- Every year a Remembrance Ceremony is held across the globe where there is a British Establishments. Gurkhas are integral part of the British Armed Forces and have grate value. In its history, Gurkhas were given a grate chance to perform here at the Royal Albert Hall in London. This episode definitely makes the Gurkhas around the globe feel proud.

Having a father who was a Gurkha, and a grandfather that was also a Gurkha (who won a V.C. in WWII), he must have felt he had so much to live up to, but he did it.
Considering the success rate of applicants for selection into the Gurkhas is about 4% that is one hell of a family lineage.

Britain owe Nepali Gurkhas £85 Billion Pounds towards unpaid salaries and pensions.

They should win their case. Back in the days they were paid less than the army soldiers so this is only fair (I should add that the other soldiers were not paid that well either in those days).. They have always been respected by the other regiments for their utter devotion/dedication, bravery and kindness at the same time. Its now the beginning of2024 so hope all has been sorted.
Bravery and the Gurkers go hand in hand and I'm so proud of them all. 💖💖💖💖💖👍

IMHO it would be wonderful if Prince William's son grew up and served with the Gurkhas. The RN had Princes Charles and Andrew, the RAF have Prince William, and the Blues (had) Prince Harry - I think it's about time the Gurkhas were honoured by the British Royal Family for their long service and loyalty to a fellow independent nation.
To be an officer in the Gurkha you have to be a beast. The best of the best.

May all the young men who want to become Gurkhas one day have the same quality of life, the same pay and the same opportunities in their country of Nepal, instead of having to serve a foreign colonial power.
The UK is foreign to Nepalis, but it is not a Colonial power and they do not have to serve. They volunteer, most who apply are not recruited.

@@archiebald4717 Exactly. Sometimes history is subtle and complicated. The relationship between Nepal and the UK isn't the same as, for example, the UK and Kenya.

Less than what? They receive exactly the same salary and pension as every other soldier of the same rank in the British army.
