Excellent, thanks for your honesty and sharing with us all. I am pushing my wife to start her podcast and move forward with it as a project so some if not all of your tips and recommendations help considerably. Once again thanks
Loved this episode! Thanks for the transparency! If happy to share, how many downloads is the show seeing these days? (Episode average). Helps put the financials in context.
I am a retired entrepreneur with 45 years of business success. You are quite the young man. Keep up the world class energy, enjoy every moment, and keep sharing the love.
I am 22, and starting up a business in Africa. I found this podcast on apple podcasts a few weeks ago. I instantly became hooked, listening everyday, everywhere, sometimes repeating an episode over and over. I started from the very first episode and I just now got to this current one. You are all i have been talking about lately but very few of my friends and family found your content as addictive and useful. Ive seen your podcast as a life manual honestly. But not for all. I feel like i know you and we are alike in so many ways, which i believe most of your audience feel. You have opened my eyes in ways i could not even explain. Thank you Steve. What a journey it has been for me! God bless you
Consistency is absolute key, being reliable, someone you can trust will turn up, exhausting but so true, before I found you I had another favorite content maker for years, who equally created life-changing impactful content but started posting more and more sporadically last year , and even though each episode was just as good as it always was, it felt like it was fizzling out and now when you talked about it I realised 'oh what happened' I had forgotten to see if there was new episodes for many months, there was indeed but I found I had stopped looking for it as there 'probably wouldnt be a new upload' You create a great beam of light in my life every week, thank you for all the hard work, it is fantastic!
Steven, watching you speak so eloquently on this podcast has made me more articulate. I have even adopted your rhythm and conciseness for my presentations at uni. Thank you for sharing these gems.
I have never missed a single podcast. I am a better person because of Steven's lifes work. Not to put you on a pedestal because I know you are human and fallible but I am in constant awe of your intellect, suave, authenticity and ironically, your simplicity. You have no idea how much of an impact you are to those of us that draw from your "diary of wisdom"

beautiful review. can sense the authenticity from reading this. I have his book and am always using snippets from it to help educate my daughters about some of the lessons learned.
I started out this podcast 6 months ago and so far, this is one of the most challenging tasks I've ever done. It's growing weekly as we release every Mondays 08:00PM EAT, but the amount of work put in and sustaining it's consistency is super crazy! I'm definitely looking into building a team now!😊
You're right! My son didn't keep it to himself. He's 28 I am a rather mature mom and an avid listener. I find most of your podcasts amazing. I love, love them.❤❤
Steve, this is the best podcast that you have ever done. Thank you for your timely, accurate and highly credible commentary. Deeply appreciated Theodore in Southern California.
I'm 16 and absolutely adore your podcasts and the valuable content you deliver. It was so interesting and inspiring to listen to your successful journey, full of consistency and persistence (+ the networking!). Thanks so much, Steven!
I would like to know how much of the success of your podcast is down to who you are already ? You are not exactly an unknown person. You are a successful businessman who has had a lot of attention brought in from your appearances on DD, so people who watch that will probably be attracted to viewing your podcasts.
I love this podcast. I find the guests fascinating and the host inspiring. I'm especially moved by the honesty of that wonderful two sentence introduction that comes spontaneously out of you during your first shot at doing a podcast. I picture you, in the middle of the night with the blanket over your head asking people not to listen and share it with others. It resonated deeply with me. Thank you!
As a specialist in mental health I would like to start a podcast interviewing people who have recovered and turned their life round. What do you think of this idea to help people who are suffering from mental health.
I am a late 20s female in the UK with NO money ie deep in unarranged overdraft, chronically ill, unemployed, living alone, no social support, no family,no friends, no savings, no help, on Universal Credit yet still in this situation, unable to pay bills, suffering extremely,in multiple debts, suicidal, have no financial literacy nor backup plan. I am not coping. What do I do?

Thanks for the love man. I really appreciate this presentation and an opportunity to get a look at the inner workings of your world and mission. I'm a senior, who chooses not to become obsolete. Good ideas are timeless, but most important , they also belong to the people. Well done !! 😎👍
You have an intuitive interfacing dynamic with your interviewees that is just phenomenal. You are the bar for me at this moment. I'm so grateful I found you 💛
I stumbled across this video on accident as I am trying to learn how to create a podcast and blog regarding my passion - helping people overcome major life setbacks and building resiliency in a post-COVID world. I had never heard of your podcast or your channel - probably because I typically live under a rock. I admit, I expected this video to be click bait as I never really expected to make much money from either my blog or my podcast. But I clicked this video anyway in an afterthought out of curiosity and I am really, really glad I did. The stance that you take regarding authenticity and being intentional with your integrity is refreshing and precisely what I want for my blog/podcast. I've never been so inspired by a video I initially expected to be like all the other "get rich quick" videos. I doubt you will see this, considering this video is a year old. But if you do, know that you inspired one more person and gained one more to your list of subscribers. Not because of the title of your video, but because of the passion you have for what you do. Thank you for sharing!
