Blade Runner 2049 is a classic in my book. The BluRay doesn't have much in the way of visual effects behind the scenes. Hopefully, a future DVD will have more.
There's hardly any VFX material on dvd's and blurays these days, I'm not even disappointed anymore, I just expect none. Gone are the days of celebrating how fantastic the illusions are. I guess it's the "CGI sucks" wave that does it. TH-cam is the go-to source for breakdowns, and Cinefex remains the intellectual source.
@@MediaBuster He's easily one of the best modern directors. His run of great films is pretty much peerless in modern times. Ps your channel is an absolute embarrassment, the most hilarious right wing culture war dreck.
Such a stunning story! 90% of people viewing it would hardly understand the tech behind yet the stuff he talks about. Like the minuscule facial ticks or the fly way hairs. Thats whats make 3d look realistic!
In the original BR there's a close up of Rachel's eye in the Voight Kampf test and the eye is green, but every other time I've ever seen her the eyes are brown. It seems like the film makers would have thought hard about this so I"m not sure
I think it's deeper than that. Decard knows the real Rachael died so anything is just second rate copy - the problem is there is nothing wrong with the duplicate that now stands in front of him. What can he say, he has to find something wrong with her...something....I think he would also know that finding something wrong with the new Racheal would piss Wallace off. So fk it you got the eyes wrong. It's a bloke thing.
@@OutandAboutwithTrev I felt bad for the Rachel copy. Probably thought she was the real Rachel and heartbroken at Deckard's rejection, only to get popped in the dome by Luv.
in the Sapper vs K fight scene.... Dave Bautista's face and Ryan Gosling's face was....eeerrr.... digitally put...mapped .... on top of Sapper and K's faces.... so... werre those stunt doubles fighting in that scene?
What a gem of an interview. John Nelson totally just dove into the details of how they pulled this stuff off. Thank you for uploading this

Extras from The Lord of the Rings are still unmatched. Nothing came even close to that.
special edition will come out soon to part fools from their money...
I download every making off video from youtube and make my own behind the scenes blu ray :)
that's the way to do it!
Great information and insight. His straight forward sincerity is refreshing.
So interesting!!! Love Villeneuve's vision. And I am so happy that Ridley did not direct this movie.
You have low standards. Villeneuve is a boring filmmaker.
Name your top 3 directors.

where are the visual effects of blade runner? This should be re-titled... "Discussion with John Nelson on the Visual Effects of..." Come on people!
I was completely fooled by digital Rachel! That was done 8 years ago!
Roger Deakins what a Genius .
Outstanding movie!
" The Visual Effects of Blade Runner 2049 " with no supporting visuals whatsoever. Genius.
So we learn: 80s make-up is the key for the future of si-fi-movies!
you're not clever or funny. just kinda pathetically ignorant and boring.
Brilliant movie...
it's so interesting
