Note that the side that says "talk" is where you talk into. So you actually want to tape it to the flat side of the mic that doesn't say "talk". Otherwise your voice will sound muddy on comms. And you can put a little more electrical tape around the red LED itself (make a cylinder) to make it dimmer.
