What an excellent video !! Well done. This video is packed with hints and tips - Well done. The roof cleaning is our least favourite job to do around the caravan. In fact, we hate it. Keep up the great work, looking forward to seeing more videos from you ! Take care Dan
The Trudgians Thank you. Please give my thanks & good wishes to all the Trudgians. Thank you to you all for giving me inspiration & the confidence to join the TH-cam caravanning community.
Excellent, you have inspired me to have a deep clean of our motorhome next Friday. I have been using Fenwicks products for years and thoroughly recommend them. I particularly like your paint brush tips and the summary slide at the end. 👍🏻👍🏻
Great video, well done. I use a fence sprayer instead of a standard garden sprayer, I find it much better especially when as you would say " Rinzing".,🤗😂😁
James Ward Cheers, James. I'm just a novice TH-camr. Inspired & learning from others. I enjoy using the Bobby Dazzler. I use it on my work's van too. Does the trick. Good luck with the 'van cleaning. Nice & steady. Thanks again.
Rob & Andi Stallwood Thank you. I get quite nervous making videos. Perhaps most people do. But, I really want to learn from others & want to help others too, if I can. Thanks again. Michael
That is 1000% normal. I still do. My very early videos - you never see me. So for you to start in front of the camera, that's a huge deal. Very shortly it will seem completely normal, and you won't even think about it !! Well done
The Trudgians I made a few videos for my gardening biz last year. Lots of garden ppl doing this in the US & Canada, but less so in UK. It is picking up though. I think a lot of ppl realise it's a great way to connect. I made a New Year resolution to force myself to make more videos for my biz. Making them on this channel will help my confidence.
Great job! I also find that it takes at least four hours as well and my motivation 1. I hate having my car and caravan dirty, so when I do clean it I am very particular, I have a little saying to my self that dirt breeds dirt.
Great video...Is the fenwicks cleaning products any different to other cleaning product I have often thought about buying some but still using my Autosmart product I have Cheers Chris
Andy Yes, the roof isn't easy. I'm glad when it's done. It's such a chore that the rest of the caravan seems easy by comparison lol. Enjoy the rest of your day. Thank you for commenting.
Hi thanks for your video , the place where i store my caravan is rural and i have the same problem that you had , could you tell me where you now have it stored , there are very few decent storage places around Glasgow , so could be interested in a relocation , if its not to far out , cheers brian
brian oconnor Hi Brian. I deliberately didn't mention the name of the site. You can never be too careful on social media. Although lots of great people are out there that may benefit from such details, there are also some who use as much personal information as possible about someone in order to get up to no good. Sorry I can't help with public queries such as this. It's private, and I like to keep as much of these things as private as possible. I'm really sorry I can't help you.
Thanks i get it, but i guess by the motorway comment it part of a CC site , i did not realize they did storage there , i had a look on the website , i am in Renfrew so it would be same distance for me to travel . cheers brian
you need to use a softer brush also a car shampoo is best, roof first - wash rinse off then dry off, then polish, if you have a bonded roof you can lay across it drying off then adding polish then drying off. My roof has a shine like the sides and rain beads off. Same with sides use soft brush extending - again rinse off, dry then polish-silky is very old polish from the 80's and is abrasive and doesn't last long. Use good car wash such as Aurofiness triple action slight cut but adding a nice coat of wax. Use on windows too, tricjk is to polish your windows every time you can keeps scratches at bay and stay cleaner - use Autoglym resin polish - takes me 3.5 hours to wash / dry off and polish a 16ft van. Don't use Fenwicks car shampoo such as Meguirs is far better - you need to polish several times a year including the roof vents too such as the Heki - microfiber cloths are best wilkos good value - also do on a dry air day not hot sunny one -
bob jackson Hi Bob. Thanks for taking the time to comment. I mentioned my brush, but it didn't make the final edit. I mentioned I'd like a lovely, soft, extendable, specialist brush, but this is what I have today. The brush in the video is actually 3 years old and has been used on my transit van all this time. It's getting too old now & it's broke, but the benefit is the bristles are quite soft. Got lots of microfibre cloths, as you can see in the video. I'm not sure about your car shampoo tip, but I guess if you are convinced of that, & you've had great results, it's good to share. The Silky product has been around for a long time. I've not used it yet, but it does seem to get good reviews. I'm sure there are lots of other similar products out there. I've never tried Autoglym products, but I have heard they are excellent. So thanks again for that additional recommendation. I've seen a TH-cam channel do an amazing video review on polishing caravan windows (Caravan Dan). I'm going to follow their guide. My roof & sides shine & bead too, don't you agree? It may be helpful if you do a caravan cleaning video with your method & materials. It's hard doing videos. I find that after it's done there are always things I wish I'd said, or didn't say, or done differently. But, I take comfort in the fact that I'm just an ordinary everyday guy (not an expert) trying to help & learn from my fellow caravaner by watching their videos, gaining hints & tips, & contributing with my own videos. It's great to be part of this helpful, positive, sharing, encouraging, caravanning community. It makes me happy. Thanks again.
Dance Fever I don't use car shampoo. Sorry. The person commenting on the thread suggested car shampoo. I can't comment on their suggestion as I don't use it on our 'van. I'm really happy with the products I mention in the video. I've used them since making the video and I'll keep using them until I'm minded to try something else via a recommendation (personal or TH-cam). Sorry I can't be much help on the car shampoo query.
i've had a caravan for ten years but i have always kept it in a storage site up until now , visted a few channels on youtube and many say the car shampoo does the job so i think i'll give it a go tommorow and see what happens
Dance Fever There are so many different cleaning products out there. Go for it. I've used the Fenwicks caravan cleaning products on my car using the same method of cleaning I used in this video. Always read the label on the product and all will go well, I'm sure. Let me know how you get on.
used this for years but its gone down the nick its usless no suds andnot the sane something has changed gone back to turtle wax sad after ten years of being a good product

grand job. I did ours on Monday, took about the same amount of time, the roof is the worst job by far.
Andy Yes, the roof isn't easy. I'm glad when it's done. It's such a chore that the rest of the caravan seems easy by comparison lol. Enjoy the rest of your day. Thank you for commenting.

well done mate. does your wife say something like "i wish you would take as much care of the house as you do the caravan"? Or is that just me? 🖒
Barry Goulding lol No, it's not just you. There are always so many jobs to do. A never ending list lol
