    This is EXACTLY how I treat my podcast and my IG presence. I never want to underestimate how much people getting to know me has helped them to feel comfortable buying from me. Great video!

    Something I’ve heard that really works is advertising your videos and podcast episodes on various social media before, during, and after it posts to remind people to view it or listen

    Gillian this was SOOO helpful! 🙏🏾 I was LITERALLY just trying to figure out if I should continue the 5-minute “Life’s Questions & Lessons” podcast and create 5-minute guided journaling, guided meditation and mindful movement videos on TH-cam.
    Is there anything in the StartUp Society membership that goes over how to create a content system, like the one you mentioned? Or something that can help me determine what roles the podcast, TH-cam and LinkedIn (the other platform I use for thought leadership) all play together? 🤔

    I think audience demographics and psychographics also matters. I’m B2B with management consultants as my target and podcasts are more often consumed by that demographic.

    As I am planning to make my TH-cam videos voice only with copyright free video clips, it could easily double up as a podcast too.

    Hey Gillian I have noticed something on your thumbnails and content that cause you lot of views. In case of thumbnails there is lot of black and white colours I mean dry colours but not bright colurs. Your content quality is so good but phase is slow in a way. So changing these will help you to get more clicks and better retention.

    For me is safer no to have all my food in basket. With the podcast I could add more activities and increase my income from it. It seems I could have more control of the activities of the podcast, and replace other sources of income. I feel I wouldn't much control of TH-cam , or some other platforms activities.

      @@gillianzperkins I do thank you for taking the time to read my comment. You have no idea how much you have been helping me. Your videos are full of good data. some times takes a little longer to understand, but with a video I am able to play it as many times as I want. I have a lot to learn, and the best thing is that You are there with many videos, and many more to come. I don't have to create the road: because You did it and showing it to me .Thank you.

    80/20 rule basically? what is the 20% of work that results in 80% of results - and what is the 80% of work that results in 20% of results.

    Everyone who sells their course says you will get support be guided I’ve paid for 2 already and they have not been supportive and I’m still stuck and it took me a long time to save for these courses. I’m not trying to say your course does not deliver but it’s just so frustrating

    Constructive criticism - The most effective TH-camrs give the viewer useful information for free and as a result that viewer then chooses to become a customer to get more value. I don’t feel you’ve quite got that balance right. Every time I watch one of your videos I feel like I’m immediately in a sales funnel. You never give enough information on a particular topic for a viewer to use to benefit themselves immediately, unless they go on to purchase whatever course you are selling. The information you give always falls just short of having useable value on its own, presumably in the hope that the viewer will then pay for your course. That is not the best way to promote trust. That makes me feel that if I purchased one of your courses it would just lead me to be in yet another sales funnel which would mean I would have to purchase yet another one of your courses to obtain any useable value. Just something to think about.

      You hit the nail on the head. I didn't want to say anything for a long time but glad you did. I am starting a podcast and just putting the same audio on TH-cam. For me, I am not interested in monetizing but if the opportunity is there, why not?

      Strange, I don't get that vibe from her videos at all. I always learn something. She is very good at teaching the what and why, the HOW is nearly always a paid option among course/membership creators.

    • @ecombridges
      @ecombridges 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly, that's why I think channels such as H-EDUCATE have much more potential as they teach the HOW too. But it takes much more time to do that so I understand it doesn't fit the "work less earn more" mindset. I really like Gillian channel though, very inspiring.

    I recommend you ANSWER the question regarding which one is making more money FIRST! And then go on to explain why. People are busy looking for answers not explanations. For example: If I ask you to marry me, I want to know if you want to do it or not. If you say yes... I don't need an explanation and if you say no, I really, really don't care a bit for an explanation!!! Got it?

    Time consuming ? Up to 20 hours PER MONTH producing vidéos and 10 hours producing PODCASTS ? This means you're doing this part time right ? Because 30 hours represent less than a short week .. of normal work.
