- ----------------------LYRICS AND INFO----------------------------
** Lyrics **
Built from blind faith
Passed down from self-induced fantasy
Turn a page to justify
Conjuring power - it opens wide
On your seventh day,
is that how it's done?
Twisting your eyes to perceive
all that you want
To assume from ignorance
Inflicting wounds with your
cross-turned dagger
[Chorus:]
Inside crystal mountain
Evil takes its form
Inside crystal mountain
Commandments are reborn
All the traps are set to confine
All who get in the way of the divine
In sight and in mind of the hypocrite
A slave to the curse forever confined
[Solo: Schuldiner]
Shatter the myth
Don't cut yourself
On your words against
dreams made of steel
Stronger than any faith
That inflicts pain and fear,
is that how it's done?
Twisting your eyes to perceive
all that you want
To assume from ignorance
Inflicting wounds with your
cross-turned dagger
[Repeat chorus]

the saddest part is that we never got to see him play painkiller at least once ...rip chuck
Rolando Tobias or voice of the soul, or cosmic sea...the list goes on
JDSV destiny to
Without Judgement is one of their best song but they never played it live.
That is what i was thinking right now. Such an amazing song
I don’t think they played leprosy live either. It’s one of my favorite songs by then too.
And to think this man died 4 years before TH-cam even existed. RIP Chuck.
0:51 Dave Mustaine up on stage...
it just fucks me up to know that i am NEVER going to see Chuck playing Live..
Hail Chuck!!
Al-Qultus Namsar same here bro 😞
Never will I ever get to see chuck play voice of the soul live. Rest in peace.
Richard Christie...one of the most under-rated drummers out there...woulda been great to see him and Chuck playing together for a few more years; I would have loved to see what they would have done together after a good decade of practiing together.
Truth is drumming in this song must be a lot tighter. He plays it sloppy enough to recognize. Cymbals late or missed, double bass late or missed.
@Omertahun it's not sloppy. He's using his artistic license as a drummer to help convey the songs deep emotion and meaning.
His drums on perseverance are godly, maybe the best drums on a death album and that’s an absurdly high bar when the 2 previous drummers were Hoglan and reinert. Death had the best group of drummers ever
@puppetmaster8551 i would put reinert at the top for fusion style and gene having to be mentored basically by sean and richard had to learn from all that while still learning to really drum. Sean was the the professor while gene and richard were students. All 3 are great but sean still holds the crown for speed, jazz infusion techniques and his style are unmatched. On the other side gene is by the best for adapting cause he's played in so many bands and so many different styles

Chuck and richard christie are such a sick team
All chucks drummers were and are great and amazing. Sean reinert will always be my favorite due to his jazz infusion and metalic drumming and just his down right brutality on human
Is it just me, or is Chuck fucking ripped?
EmperorKyuu60 it ain't you, man. He had guns.
Lots of metal heads are gym rats. Richard Christy was pretty big at one point. Had to be to hit those drum fills.
@@JHSIGLERyeah check out christy in their last ever show. he’s pretty ripped
The best metal songwriter of all time. Not one album was bad rip chuck.
Chuck..Remembering You..Your music is in my heart.
Richard Christy is the fucking man
Death are just unbelievable, best band on the planet. so fucking good!
Great, great song. Guys, don't forget it's been 10 years now since the master left us. R.I.P Master... We'll miss you forever.
Almost 20 now
@@calebbean138422 now.
The accuracy of drums, plus the feeling of guitar (added vibratto, pinch armonics and slides) made this an exceptional interpretation.
It's one of their easier songs so there is a bit more freedom
Richard Christy is the shit. I hope I get to meet him one day.
Still can't get why bands like Metallica sold millions copies when THIS band right here deserved much more success. I mean, of course Metallica started to suck in the period of Death's peak and making awful records just to gain unbelievable amounts of cash is terrible. Chuck and all the guys who have played with him in his project (come on, Death is not an ordinary band. Most of their music revolved around Chuck's will) are 300% more talented than the majority of "metal" jerks around. That's just unfair.
metallica is more fun to listen to for most people. it's easier to get into. death has lots of time changes and is complex, so anybody who just casually listens to music will get turned off by it
Alien Drumming!
