    Hey guys if I waited one more day my late wire order would have surprised me an actually shown up. After this was edited I swapped the 0 gauge from the fuse block to the alternator. I replaced it with 8 gauge wire, same for the ground to the cab from the fuse block thats 8 gauge too. Worked fine but was not the permenant plan. Use what ya got 😁

    Great video! I’ve been there with the floor rust as well. I have the LRB door panels too. I like them. I may paint mine as well. If you paint them check out the bumper buttons I used. I bought red buttons but you can buy them in black. They are countersunk so they self center and provide a larger washer type head for the bolts in the door. keep the vids coming!

      Thank you. 😁 Yes I saw yours too, I like how you did your door panel window felts and those little red buttons came out very clean. Best part is these panels are very affordable. 👍

      Always bro! This thing has no AC, the perfect time to drive it is the winter time. Got to get some seats and exhaust and I can have some fun with this one. Happy holidays!

    hello 23.22 you mentioned 2 wires red going to starter wire, and black going to starte can you clarify where black goes

      If you have the part from this video the red and black go in-between the starter and the and the purple starter wire if you have an s10. Think of it like this, when the key goes to start from your steering column this allows or denies the power to reach the starter. Even simpler, cut the purple wire put the black on one end and the red on the other 👍

    So, how did you get the transmission to shift without having a way of knowing what PRNDL position the shifter is in? Wont it be stuck in 2nd gear without knowing what gear its in electronically?

      As long as you start in park, when installing a new switch like I did on the side of the 4l60 the switch is in park too. Then each gear is picked up by the switch as you pull back the shifter. 👍

      @@thisoldhooptie That cant be the case because the other connector you didnt add is the range switch section. I know because right now Im doing a 4l80e swap and Found out this transmission wont do anything cept reverse and 2nd gear default without the range feed connector wired up.

      @@thisoldhooptie if you dont have the range switch, At the very least you have to wire a on/off switch on the dash to turn on for D4 when you shift into Drive on the column. To be fair I could be running into some confusion because Im using a 2000 3500 van computer and cant for the life of me figure out where to supply a tach signal to from the HEI old school distributor (one of the wires for the cam or crank sensor, no idea because no information out there). Im finding the sloppy or flat out wrong information put out there by people to be pointless. I dont understand why some put out fake or incomplete information.

      I'm not a mechanic, I can only give you my experience with this truck as it was my first ls swap. When I had the original wire harness, which did have all the transmission plugs, every thing worked fine when I drove it around the block after fixing wire issues. Then I swapped to a cheap Amazon ls swap harness, which only had the one plug for the switch, and that drove fine, swapping the gears as I test drove it. I would have noticed if it was stuck in 2nd gear. I have since pulled it apart to fix the body issues. The engine and trans are out right now. What I can do is go over it when I put it all back together later this year. I followed info from this site to deal with wire issues when I was stuck. Definitely easist yo use the common swap parts and wires if possible. 👍 www.lt1swap.com/

      My guess is the large round connector on the 4l60 passenger side has what it needs to allow computer control.

    I have a question, if you'd be able to help. I have a 91 Chevy OBS and the break lights aren't turning on I do a swap Would you happen to know why the white wire wouldn't work?

    • @thisoldhooptie
      @thisoldhooptie  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First and easiest thing to check would be the bulbs and grounds in the back. Follow the harness from the tail lights to the frame see if the grounds are connected to the frame. If they are I would get a power probe or cheap test light and check the wire from front to back see where the power stops. With a probe have some one hit the brakes see if the wire gets power from the brake switch for tss at the column all the way to the light. You will find a bad connection or broken wire easy this way. Let me know how it goes.