This podcast is simply awesome... Stephen is a massive inspiration to me and you can tell he is a genuine person. The guests open up to him which just shows how much they trust him with there life stories. Thanks Stephen for this podcast, you deserve all the success you are getting, truly inspirational 👊
One of the major topics touched on in this episode is QUALITY! Some of the best corporations in the world with earnings over 20% or more consistently for a decade or longer have solid standards - and they stand by those standards without compromise. THIS type of razor sharp focus IS the future, and I’m always so amazed at how often organizations with such potential overlook this. As a graduate student of Human Resource Development, we are learning how genuine authenticity is what will make organizations successful, not necessarily focusing on HR Management. This is because, as this podcast mentions, people desire meaningful outputs for the work they’re doing. They want their work to matter and mean something beneficial for others. This entire podcast is spot on! This is an excellent example of creating value and meaning in the world. Thank you for highlighting such valuable information!
As a podcaster myself I agree that quality, consistency and passion must be present in order to succeed. The aim of a podcast to me is to give value to the audience, and when we fail that, no 4k shooting or famous guest will cut it, so, well done for deleting episodes that didn’t give that value. With respect, may I add that there is a difference between knocking on the door of a possible sponsor company as Mr Nobody, and being a Dragon’s Den business man who has high visibility and credibility. I shall keep watching your podcast!
I've been here since your first episode, really glad to see you post regularly and pull up this kind of numbers. It is clear that your previous experience in the business world was key for you to be able to convince all these brands, congrats man you deserve it.
Really loved watching this and learning from you too. I am a UK TH-camr but in the last year "for fun" started a podcast too and completely agree that actually the depth of value from a podcast is the one thing that most people will stop and talk to me/comment about. I love that I can use different media for different topics, but really understood that also that even the media types themselves give a unique experience to the viewer/listener. Thank you for sharing this and here's to even more success ahead!
I have been listening to the DOAC via Spotify for a month and I'm up to this episode. Great role model for all ages. I feel your wisdom spans a broad range of ages groups and refreshingly, you don't come across like most people I used to see in the corporate world i.e. suited and booted, talks in business jargon etc. Its makes you far more relatable for the everyday person who may not be self employed. I fully believe you have and will continue to inspire hundreds of thousands of people into starting a business or even to purse what it is that interests them in life in terms of a job/career path. Congrats.
This is SO valuable. Basically the most valuable thing you can do as a human being is to struggle to understand the truth of the world and use your struggle to help others.
Steven - I came across your podcast about 2 months ago and I have quite literally watched all of your episodes. The amount of value it has brought to my life has been amazing, I love how natural the conversation is between you and your guest, the depth of content, the vulnerability, transparency and relatability! Thank you for your dedication in producing this content for us - I look forward to Monday :-)
You are operating from a place of truth, sincerity and integrity and all of us should be so thankful. Because today, this is a rarity. I support this movement. Thank you for being a noble leader of it. Subscribed.
I came in for Dr Tara Swart . It gave me some magic and it seems some doors have opened to me !! And Steven I am your fan from Dragons Den and your podcast is doing some great magic and helping me to come out of depression!! . Thank you.
Your commitment to quality is what really resonates with me. You are happy to pull an episode, if you feel it’s just not right. This, together with consistency of production is what I find interesting. You know it will result in more effort and you have set yourself deadlines. This is something I struggle with as my deadlines are too tight, I try to keep my content about what has happened each week and my other socials then match up. Maybe more future planning. Thanks for taking the time to open up these questions for ourselves. Great podcast and I now listen every week on the road.
Hello Mr Bartlett, You mentioned people giving up 2 hours of time to listen to people they may not of heard of. I had heard of Russell Brand but never really liked him, but I was curious when I saw he was on your podcast. Because of you, really, I watched the conversation, and that changed my mind about him. He went through such a journey to get to the Russel Brand he is today, and he sure knows how to put amazing sentences together.
Thank you! The joy of TH-cam is even when I'm slow at getting to your older content, it still resonates. What a great episode for those of us just starting out.
Thank you Steve! This is priceless advice. 🙏❤ Getting into podcasting was something I used to think about occasionally as a 'what if' possibility...now listening to this, it actually feels more plausible. The place where you are coming from-producing high quality content that you like and that gives the best value to the listeners-is very inspiring!!
