Just curious- why did you choose to do the trail backwards?

Before there were markers hammered into the rocks, we found it easier to follow the route to do it backwards, so I've been in that habit for decades. Also, you have fewer awkward moments where multiple groups converge and then follow each other through the entire route.

Yes, the hike doesn't have a soundtrack when you're actually there. Just peace and quiet :-)
