I think it's because people are afraid that it will "turn them into a furry" because that is something that is constantly said about furries. I mean it's wrong, you can't accidentally become a furry you need to choose whether or not you are a furry in order to actually be a furry. Although many people don't actually know this. The main reason people are afraid of it though is that they think it will make them outcast.
@@draconic5129 I believe most of that is a joke (not sure about everyone though). I don't think it's necessarily the fact that it's furries, but the sense of loss of self. Look at S.D. Locke's SCP-001 proposal. It's the same sort of uncomfy feeling of "I can't let these things make me into one of them"

Just a word of warning, I highly recommend using a guide for the later parts of the game if you want to actually reach the end. If you don't do a fairly specific and easy to miss set of actions throughout the game it becomes impossible to progress without reaching a bad end.
(flashbacks to missing that one interaction, therefore locking myself in the bad ending)
I think in hard mode you will always reach the end with Dr K?
Unless its something else I don't remember?
He will eventually get all ending dw, don't understimate his effort, he will know the way to reach the true ending

Needless to say, I was jumping between "Which way do I go?", "Hey! Quit taunting me!" And "Poor soul, he didn't see that coming"
One of my funniest moments was barely evading one of the creatures before the giant dragon room, only to slide into the last crystal.

This game walks the razor sharp tightrope of cutsey-cartoony horror and furry fetish.
Yet for some reason, subconsciously, it terrifies me more than any alien or zombie survival horror game in recent years.

This game is full of surprises, in every sense of the word. Surprisingly competent, surprisingly PG while also surprisingly fetish-y, surprisingly had a pro-humanity element despite itself attached to a surprisingly likeable character (who will be the source of a "less bad than usual" ending, I bet), and is just plain surprising in how many new and (seemingly) one-off elements it's able to throw at the player. Hopefully it finishes strong.
Don't know if I'll ever play this or talk about it with anyone, but I'm kinda' glad I watched this. Just kinda'. And what _was_ up with the cat's clothing near the beginning...? I think that's someone's OC. Upon research, the creator has a Patreon, so that's almost certainly someone's OC.
In the Special Edition, Patron's OC is incorporated to the game. But this is the original version (he has no patreon at that point), it may be just some "waving cat" toys you can find on Asian merchandise shop.

I know this is not intended to be a horror game, but thinking of it as one actually helps me be less uncomfy. Came for the title saying it was horror, stayed because even though it's not my kind of thing, Puro is a very likeable character
I want to say as a person who's played this game. (No Spoilers)
The game mechanics are hella confusing. Not just with controls but the mechanics. That's why I refused to finish. To how everything was just fucked and honestly not even fair. Majority of it was programmed to be weighted against you, not balanced.
The only reason why its hard is because most situations only have one way to win and even if you do it right you need to hope that the rng gods are with you
So basicaly it's the _"Reject Humanity, Embrace Furry"_ thing
Thats why the remake ver is remaking things and some or maybe most of the boss fights and puzzles
I mean, the fact it's all stacked against you is kinda the point. It's a fetish game after all.

Out of all the games I never thought I'd see Manly play "furry transformation" the game. It's a weird feeling, but while the game might seem "weird" I have to say that it is a pretty decent game honestly, the story is alright and while it can be very difficult at times, I liked that challenging aspect when I played it.
I hope you do complete the game, it'll be an interesting experience. Also Puro is best boy, everyone loves him uwu