Steven, there's a reason why this episode popped up on my TH-cam feed today! Just launched the first two episodes of my second podcast. Thank You for sharing this strategy! Loved it!
Just watched this video and wanted to thank Steven for putting this out here. I am a nobody and just created my own podcast. This is such valuable information. Finances aside, every other reason to podcast is every reason for me to continue doing it. Thanks for the points.
I appreciate your approach to teaching.. To my understanding this just proves how much we need an edge as investors because playing the market like everyone else just isn’t good enough, we just need to hold onto our hopes and wait to see how things turn out because market movements are almost always unpredictable. In my portfolio, I'm noticing more red than green.
People believe their currency has the worth it does because they have no other option. Even in a hyper-inflationary environment, individuals must continue to use their hyperinflationary currency since they likely have minimal access to other currencies or gold/silver coins.
You are right! I diversified my $400K portfolio across various market with the aid of an investment coach, I have been able to generate a little bit above 1.3m in net profit across high dividend yield stocks, ETF and bonds during this red season.
@@carmindaAntunes How can I reach out to this coach? because I'm seeking for a more effective investment approach How good is this person at portfolio diversification, particularly with regard to digital assets?
Depth, breath and learning opportunities are really important to me in terms of my engaging with every source of content I consume. The Quality here at Diary of a CEO, is certaintly 'quantity' for me. Thank you for what you (and your team) produce/deliver consistently with resilience. 👍
I subscribed to your channel because you focus so exclusively on the guests and really listen to them. Of course, enjoying your commentary along the way. So many interviewers nowadays interrupt or try to redirect the conversation to themselves when the focus is on the interviewee and their knowledge! Your team has really found a way to capture an audience with the guests. It is really unique that you also are the interviewer and interviewee of yourself on other occasions. I also enjoy the structure of your podcasts and the fact that it is broken down with labels so I can jump around need be.
First thing I’ve done after watching this episode, I went on Spotify and listened the first episode. I’m starting now as a sole estate agent and I completely understand all your struggles and challenges. I took onboard things like delivering quality, consistency and perseverance ❤️
Thank you for sharing all those nuggets Steven and team. Me being here proves podcasting/you tubing content lives forever - I was searching for info on reviving my podcast in 2023 and of course I am going to watch Steven Barrett's episode advice since Diary of the CEO is my daily walking buddy. Wishing you and your team every success. I'm inspired!
WOW this is AMAZING Steven thank you for sharing! I had no idea you even had sponsors, THAT's how authentic your spiel on these brands has always been. Thank you for breaking this down as I am very eager to start my podcast. LOVE THIS
The one thing that is missing here is that you are a pretty well known entrepreneur and rich. The ceo of Huel would absolutely not have backed a nobody (somebody not very well known if at all) as he did here. That’s the missing thing. The only way to prove otherwise would be to prove it by creating a new podcast with an undercover name and then when if it comes to money being agreed, reveal your true name and details and tell them why you did it, to prove it’s possible for everybody.
The point about the impact resonated with me. A few years ago I had an urge to write a book. But I'm not a writer, so I just wrote a couple of short stories and published them online. And people read them and even liked them. But I knew nothing about those people, and had no way to get into conversation with them. That helped me realise that I didn't really want to write books, but I wanted to discuss certain topics with others, with people whom I don't know personally, but who might be interested in the same ideas. It's great that Steven managed to find the right tools to connect to the audience. We all benefit from it.
You can share the practical tips, Stephen, and people can apply them, but ultimately this podcast is outstanding and so successful because of you. Greatest interviewer of your generation. ✨🙏🏆 Thanks for the work you do, and all that you’ve given to people through your podcast.
Thank you so much for this episode. As an up and coming podcaster myself , I was tearing up listening/ watching. Just knowing that my partner and I, are on the right path and you provided hope to what is possible. As long as we are consistent. Thank you. Cheers to success, impact and longevity.
This has to be my favourite video of yours! No offence to the amazing guests you have but the value and inspiration in this once beat everything. The transparency authenticity and honesty in this one really hit.
I love your podcast and appreciate the standards you set so greatly! It’s true, I look forward to your new releases, knowing that you made the effort to bring us a fascinating interview every time. Thank you for introducing us to all the great minds! It is SO rich. ♥️🙏
I do think that in the beginning it can make a lot of sense to have seasons in the case of an interview-based podcast to build social proof to then have an easier way to pitch the podcast going forward (and making it bi-weekly or weekly through that).
