Hi, thanks for your video. I am little confused here if you can help me with. I installed 9.2kw Tesla solar panel. Neither PPL PA or Tesla told me anything about SREC. My system turned on two months ago and it produces more than what I need. As I know PPL will pay me back the difference if there will be. Is SREC and extra for what PPL will pay me back? If yes, how can do that? I heard it need a certificate or something like that. Please can you help me out

Great video. Thank you. Could you speak more about the SREC market please. specifically can you produce SREC's anywhere and sell them to anyone i.e. can I produce SREC in TX and sell them to Sweden? Thanks

Thank you for the question! While we are not experts in international SREC trading, it is our understanding that anyone can buy SRECs produced anywhere in the world. That being said, regulatory policy in a given country or state may impose restrictions on where SRECs can be purchased and of which type (e.g., Green-E) they need to be to satisfy regulatory requirements.

I’ve heard it’s not energy produced, but energy put on the grid. Which is true? Because they’re different numbers considering you will be consuming some amount of kWh per year that never goes on the grid

Onsite solar that is behind a customer’s meter (BTM solar), is sized for a property’s own consumption and benefit. All the energy produced from your array will spill onto your service panel to power your loads. Only when there is excess energy does it flow back into the grid. Through policies known as Net-Metering, you can get credits for this excess generation and draw from your “solar bank” during the night when you solar system is not generating energy or in the winter when your system produces less than it does in the summer. In markets with favorable net metering policies, this allows you to size a solar array to your annual kWh consumption.
