      Definitively streamer privilege.
      A couple weeks after Asmongold joined and started doing the level 50 content min ilvl, one of my friends set out to do the alliance raids from 50, 60, and 70 at min ilvl, starting with Labyrinth.
      After getting the word out to our fc and friends, we ended up with some 18-20 people ready to go half an hour before scheduled time, and we sat in pf, also shouting at regular intervals in the cities that people frequent, for close to 45 minutes before we were full.
      Meanwhile, Zack gets a full group in like 2 seconds for everything he does, including Coils which is essentially barren at the best of times. We had a lot of fun doing the alliance raids though, and aside from Labyrinth they were all essentially a cakewalk, despite few of us knowing actual mechanics due to roulette zerging and many of us not playing the raids at release. Labyrinth took us a good hour and a half to clear, a lot of it was players just dying to random stuff due to ilvl. Had a DRK tank (well, all 3 really) get absolutely obliterated by Behemoth for instance, needing constant attention from 2 healers. The other raids were usually done 2 at a time in the 2 hour slot we had, often finishing early.
      I ain't mad, it's great that they get to see this side of the game and community, though there are sure to be new players joining who want to do the same, and will get nowhere.
      I'm legit looking forward to Zack trying Ultimate, though I wonder if he'll be able to clear one before Endwalker.

      @Jay Bee ikr? streamer privilege is such a toxic thing to say. (Yes there are streamers who "got lucky" or only use their looks to be famous") but most of them. had to start from nothing. by waving their effort as "streamer privilege" means that they are de-valuing a lot of streamer's effort who started from nothing.
      And yes, lots of negative stuff happens to streamers as well.

You comparing cob to BA is ridiculous. Cob you need 8 and BA you can get up to 48 people. Why you comparing a ultimate to a Savage raid?

      @Jay Bee comparing DRS and extreme to ultimate makes no sense to me to be fair, yes i would say yes to your questions but in that kind of content i really don't care, with the exception of some really good extremes, exs are very easy to begin with. Also rich didn't contribute to anything at all because they all had the clear, he did his part decently well and played good but you can't talk about cintribution in this case because the already knew the fight in and out all except rich, it's the difference between a full fresh group figuring stuff together and discussing mechs and 7 players tutoring 1 person, but again it's ucob so it is kind of an extreme now so i shouldn't look at it as i look at current content.

      My definition of what is valid in any game of any kind. Did you use cheats? No. Did you see the boss die? Yes. Did you get the achievement if one is available? Yes. Congratulations, you had a valid run. That's how I look at it, how you get that valid clear is on you. This gate keeping stuff by tell poeple how the game is suppose to be played is just dumb and illogical. Regardless what you say on a person's clear of a game or content becomes opinion and opinion only. This gate keeping fails when the conditions above are met everytime. There is literally nothing you can do about that or say that will change that.
      I personally don't care, my Kefka savage clear was done at level 80, with two FC members and four randoms. We got the achievement and the mount. We cleared and it is valid. Old content with higher accessible gear and stats than when the content first came out. It was bound to get easier over time, especially with more people knowing the fight. I don't know why it's so surprising to the bitter players in the FFXIV community. Plus you're dealing with raiders from high-end WoW and whatever previous MMORPGs they've played in the past. For many of you, this FFXIV is your one and only MMORPG. For others, they've been raiding in games for the last 25+ years. They can come into a game like this, identify mechanics on the spot, memorize patterns, and be done in a fraction of the time it took you when it was your first MMO, first Ultimate, first ever challenging thing you ever did in a game in your life.
      People just need to learn to accept there's better players out there. Also it's weird how they judge getting through raids by how long it takes or who's shotcalling. That's not how you judge a good raider. A good raider's always been judged in games by how fast they adapt to mechanics when instructed or how fast they get the world first ever kill. The world first kills are the only blind runs that ever matter. After that, everyone watches them, studies them, learns what they can, and now have a leg up. But it doesn't really diminish the personal achievement of someone clearing after that, because the individual player still needs to be skilled on a micro level to get it done for themselves. Being instructed is kind of a given at this point. Even as a sprout, I have to instruct Alliance Raids constantly on how to clear shit like WOD in as few words as possible while covering only the most important aspects. Hey now, today's players are different from when it was released. General fight knowledge and gear progression makes it seem like it's easy but it wasn't on release. 530 gear is super easy to get. It's just tomes. Random casual player can just do their daily expert roulette and weekly Nier raid (not even weekly now since I think the coin lockout is gone) and get full 530 tome gear. And Relic is just a basic grind. You see plenty of bad players in Bozja. PLENTY. It's still easy enough to limp your way through Castrum, Delebrum and Dalriada.
      I'm still in pain over the BLM I saw the other day go Flare > Flare > Freeze and repeat on a single target fight. Or the "ice" BLM I saw during ShB MSQ dungeons who only casted ice spells. People are horrendously bad at the game but gearing to the latest ilvl is not difficult.