Thank you Steven, I really really enjoy listening to you, and genuinely find you fascinating, and inspiring.... As an older man with ADHD and Dyslexia who has struggled with many aspects of life, especially since leaving the comfort blanket of the Army many years ago, you have helped me to gain some focus, and to become a Hueligan ... Thank you again...
If you are famous you can go straight to the CEOs and maybe get lucky. The fact that he did it in a humble way is the cherry on top, but I don't think that would work for 99% of people, regardless of how good their presentation is. That being said, I like how he is honest about view count and doesn't try pretend that it is a mainstream podcast, but rather a very good niche product.
I 100% agree that podcast guests can become friends after such a special conversation. Being able to contact someone I find interesting and ask to have a conversation has been amazing. Podcasting has been the one of best thing I have done in the last 3-4 years. Some life long friends. Very, very blessed. Thanks for all you are doing and what you are bringing to the world. I'm not doing the income you are but it is a great idea to pull in authentic products to share. All the best. If you ever wish to be a podcast guest, I would be honored.
The way you cut through the noise of TH-cam Steve and have the intuition to ask guests the questions most of us want answering but many wouldn’t dare to ask, the production quality, witty humour, even the set is top tier. My current favourite go to channel that will take some beating.. thank you….again 🍾
Wow, Steve! This video/podcast may have been the most impactful one in my life as I ponder the idea of starting a new video/podcast channel. Your presentation and the way you communicate is enlightening! All of the points provides a great strategy one can implement right away. I loved Point # 1 (consistency) and point # 5 ( why start/keep going) because without those I'll never reach the ultimate goal. Thank you again for sharing your insights and love for content makers. You have already made the world a better place brotha!
i just cant become obsessed with money. one day everyone dies and loses it all. if i have enough to live on and enough spare to treat myself sometimes i'm good. glad for you though
I almost skipped this video but I am so glad I went back and listened to it, and subscribed immediately. Thank you for this. It has given me the extra push I needed in my podcast journey that's about to begin.
I love your honesty. To be frank, your podcast is my number 1 go-to when I want to listen to deep genuine conversations. Thank you for sharing this because I don't believe in conforming. If it's not working for others doesn't mean it won't for me
The quality of this podcast is right out of the top drawer. Thank you, it’s given me so many ideas amongst other inspirational elements. Your message is delivered with so much clarity.
Appreciate your Authenticity. I have basically doing Tiktok and this inspired me to to push forward to going on making video with equipment purchased but I have yet to unload the passion contained within. Commitment made
Wow, I loved this weeks episode. You are so sharp in your delivery. Can you make a video about how you prepare for your podcasts, such as this one? Do you write a script? Do you read one? Do you practice and if so what do you do to practice? How did you get so good at the delivery and what did you intentionally do to get better? That would be amazing :)
Started watching your videos today by accident. I've been thinking about starting a podcast for a while now and just wanted to thank you for giving me that extra shot of motivation to do it.
Thankyou for sharing you experience with social media and pod casting. I've rescently came across you .I find your questions you ask are completely free spirited. Your bold and direct. And it's true about learning things in that 2hr window .Once again thankyou .
Hindsight is 20/20 you are number one and so you can shut down the naysayers. What if it didn't happen that way. Your also attractive and have a golden voice so that goes in your favor too. So there is more to this and you are a CEO so you have instant connections and power.
This is all great, but the final section is superb. Something I also preach and something I have to tell myself if and when a video hits 'relatively' low numbers on my channel. Reach is empty. Depth is everything.
I could never do something that I don’t enjoy either. I also don’t listen to anything I don’t’ enjoy. I like the depth of your podcast. Sometimes I think I am going to enjoy and it is hard. The people are emotional. I sometimes need to stop and come back. I also like to learn things. I’m in my mid 50s, I don’t really care about doing anything more then cover my costs and do something interesting. It has already made an impact in my approach to being more creative at work, because I just don’t’ care what people think of me anymore.
Thanks Steven for making this video and laying out your experience building a successful podcast. I've been contemplating doing my own podcast, and this was the advice, direction, and nudge I needed to START. Keep up the phenomenal work!

Same here. It inspired me on my TH-cam journey over 7 months ago.
Consistency, consistency, consistency. Committing to weekly episodes of quality content this for my podcast! No more random hiatuses. Thank you!
Something Steve and others forgot to mention is that consistency over time leads to *compounding* and that's where the secret sauce is.

Lool me too. So true
We need an updated version of this video ! A lot of things have changed since
Goal is to watch as many videos as possible - video number #1
lesson - Love , Genuine, Reason , connecting.
And Steven I am your fan from Dragons Den and your podcast is doing some great magic and helping me to come out of depression!! . Thank you.
