Fantastic job explaining all of the little things that make Inquisition unique. The vocals are obvious, but the little things Dagon does on guitar add up to a special sound. Phenominal video, as always.
Inquisition is a monster of black metal which is why they're my favorite black metal band. I can listen to them all day and not get tired. And for a band that consist only of two guys?, they sound like a band of 4 guys; they are the best.
Inquisition is my favourite band and I have to say this is a great explanation of their sound and the song you came up with sounds awesome, mate. Amazing job!
4:07 - You probably already know this, but Dagon gets those bends by applying pressure to a floyd rose as he plays (or other equivalent floating bridge, not really sure what specifically he uses, doesn't really matter)
I was feeling very empty by the fact that no music was satisfying me entirely lately, despite Katatonia new song lol and this video gave this great insight that has been months that I don't listen to Inquisition. Epic.
Huge Rock 'N' Roll influence which also comes from Bathory, no doubt. Quorthon's style, in the beginning, was also primitive Black Metal with Rock 'n' Roll influences. There are lots of riffs that sound like a "spiritual" evolution of Bathory's stuff.
Hey bud thanks for breaking all of this down for us to learn and study. As a newer Inquisition fan it is truly interesting to learn all of their nuances to achieve their awesome black metal sound. The bends were what initially drew me into them, that's not something you get a lot of at all in this subgenre and it sticks out in a cool way. Not to mention the total transcending of black metal vocal styling by Dagon, his style sounds as if he's some sort of anticosmic being that narrates the end times. Very informative Farvann, you have earned a new subscriber. Thank you!
You said recently that you can’t shred, but I’d say you can, very well. Just started playing myself and even with one foot in the door already with music, the guitar is and can be very difficult. Great video
i love the riffing, but i never really liked the vocals...but then i saw them live, and it works so good live that now i can really enjoy it on record :D i really want them back live on stage.....
Slayer huh.. thats a cheap shot man, so cheap, here i was thinking i'm gonna learn about all sorts of new and exciting music and this madlad decides to go for what i consider to be one of the single most evil riffs ever. YEEESS
Dagon does pretty much the same vocal technique as Abbath. Something I like to call the Croak. Its a sound I also became obsessed with as a child because it made me sound like a robot or something. Black metal robot frogs? That'd be something.
While I was pretty aware of the guitar elements which make them special it was great to see them pointed out in such detail. Also what they don’t really use ! Really great video and the song is fantastic!
Awesome video on the unique guitar playing style that is inquisition! You forgot one style which I think is critical! On some of the open chords (usually Em) Dagon would strum the chord then “bend” the note by pressing his palm into the tremolo on a Floyd rose, not using the whammy bar!
I love the way you trying to do the vocals so. I think his using his throat to make that noise but you did it like 5*s . Rob Scallon is really a talent but I think you are a different person with a different channel, different taste in content, maybe people going to your channel from him (youtubr telling this) keep up the good work, keep up your true self. I’m very curious what kind of modulation effects Dagon is using on the newest album, in particular the really warped vibrato sounds on the single note passages, I don’t think it’s a chorus pedal, I could be wrong though. Any help would be appreciated
Loved it not only for how accurate you were in describing how to reproduce the guitar sounds but also it was entertaining AF! :D You earned yourself a subscriber, good sir! Also, really appreciate how your mix sounded quite good (sans the vocals). What were those programmed drums? Superior drummer?

Seeing them play live is insane. They sound so full and it was not what I was expecting at all.
That is pretty much the opposite of what everyone else says and thinks.
The vocals got me into Inquisition. It was so uniqe I immedietly fell in love with the band. The riffs are nice too of corse.
The vocals are truly unique and sinister sounding.
Me too
Same here🇳🇵
Same here. I’m slightly obsessed now. Well more than slightly.
I honestly love the vocals. Didn't at first then I got into Mongolian singing and realized how amazing Dagon is vocally and instrumentally

14:00 I notice the strong lack of a long deep froggy "Eeeeeeeeeeeeee!".
Love their slow and heavy stuff like ‘desolate...’
Saw Inquisition few years back in a small club @ Finland, it was very memorable and they sounded huge
Coolest band of all time. Thanks for this video, dude. It's always great to hear from others who recognize the singular awesomeness of Inquisition.
You finally did the Inquisition tutorial. You can retire now 😄
dagon is gonna steal these riffs for the new album lol
I have no words for how effin' awesome and ass-kicking this song is! I'm also glad to see another tutorial at your channel. :)

Farvann, I love your videos, style and humor, and of course your songs are very solid. Best metal channel. You come here, you get educated :)))
I just got into inquisition.... And i found this tutorial i never knew you made
Early Inquisition is used a lot in my prayer hour
Keep the metal primitive! Yeah! Love Inquisition. I enjoyed watching you rip those riffs.
Bro, this is the 3rd video I watch straight -I just had the chance of finding them).Subscribed
I like how you are using the chocolate rain technique to not breath into the mic while recording your vocals
that riff at 5:35 is crazy
is that an actual inquisition riff?
Riff from 4:45 is very similar to Burzum. Varg talked about it in how to play black spell of destruction in right way.
based huuttis e g f. But It's not important, It's all about strumming style.
While I was pretty aware of the guitar elements which make them special it was great to see them pointed out in such detail. Also what they don’t really use ! Really great video and the song is fantastic!

Farvann ohh yes. 😃 But nowadays who knows this even.... If you have 500k + subscribers and you tell them to eat a pile of warm sh*t, they'll do it.
Make it metal, and make them eat black diarrhea
You've convinced Skull to wear one of his Inquisition shirts in an upcoming video.

This is badass! Im a noob to Inquisition, do you (or anybody) have some song suggestions for me?
Just discover by yourself ;)
nocturnal gatherings and wicked rites
Inquisition never made a bad album in my opinion. So you can't go wrong wherever you start.
Literally the best black metal band on the planet. Even the early thrash demos contain amazing riffs.
I like the ominous doctrines album
Yes! I've wanted this for so long! Inquisition rules! And so do you Farvann!
Disclamer: No child pornography was used during the making of this video