Those players may not be well known youtuber, or streamer, or something, but the fact that they're good at the game does not change.
      Four different times, three different games. One of the game was a same title but played on different period and different servers. Either because a friend/guildmate forwarded me, accidental applying when the guild was still growing, etc, I tended to end up on mid-high tier guilds/alliance (or whatever the game calls their version of it) that regularly clear end game contents or win server wide guild war. Sometimes, becoming an officer of said guilds just because I regularly socialize with other members and actually put some amount of effort to be good at the game.

    I think the misconception about ultimate's being hard is how the mechanics are 'rapid' fired for 17 minutes straight. Take TEA for instance and the first 2 minutes and 30 seconds you are literally doing something every second of the fight. You finish one mechanic and the next pops up. Doing an Ultimate and then going into a Savage there is definitely a difference in the pace of the fight. Take for instance P1s where the tank buster is literally a cast bar and you can pre-position to take the hit as to where in an Ultimate you have to already be in the position before it even happens. Not sure if Rapid Fire is the correct term to use here, but its basically just a faster dance that is just long and willing to give you arthritis in your later years in life.

      idk about all that. You mention LL is very fast paced. Not really, its just untelegraphed. BJCC is the same. AP and PA are rather slow af. And they also have castbar for their tbs. Not all of savage has a castbar. There's only one fast paced ultimate and that's UWU. It is true that the snapshots are faster in ultimate but that's it.
      Definitely a difference, but tbh, some savage mechanics are harder than some ultimate mechanics.
      I did clear all 3. I prefer uwu of the 3 bc its fast paced. I like ucob the least because I feel it's the slowest and it's a bit too long (yet I keep going back in there fml lol)

    The anxiety excuse is ridiculous. I get medicated for an anxiety disorder, and that person trying to gatekeep using mental health as an excuse is gross. You could make the argument that games like MMO's are generally rough on people with anxiety disorders, but there's the other side of the coin where people with social anxiety have a lot of that anxiety relieved by interacting through an avatar. It's way more nuanced than whatever trash they're saying. I swear, anxiety is the first thing people jump to nowadays when anxiety is literally an emotional response most organisms in the Animal kingdom experience. It's actually normal to experience it, and it's becoming indistinguishable when someone says "I have anxiety" if they really are talking about an anxiety disorder or just complaining about experiencing normal, expected anxiety.
    Whatever the case, saying someone who has people willing to help them clear a fight is shitting on people with anxiety is just wrong. You can't just say that stuff like it's a fact without some kind of explanation of how that conclusion was reached. People in PF who are unwilling to tolerate people with anxiety are shitting on people with anxiety, not someone playing the game for people's entertainment. They're just mad they paid for someone to clear for them, and Rich got paid to clear the fight.