Schedule and sticking to it, is indeed very important.
Hello Mr Bartlett,
You mentioned people giving up 2 hours of time to listen to people they may not of heard of.
I believe you can do it :)
Thank you for your advice, we will be on your podcast in the future to discuss how your advice helped us make millions.
I look forward to it!
All the best boys, just gained a new subscriber. I like your podcast
@@tylerjoseph820 thank you so much for your support, we hope you enjoy future content 💪
@@carmindaAntunes Please I'm very much interested. How can I get touch with this coach, i really want to give her a try.
*PATRICIA DRITA JOSEFINA* is the coach that guides me, She has years of financial market experience and she is also FINRA & SEC verifiable
30 minutes of my day well spent! Thanks, Stevovo!
I always wondered where the inspiration for the introduction came from. Thanks for shedding more light on this
First thing I’ve done after watching this episode, I went on Spotify and listened the first episode.
Thank you for this! I LOVE how genuine you are. This came in handy because I started a podcast and have been thinking about doing it on TH-cam!
Thanks for the work you do, and all that you’ve given to people through your podcast.
Already impressed- and this video is 2 years old.!! Actually been watching and listening because you get what I am interested in.
This is absolutely splashing the value given for free. Well done Steve
A very inspiring, intelligent young man! Thank you for your advice. Of recent I can really say that I’ve needed it.
I do think that in the beginning it can make a lot of sense to have seasons in the case of an interview-based podcast to build social proof to then have an easier way to pitch the podcast going forward (and making it bi-weekly or weekly through that).
We needed a high quality British Podcast. Got tired of Joe Rogan recycling his 'comedian' and MMA friends
You did it Steven - Thank you
❤
Thank you Steven, I really really enjoy listening to you, and genuinely find you fascinating, and inspiring.... As an older man with ADHD and Dyslexia who has struggled with many aspects of life, especially since leaving the comfort blanket of the Army many years ago, you have helped me to gain some focus, and to become a Hueligan ... Thank you again...
I really appreciate when people are so open about their numbers & experience, I think it is really good for society, thank you very much sir
Many people talk about being truly authentic which is a standard that is hard to live up to. You really live up to it. This was very inspiring.
The way you cut through the noise of TH-cam Steve and have the intuition to ask guests the questions most of us want answering but many wouldn’t dare to ask, the production quality, witty humour, even the set is top tier. My current favourite go to channel that will take some beating.. thank you….again 🍾
Thank you for the depth, the vulnerability, and sharing this knowledge. We can't wait to see what is to come
If it's not working for others doesn't mean it won't for me
This is encouraging. I plan to stay the course & consistently show up for my podcast show The Coin: Black History on the Other Side.
So he reached out to brands directly with authenticity and it works! Great lesson to learn here
The quality of this podcast is right out of the top drawer. Thank you, it’s given me so many ideas amongst other inspirational elements. Your message is delivered with so much clarity.
Steve, you're doing England proud!
Every piece of content Steve puts out is insanely valuable but comes across so casually
Really crazy to watch 🔥
Learning a lot from you. I am encouraged to start a podcast channel in my local language. Thank you.
Appreciate your Authenticity. I have basically doing Tiktok and this inspired me to to push forward to going on making video with equipment purchased but I have yet to unload the passion contained within. Commitment made
Just found your podcasts and im addicted. Thank you so much for all your knowledge and work. Bless 🔥🔥
Mostly I didn't consider much of this but it's been an eye opener. Consistently produce content. That will stick with me for life. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom and honesty Steve. Using your tips, I will share my podcast with you once it is up and running.
Wow!!! Glad to have bumped to you this week. What you are doing is massively important in this day and age. Glad you came my way.
Cheers
Thankyou for sharing you experience with social media and pod casting. I've rescently came across you .I find your questions you ask are completely free spirited. Your bold and direct. And it's true about learning things in that 2hr window .Once again thankyou .
Hindsight is 20/20 you are number one and so you can shut down the naysayers. What if it didn't happen that way. Your also attractive and have a golden voice so that goes in your favor too. So there is more to this and you are a CEO so you have instant connections and power.
This was very insightful, extremely useful while being simplistic and informative. Thanks Stephen! You have no idea how much I needed to hear this 🙏🏼
So much inspiration and support !! ❤❤❤ Thank You!! 🤘🤘🤘
This is all great, but the final section is superb. Something I also preach and something I have to tell myself if and when a video hits 'relatively' low numbers on my channel. Reach is empty. Depth is everything.
Best podcast ever. So good that it pushes me to produce one at the same level of vulnerability, honesty & quality.
Thank you!
