bought a new one, drilled a hole through the plastic wall and will just unplug the old and sit the new one in this spot. The cable disappears with the pipes so I've got no idea where it headed. At least once I'm done I won't see it. 🤣😂🤣👍
Hey mate. I’m not sure. This was some years ago. I found it with a google search. If you do find it would you let me know so I can add it to the description.
Hi, my unit is stuck in maximum cooling, would this be a thermistor issue too? I can solder wires together, but I am not really trained on electrical stuff so don't know how to troubleshoot the unit
Very good explanation. Greetings from creators from Indonesia. And always success
Thanks very much

That’s good going. The thermistor in this video has now failed. I suspect yours probably got a quality unit before they went cheap.

I switched thermistor as they come wired with 2 and in a short time the same problem happened. Could there be an underlying issue?
Hmmm I dont know

Hey mate. I’m not really able to help. I’m not a fridge expert in any way.

Its been a while since i did it but i seem to remember prying it off.

Paul C ha ha. Love your work

good chance it is. it's not very complex
@@MadMatt4WD Many thanks. I'll now look for a supplier of parts that ships internationally
Was your display off when the thermostat failed as my fridge now has no display and just keeps compressor on full time freezing everything.
It’s not in emergency mode?
Mine does that to...
My temp reading on my cf110 is stuck saying its at 60 degrees Celsius and runs continuously freezing everything
Where did you get the thermistor from?
IIRC I got it of Ebay
@@MadMatt4WD Do you remember what the listing was?
@@Slidinsidewayz2009 sorry mate it was some years back now and my memory isn't that good. I doubt it was hard to find. search waeco cf60 thermistor

Jees - it looks a nightmare.. :o
😂. Yeah
Surely it would be easier to araldite the new sensor onto the evaporator inside the cooler then leave the old sensor alone..
