Wow! Great performance. Michel Camilo ain't holding anything back for sure! A unique and wonderful pianist! Blew my mind the first time I heard him live
I remember first time I heard him was in the open square on Axeltorv in Copenhagen during the Copenhagen Jazzfestival probably 1988, Nobody really knew him, but very quickly hundreds of spectators gathered around mim playing a grand piano in the street as part of the jazzevent. He musically seduced everybody with his magic touch. He still has a large audience here.

The performance of the bass player Ned Mann is absolutely brilliant - how unfortunate that he was suffering later by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and died at the age of 49. RIP.
Another good example of a too recurrent concert filming incompetence due to musical ignorance: the cameras keep fixed on winds during Cliff Almond’s solo on “And Sammy Walked In” (>min 35)
David Sempau Well, they also continued to focus on the bassist after his solo, even though the pianist and leader was then soloing, at 14:40ish. They have to be really on their toes or musicians to pull it off right. At least the sound and general camera work is good.
It's great that Jazz on MV have blessed us with this highly enjoyable video - great playing by excellent musicians - but who are they? No credits for who's playing what from Jazz on MV - but how come? It's been left to one of the commentators - thanks Bilzebor - to do what Jazz on MV SHOULD have done and give this info (see below)... I am forced to conclude that so far as Jazz on MV are concerned it's against their religion to credit the musicians no matter how outstanding they may be...
I've never seen anyone using the four pistons of a piccolo trumpet (min 2:12). Not sure why but they always use the first three pistons as with the regular trumpet or flugelhorn.
Miguel Iglesias It is because the fourth piston is used for the lowest register that is ussually not used on the piccollo trumpet because it doesnt sound that good... This type of trumpet is usually used for playing high anyways :)
What's with these people walking up an down in front of the stage? They may think they are in the mall browsing for some crap they don't need. Amazing musicians.
I've said this about Brecker, I'll say it about Ralph, the uglier the shirt on the jazz cat, the better the solo😄 Crazy how long Ralph Bowen has been so good.
+Yisroel Fishbain if i take wild guess, then i would say that it could possibly be Michel Camilo, but i'm not entirely sure. But seriously, it is Michel Camilo

if you paid (in 1991) for top of the line Baldwin, you did get a Meisterwerk of piano technology. After the company went bankrupt, and Gibson bought the factory and moved it to China the quality went predictably way way down. (shades of Helmut Kohl's and cronies quite corrupt pennies on the dollar sellout/selloff of East German manufacturing, some of which was viable).
Michel Camilo - piano
Michael Philip Mossman - trumpet
Ralph Bowen - saxophone
Ned Mann - acoustic bass
Cliff Almond - drums
very thanks!!
Thanks!!!!
Not yet!!
Ty 🙏
Fantastic!!!!! Impressive & inspiring musicians.Excellent drummer.
I love latin jazz, and funky jazz, in other words, I love this band. Incredible how they groove, awesome arrangements, super contemporary jazz solos.

In that moment he was 22 years old. He born in 1969. However, he was a child but a beast in the drums. 🤘🏻😎
Ass kicking ensemble...I love it. Ralph Bowen is smokin as usual. Sammy's on fire.

David Sempau And especially bad in that section as you can tell the trombonist is having trouble remembering the line!
David Sempau Well, they also continued to focus on the bassist after his solo, even though the pianist and leader was then soloing, at 14:40ish. They have to be really on their toes or musicians to pull it off right. At least the sound and general camera work is good.
Your beef is with the editing, not the filming.
Theyve shown the drummer first Time after half hour.
Excelente sonido de Jack

Miguel Iglesias I think it is a piccolo trumpet (like in baroque music) very high notes but you need a 4th piston for the lower ones
absolutely love everything but there was absolutely no need for the piccolo trumpet, especially a selma, just trying to show off!!! (very jealous )
Been looking to find what drummer this is for years,,, ThANKS

All these garbage around those talented musicians are just disturbing the ocean..People without music spirit..Great concert..
