1:19 Yes that’s Octavia from the 100. In a question “What’s the weirdest thing you ever had to do as an actor?” Marie Avgeropoulos, the actress who portrayed Octavia, described the toilet scene from supernatural. 22:46 Sam did not leave Dean when he met with Ruby, he only sneaked out for a while.
Even though this was a Sam centric episode I really felt for kid Dean. His tough guy act was clearly a defense mechanism, that way no one would bully or bother him and he didn't have to worry about forming attachments since they would be moving at the drop of a hat. But because of this he never got to enjoy high school and he never had a teacher like Sam did this episode that made him think about what he wanted to do with his life.
The young actor playing Sam is the same one we've seen playing Sam before Sam going off with Ruby must have been for something that didn't take very long, so Sam could keep it from Dean. The leather jacket Dean wears is a hand me down from his dad, so makes sense that he'd still be wearing it years later.
Kind of a funny fact (and another cameo kek), this episode is shot in the same school they used in the Vampire diaries pilot episode, and both of the episodes released in 2009, wonder what Candice thought about being hired for the same sort of role in the same location lol
17:23 on a note about people just acting awful while also not knowing what was going on at home with them, and just showing plain kindness. I had a customer come in and it was during a sale (I worked in the mens suits section). Most customers that flow through there are fine to deal with but during sales as one can imagine, tempers can start flying when coupons don’t apply to sale items. She was on the verge of tears and just trying to make sure the shirt was 20% off, as she found it in a pile that stated it was. It wasn’t and I was trying to explain to her that there was a store wide coupon that week for 20% off and that it wasn’t the end of the world. She broke down and stated she had just lost her husband the night before and that there was no one else close enough to help her do all the small things, like finding something for him to wear in the casket. While I could’ve just sympathized and moved on with the transaction, this poor lady just needed a hug. So I politely asked her if she wanted a hug and I gave her a hug. I didn’t care if it cost me my job (it didn’t, I had fantastic managers and team there) she needed to know in that moment that she wasn’t alone and that someone could understand her pain and maybe even absorb some of the weight she was carrying. I never saw her again and I hope she’s doing okay. Moral of the story, just be nice to people. Don’t lash out because you never know what people are going through. Not everyone is going to tell you, and ALWAYS get consent before offering up a hug or something if the sort.
There’s a joke that Colin Ford looks more like young Jared Padalecki than real young Jared did 😂 like if you look at his photos as a kid or in highschool he looks so different and Colin literally looks more like him 😂
I love the actors cast for young winchesters~ Seeing Dean as a gym coach, awesome! Overall very enjoyable episode! I was also curious why Sam was just all of a sudden back with Dean. I had a few things go through my head as to why and then just shooed them out waiting for the show to explain it.
Hi, J. Some story: I was working at school like math teacher. I loved this work and I understood how important to inspire kids and help them to find their way. Unfortunately work was exhausting for me and low paid. After years working I could motivate even myself. That is one of many reasons why a great teacher is a rare phenomenon .sadly.
What happened to Dirk wasn't Sam's fault, he wasn't in the wrong for defending himself or starting the nickname "Dirk the jerk". It was the rest of the kids who continued that, the mocking, the teasing, they became the bullies, they were the ones who went too far.
Dirk was a jerk. He was in pain and lashed out. Sam didn’t have the backstory. It’s really hard for kids to be able to see other’s perspectives. I think that’s what Sam learned. Every villain has a story.
@@rachell4973 I made fun a girl when i was like 9 and her brother hit me. I ran and told my dad and he said... Oh yeah, Well you deserved to get hit. So I never did that again...
This was a pretty good episode. I always enjoy the MOTW episodes where they go to different places... It was cool they went to an old school of theirs. Flashback Sam and Dean were so great! They fit their roles so well and the old Dean was so good, his voice was so similar to Jensens. Young Sammy was so sweet! I loved seeing Marie A and Candice from VPD, very cool.
man i love this ep. every time i watch it it still gets me. all the layers in both the MOW story and the long term Sam and Dean story. plus hello coach Dean, lol. You made some really great comments about the teacher/Sam stuff and another thing i like is that that speech is for Sam in the show but it can be for any kid watching the show as well. Also shout out to Colin Ford who just kills as young Sam. I can totally buy him as young Sam or Jared. love that Jared brough him to Walker as well to play a younger him. Dean went off with ruby only for a night or few hours or whatever as he is sneaking around with Ruby behind Deans back. As they stated in their earlier chat he wasn't ready to take on Lilith and had been getting weaker so he needed to get stronger again.
I always bust out laughing when Dean basically destroys that little kid’s stomach for no reason
The casting here is amazing. Colin Ford as young Sam is spot on.
The fact that Colin also plays young Cordell on Walker proves this.

A little fun fact Jensen really pegged that boy with the ball and it wasn't scripted. And the ooze was in season 2 No Exit.
Bless Dean with his short red shorts...😂❤
Amen 🙏🏼 to that 😂😍!

His “I’m a superhero!”
That’s been his mantra to protect himself for his entirety
Colin Ford to this day plays Jared's young self. 14 years later😅 incredible casting
Colin Ford is such a perfect young Sam. It's so emotional to get these glimpses into their childhood. Great episode.
Love that both Caroline and Octavia are in this episode. I always feel so bad for Barry.
No Sam just snuck off with Ruby to do nefarious things.
The young actor playing Sam is the same one we've seen playing Sam before
Sam going off with Ruby must have been for something that didn't take very long, so Sam could keep it from Dean.

Love this
I love Dean in those red gym shorts
He is perfect as a PE teacher
Iconic cosplay.
I love the “retirement ceremony”.
I’m almost 50 and I had many wonderful teachers that LOVED teaching and kids.
I love that so much
I think Dean came out the Womb with that jacket 😂😂
1000%

That low pay can murder your motivation. Our teachers need more money all around
Btw the first girl that got possessed was also in bones as a psyco stalker.

@@poohbearsmom2964 Right so you realize the same defense can be used for HITLER...
Sam has accountability for it, but he's not to blame for whole of Dirk's life that compounded the issues.

"I don't do parents." How Dean! LOL! This was kind of a deep & sad episode.
I need to find the dean plushy with the gym outfit again 😂😂😂
Thanks for making me go bump bum bum against my will lmao 🤣 5:26
XD
Probably my favorite episode in season 4. C:
I was so excited for this episode because of SWWEEEEETTT CAROLINE 💜 She's the best
so much hype!!
Wait she stabbed Sam in the chest and he didn't die or end up on the floor bleeding?
Yes I love the next episode
