This episode does a great misdirect I was going back and forth the entire time first watch. It seems much clearer on rewatch but they do lay out all really well to keep you guessing. And Dean and his male siren who go to his heart through beer, cars and great music. The distrust between the bothers in this episode is core to the season. Bobby Singer FTW always. Yeah both brothers are not fine. They need to talk about what happened, because part of them did mean what they said. Sam is tired of Dean being overprotective and controlling and deep down he does think Dean is weaker than him. Dean is tired of Sam keeping him in the dark and going behind his back and deep down he's jealous that he'd prefer to work with Ruby. Both of them need to find a comprise, try to see things through the others prospective but they can't do that if they talk and instead lie and say everything is fine.
I find it so satisfying that Deans perfect person, his siren, is to have a younger brother who is basically Sammy before Dean went to hell. Thats all he wants and needs.
I feel like this episode proves that Dean wants/needs a friend. It isn't healthy to only have one person to rely on or talk to, both brothers have only had each other since the show started, sure theirs Bobby and few others but Bobby is more like a parent figure so they don't talk to him about everything, plus they don't see him that much, same for the other supporting cast. Now Sam has a girlfriend and that would be fine if she and Dean got some what along but they don't so she and Sam are doing their own thing and Dean is left alone. Thankfully and without spoiling much this issue will get resolved in latter seasons
This was a good episode but any episode where the boys fight is so rough to watch. :( I did like seeing the guy from true blood! And I love that Bobby came in to save the day, I also like the episodes where Sammy gets the girl. ;)
