Good deal man! I got my biggest brown trout of my life at "home base" in november! Big dark male hook jaw! 32" inch and weighed 15lbs. Might be getting a reproduction mount of it soon. Fish on!!
Yea I have had some great brown trout days there! Still looking to break my pb 10lbs! To mount a Brown of a lifetime never sounds like a bad idea!! Thanks for Watching be sure to Like and Subscribe! Happy Fishing!
I was told you cant be walking on the archers run side after the middle of november or having a fire.? Unless you get special permission from the hunting club.? They close that parking lot the 12th of november i think?. Good luck out there man!! Be safe!
Yes parking is closed. As for Fires all I can say is members were present and pleased someone did the work on that freezing day. Thank you for concern I recommend everyone follow the rules and fire safety! Thanks for Watching be sure to Like & Sub! Happy Fishing!
Nice size steelies. Used to catch lots of monsters 10 to 16 lbs there and all over ontario tribs. Fish are getting smaller and much fewer every year nowadays. Not exactly sure why. It's a shame. Good luck in the future.
It’s because people Keep so many every year fish it’s like that everywhere I can’t count how many times iv seen tons of fish killed in a day my saying is they can’t grow to be trophies if there killed if everyone was a sport fisherman then we would be hooking wall hangers the fishing community has grown so much now you can’t even go out on a Monday to catch a break I guess no one works anymore 😂
Me and some buddies go up there early November, lodge is closed by then but you can still get a goat trail there, my boots were getting froze to those rocks on the shore, good times. Can’t wait for this year, been running spinning reel and thinking of getting into fly fishing this time around
@@ReelLifeFishing607thanks, I’ve hooked steelies but never landed one, they always spit the hook, but watching your vid you make it look effortless so maybe I’m setting it too hard like I’m bass fishing
@@lukef2945 Thanks I lose my fair share as well. What I think helps is setting the hook down stream, not pulling the hook from the fish. Also they surface roll or jump then burst after hooking and this is not the time to put it to them by any means, feather them back down and the fight is on. Tight Lines 🤙🏼
Yes for sure!! The trees above and slope behind did not allow me to get a cast in there! Structure creating pockets of soft water in a fast river are always prime spots!!
Hey! Just subscribed! I’m currently @ Rochester. I’m currently taking RIT college. I’m raised the whole my life in Florida. Would love to fish there! Where is this if ya not mind me asking? I’ve been trying to get some steelhead at oak orchard dam. No lucky yet Awesome video!
That’s Awesome you are not far! This is a pretty known body of water, the dam can be good I like to hop around. This stretch is near the St. Mary’s Archery Club. Thanks for Subscribing maybe I’ll make a FL video sometime.
I tight line nymph on a 10ft 8wt, 11ft leader w/ sighter indicator, as little weight as I can get away with, 8-6lbs tippet, running egg type flys, beads, and sacs. The Fly really is the only way to go for this technique. I hope this answers anyone’s questions. Appreciate it thanks for watching!

Are the gloves you’re wearing just latex or nitrile gloves? Do they provide much warmth, or are they mainly to keep your fingers dry in the cold water?
@@kinahawi Nitrile. They do not provide much warmth but dry hands are warm hands. Under fingerless wool gloves I still have feel of the fly line without my hand actually getting wet.
It almost time, baby!!! TIGHT LINE, fellas
Nice
Thank you!

Good catches. I always cast the shore before I step in. I missed a few biff ones like that
That’s awesome!! Wish that was still the case!! Can only hope continued stocking efforts can help numbers and quality!

Steelhead run along the stream/river edges when the water is high. Might be why you spooked one near that log.
