The fibers are twisted: two ply reverse wrap
I recommend using gloves if doing several stinging nettles. I could feel it tingle in my fingers even the night after.
One or two is no problem - I have done so plenty of times. But making this line gave me "funny" fingers. :D
I didn't have time to do a lot of fishing that day. But my plan is to make a video where i catch a fish and fry it. ...hopefully.
run them through a hot flame before you strip them to burn off the stings

Very cool video bro. I could continue watching this forever. A few really nice shots in there! I tried those kind of "hooks" a few times made from wood and find the size is crucial. In ancient finds they usually are a bit bigger. It probably need to be that to get jammed in there. But didn't catch anything substantial so far. It's hard enough sometimes with a normal hook when they little bastard steal the worm. Thanks for the inspiration. There is not much on TH-cam I like but your stuff is awesome.
Thanks my friend. I only fished for 10 minutes or so. My plan is to catch and fry a fish. I know its not gonna be easy. As you write; its not easy catching anything anyway. :/
I had read about using nettle as a fishing line but hadn’t seen it. Thanks. What size fish do you think you could pull out on nettle cordage?
I don't know. It depends on the rod and how thin you make the cordage. But If its to thick nothing is gonna bite. I will have to give it a try. :)

That was so great! I need to look into primitive hooks. It seems simple enough.. but you must be very delicate cutting the hole and sharpening the ends. Very well done... I will be watching for your 'catching' and cooking video! Thanks tons.

Unfortunately I didn't catch any in the US :( We were just passing through :/ Had a overnighter south east of Des Moines and had a short visit to Elk Horn (Danish city) Saw a lot of corn fields. :O

You can make some nettle soup with the fish. Great video man!
I will make fish and nettle soup, I am not sure I will mix them. But It would have been smart in the video, if I had caught a fish :)

Only fished for 5 minutes. My plan was to make a sequel where i caught a fish, and cooked it. But i am not sure i will make it, not very much watch this video, they wanna see trips. :/
