Love the Gurkhas. Used to spend a lot of time with them at Stafford base when my ex worked there as a civi. The wife of one of the most senior Gurkha officers made me a traditional Nepalese dress to wear to their New Years Eve party on the base. They really are beautiful people.
UK no other counties showed thier love your great beautiful country does when we needs help wheres the others counties but your theres and when your country needs help the USA will be there for the great UK and I will too but not just a great country but family!!.

Often made fun of and regarded as a Cinderella is the RAF. Well,when those people match my fathers bravery at the age of 21 flying gliders filled with troops and equipment behind enemy lines and had to make his way back through safe houses,or sadly not so safe houses trying to get through the Netherlands where the pilots were often betrayed,armed with a pistol.
These elaborate defence apparatus are being maintained by various nations at a GREAT cost to the respective tax payers for security reasons.I think defence forces of different countries are mostly modelled on British pattern because Britain was the FIRST country in the world to form & maintain a well trained defence apparatus for imperial designs!
True-is there any need for maintaining this sort of large defence forces if there is peace & tranquility in our world &instead use that money for development & other welfare measures for the common people.
Yes there is, if you think there's peace and tranquility in this world mate you must be on a different planet. And if you're happy for all of us who DO serve our country in the armed forces to lose their jobs then I guess this conversation is over.

Russia has decided to flex it's muscle on Ukraine, Iran is helping it, I don't doubt for one minute the land of cheap plastic crap will get involved.....and you thought we don't really need a strong military presence?