Unique and inspiring!!
You know you are a good drummer when you can outplay Gene Hoglan 😅🤘
And faster
@Samuel Jones exactly
He does try with a couple of fancy jazz but nay, way not tight enough
I like Gene’s playing style in this album better, but at the last album Rickhard Christy’s playstyle is really good imo.
honestly hurt to think of this man having to die in pain.r.i.p chuck.great death metal band.
So this one's just called the crystal...
what a fucking talent this band blow away most of the band today
Yea i seen this tour live in Detroit at the Irock was awesome! I still got my. Concert t -shirt! Hahaha.
How many pinch harmonics are you gonna do?
Chuck: Yes.
@LichKingSkullWart I figure chuck was letting the fans finish off the title as it is so well known.
720P doesn't do justice. He needs 4K quality in a flatscreen plasma TV
@DeathinHD
I think it was just Chuck's style, using the second word of the title first...then finishing it off with the first word. Notice how he introduced Suicide Machine in this same concert, it's the same way.
This performance is pure fire!
Does he never use his pinky finger?
Dude, you're awesome for sharing this with us. Thank you.
R.I.P Chuck… This is one of my favourite Death songs and its sad that i can’t see this live ever…
This guy deserved so much more. He wasn’t an alcohol addict like most of the metal artists and lived a life that was healthier than most of metal artists and then he died in few years because of really bad luck…
The Church House Inn gig in Taunton Mass. Got to meet Chuck. The place was electric. Human dropped and my bamd was on fire. What a time.
Arrrrrrrr!!!!! O melhor para sempre!!!! 🤘🏻🌋
i am so in love with that band
@XpancowX It is what it is man, you need to appreciate what we still get to enjoy.
Fuck!!!! Chuck it's a amazing song, R.IP Chuck. You living for ever in your Music.
Chuck, you're GOD!!
keep seeing puns about how the security guy looks like dave mustaine. Looks like James LaBrie (dream theater)to me, and I thought I seen em in another death video, Death live in 1988 or something like that.
Wtf with richard christy?? Man is insanely good
Lost too early.RIP
dude, chuck's kinda ripped.
The drummer is a fuckin beast
That snare is so fu*king tasty
RIP Chuck!
Shannon's wearing a Nuclear Blast t shirt... going to subscribe to DeathinHD :D
Can Anyone tell me what he say in the intro? "That one is about a mountain....."
He said " The next one is about a mountain built upon deception and greed: the Crystal Mountain."
Chuck and Death are at the top of the metal arts. They are untouchable.metal Lou Csanko 2018
This was so real so honest
Great mix.
Bom demais!!!
Yes it is
@theapexproject I guess it's what happens when you keep moving all your equipment and running around the entire country.
I can show this video to my friends who are metal posers, that metalheads don't need tattoos and piercings to show their metalness.
@KissMeImPunk I listen to all my music on a great pair of headphones so the neighbors dont get pissy, but your right.
memories arabian death with you chuck..love from malaysia.
@DeathinHD Maybe he just preferred the name crystal...
so siiick
the fuck episodes were you watching
De lo mejor que lastima que hoy no se haga música así
Bassist full great
pray
yes
Is the line up info in the description correct? This is Richard Christie. But it says Hoglan.
you're right its definitely christie. also its shannon hamm on guitar not bobby koelble. i think that line-up is referring to the actual song crystal mountain, because gene and bobby played it on the album
I miss you so badly Chuck, RIP xxx
посредине жаба сидит! =)
death 2013 :(
is there never a live version of the spanish acoustic guitar on the outro?
No
There's a version of Voice of the Soul with Scott playing acoustic on the DTA tours on TH-cam fyi
It looks like an overweight Dave Mustaine is on the stage...
He sounds like spongebob singing, love this song!!
You have to call Tom Kenny and challenge him in that😎🤘
LOL Wut?
The tweekers Valhalla crystal mountain
i prefer chuk volcals on studio
Richard Christy is the best on drums. fck yeah AK74
