In regard to keeping the chase cam from hitting the prop on landing, why not use a longer line, so that upon landing, the camera touches ground, instead of swinging into the prop?
Hi MArc, some good tips, thank you. The heavier cameras(so not Go Pro Sessions) definetly dont capture the whole picture. What about reducing the length of the trailing line to the chase cam to reduce risk of going into the prop? Thing is then it might go into your wings lines...hmmmm. If you lengthen the line to the chase cam it will affect your footage and your camera might take a couple knocks with take off and landing. Seems the only thing to do is to be extra careful.
See if you can lengthen your line aprox 1-1.2m /2.8-3ft longer than the lines on your wing, that way your chasecam should be dangeling between your lower cage and the ground while kiting your wing in reverse. Use superweiv on newer cams makes the screen wider.. use hypersmooth when posible. record high frame rate, so you while editing can slow down the speed, seems to uneven some of the turbulense if you get some in your fottage.. ;)
What makes you say that? If it was longer then it trails in the prop blast and get shaky. But I could see on a faster glider it may still remain in a good position. Do you find that you’re not getting everything in the frame?

Willard Ivins if the line is too long then it pulls behind in the prop blast. Otherwise, the longer line theory would work perfectly.

They do, many people use the GoPro 6, 7 and 8’s successfully.

FlyGuy716 it also depends on the camera, some are super wide angle or have a setting for that.
