As a Chinese, what you ate there was the hottest instant hot pot, made in the Hunan Province in China, where people eat crazy hot and spicy stuffs. It amazed me that you finished it all. 👍

The instant noodle package you bought is Chinese and made in China.

Japanese cuisine is basically sweet, based on fish and chicken, and seasoned with soy sauce and miso.
Chinese food in some regions, especially Korean food, where all the dishes are spicy.
I'm an old-fashioned Japanese, so I don't like spicy food, so I can't eat instant food made in China or Korea because it's too spicy...

Thanks! That’s good to know because I have been trying eat more ramen and other Asian foods and every time I buy ramen from the Asian store it’s hot and I don’t like overly hot food and sometime I get lucky and can omit the spice but sometimes it’s all mixed together so I know now to make sure I’m buying Japanese noodles and not Chinese or Korean.

I see what went wrong. The center of the lid has a plastic knockout about 1/4" wide. Watching another video with a similar hot pot, that knockout wasn't there, so the steam escaped through that hole and thus the lid didn't bulge from the pressure build up. On your Hot Pot, that knockout was still in place. As I said below, I am surprised it didn't go BOOM! So that is something to keep in mind if you or anyone reading this gets one of these Hot Pots. Make sure you pop out that knockout in the middle before putting the lid on.

What's funny is that when he put all of the chili poweder in, nothing else was in the container. He could have just poured half into another container. People usually say "Well that was too much" when they are adding to a liquid like salt to soup and there's no going back.
Its hilarious mav was more scared of the hotpot bloating than he was of a fox 😂😂

Foxes are probably the most innocuous and afraid-of-humans of any of the wild canid species, and they are also the smallest. There is no reason to fear a fox unless you have a toddler or an infant roaming around by themself.

That was one of the best videos Mav has done. When that hot pot began to expand it was a combination horror comedy show. I laughed out loud. Also, Mav was like, "I'll just put a few fingers in front of my face and when the boiling hot pot explodes, I will okay." Fortunately everything turned out okay. Hats off to the Hot Pot. Great performance.

Hey Mav. The reason for the handle falling off of your pan is the metal slider in the handle itself. When you clip the handle onto the pan you have to slide that tab all the way towards the pan to prevent the handle from collapsing. And when you want to store the handle again you slide that tab back to be able to unclip the handle.

Hello Mav. I started watching your videos in late 2021. I gotta say those were bleak times for me on a mental and personal level, going to a point where I was about to do something very drastic.
Watching your videos helped me out quite a lot by keeping the dark thoughts away even if only for a while. Eventually, I sought professional help and dug my way out of the trenches and now I'm in a much better place compared to back then.

Jesus does indeed love you. Your creator wants a personal relationship with you, seek and you will find. I know you may have doubts at first, as I used to mock it myself, but it and He is the truth, and He is the way, and the light. This short life we have in this world be over soon, the pain, and death will be no more after, as our God is offering us eternity if We make him Lord, and follow his will, repent and change. Im not gonna tell you it gets 100 percent better after you accept Jesus as Lord and savior but it secures your soul. Im writing this out of love, I know the pain you feel that lingers in your heart, and God does too. He is willing to help, we just have to humble ourselves, before the world has to. Theres so much I would love to talk to you about and tell you, to try and plant seeds in your heart. Hey Mav! Love the Japanese stuff lately. Lived in Shiga Prefecture for a year and miss all the crazy stuff.
Just wanted to help you out with that water-spilling saucepan. The little bar on the handle is a slider. If you push that little bar all the way up to the pot (base of the handle) it will prevent the handle from squeezing closed and collapsing :)

Be careful around animals that should normally be scared of people. That fox looked healthy though so maybe it's used to people feeding it. But it's better to err on the side of caution unless you want to get some rabies shots.

Chinese American here. Hotpot is from China. There's quite a few Hotpot restaurants in metropolitan American cities and I highly recommend trying it before eating the instant hotpot version (the difference is as wide as the difference between real ramen and convenience store instant ramen). I went to Paris last year and Hotpot restaurants were everywhere as well. Don't worry, not all of the soups are spicy! If you go to an Asian supermarket like H Mart you'll probably find even more types of Chinese Instant Hotpot meals and Instant Rice with Meat meals using the same calcium oxide heating pad.
I have been watching TH-camrs in various Asian countries who go to hotpot restaurants and they look so amazing! I’m dying for our city to get a good one!

MAV, the priceless moments was "Your Hot Pot crackling swelling moments ". Expected the hot pot to explode, any minute. Many years ago, I had experience a Milwaukee Asian restaurant " Chinese Hot Spicy Dish" being served 2 tables behind me. Served with lid on it, once removed, the spice took the whole oxygen out of the room, literally. Most of us had to leave the restaurant, to be able to breath (we took our meals to tables outside).. We all waited, until the customer left and the restaurant owner gave us OK to return inside. Fans were turned on, and I had smelled scent of matches were burnt. Apologies given by owner, we all received free dessert. It was explained that dish was extra spicy from a particular remote area. The customer had lived in that area, and loved the dish. I am surprised you could stay inside the truck while eating. You are brave with your curiosity, I give you that!!!!
I like how Mav uses all or most of the sponsorship products even after he already did the required spot for them (like the tires here) idk just makes things seem more genuine, it's a nice touch.

Omg Mav if you get a chance and have a Hot Pot Resturant near you then you HAVE TO try the real Chinese Hot Pot it’s amazing!!! You can order fresh sliced beef, pork, shrimp, tofu, all kinds of mushrooms, noodles, veggies etc and I am really impressed that you actually finished that self heated spicy hot pot lol it was sooo spicy when I first tried it 🌶️ 🥵

Hi Mav, that is actually a japanese take of a Chinese sichuan dish called Ma La hotpot or spice numbing hot pot.
This had EVERYTHING! The drama and suspense of the hot pot LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was awesome and I so needed this after a long day. Your eyes were as wide as saucers!

The red fox was looking for an easy meal. He had probably become accustomed to humans by visiting the cabins along the north shore and getting free handouts. I had a red fox at my cabin in Ontario that had lost his fear of humans. Every night at 8:00pm he would be sitting in my yard, looking for a free meal. He walked right up to me while I was cleaning some grouse outside!

I found that these Chinese instant hot pot tend to be super spicy. I guess they couldn't make it taste good so they just add spice to make you can't taste anything😂

Have to say I’m a bit jealous of where you grew up and call home.
I made a trip up to the North Shore this past summer and on out the Gunflint and did a solo canoe trip in the BWCA. And I just absolutely fell in love with that area.

They might as well close down. They were almost never open over the past three years I’ve gone up. Open a few hours like 2 days a week during peak season. No dine in and lines a block long for window pickup only and limited selection of pizzas that they’d make. I don’t eat out in GM anymore. I make my own food at camp now.

It's April 21rst 2023. I'm doing much better now. Still no pooing. And started passing gas to day. It's been 4 day's sens my gallbladder removal. Mav I just love'ya buddy you have a good soul :)