I always found it much easier to socialize on MMOs than in real life thanks to that disconnect from it not being face to face. I've been a raid lead and I've mained healer since 2.0. These people who claim they're bad because of anxiety are just straight up bad and hiding behind a convenient mental health issue. We are also living an age where feeling a bit nervous before a speech or something is now blown out of proportion and made into an anxiety disorder. No idiot you're just nervous and that's normal.

      @shinon748 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@inCoderz bold of you to assume I'm not empathic to anxious people considering like I said in my post I have clinical anxiety myself. There is a distinct different between anxiety and feeling anxious. Feeling butterflies in your stomach before giving a big presentation or performance is not anxiety. That's just feeling nervous which happens to everyone. An anxious person does stuff that seems irrational to avoid doing something they aren't comfortable doing. Pretend to be sick, conveniently forget about an appointment, ghost on an appointment, etc. They also have bad nervous ticks that can be self destructive I would chew on my knuckles until my skin was raw and practically bleeding. But like I said we live right now in a world where the first example of butterflies in our stomach is seen as anxiety instead of just feeling nervous. No one likes giving a public speech or performing in front of people but it's hardly an anxiety disorder. If it where everyone in the world would be taking medications for it which they obviously aren't. Does anxiety hit people differently? Yea. one thing i don't understand, how is having a good group a bad thing? never played FF14 but i played many MMO's, and raids were a guild thing with pre-set groups and for bigger raids we just took some LFG people if we needed. i would never do full LFG raid of 15 and more people :D

    • @SephonDK
      @SephonDK 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's basically people mad that they didn't get the group, feeling they're losing out. Which is ridiculous as FF14 has enough players (helpful, even) that it's not a zero sum game. They should just grow the fuck up

    • @clonosfreid6658
      @clonosfreid6658 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SephonDK You're asking a lot for the general audience of the game to grow up, you know. :)
      You're also absolutely right, there are SO many Discords, forums and the like to help people out with their clears, I'm super amazed that people HAVEN'T cleared it yet. I keep hearing that DRS is supposed to be one of the harder contents of the game and I've ran with 3 fresh groups that can almost clear it within a week.
      Anxiety? The people helping out don't even require you to talk and don't ridicule you for any mistakes.

    I honestly don't get why so many people are mad, like you see people crying about "streamer privilege" it's like yes, he does have a privilege that most of us don't but it's not like he just instantly became a streamer and was automatically good, he worked hard to become a streamer that people want to watch, if I started streaming tomorrow I ain't suddenly going to have this magical privilege that some people seem to think streamers get automatically. I get the feeling these kinds of people are the type who cry that streamers have a completely different MSQ experience because they have built a fanbase who want to interact with them and thus their MSQ experience doesn't count (yes I have talked to a few people like this and it's like arguing with a brick wall)

  • @Roseles89
    @Roseles89 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why can't people mind their own? So what .. someone you'll never meet cleared something and you didn't. Get off your bum and get a grp if it bothers you that much. Heck I'd love to clear everything in the game. But my FC isn't into anything really above savage and most of us don't have the free time to put in more than a day or two a week.
    (Also being on Crystal so not like anyone over here is super hard core anyway).
    Sure being a streamer makes it easier to get a group together I'm sure.. At the same time I'm sure not all of those players they group with or end up grouped with are all star players either. Go out and do something in the community if you want the 'ease' that comes with the fame. /shrug

    It is totally stupid to talk shit about streamers clearing an ultimate. However i see why some people would dislike it. Obviously I don’t know much about the game since i have been playing only for two months, but finding people who you can play with is hard tbh. So i can see why people would be mad if a streamer would clear in 4 days. It is stupid to talk shit about them. But i can see why.

No. I understand that a lot of ppl are mad because you need a lot of time and luck until you found the rigth players and you waist a lot of time but there is no point to be mad there are a lot ppl who for examble bouth there kills and you coud say im mad because they have money. So the point is its dont change an anything how Person xy got his kills, do you thing have fun with the game and ignore it if you get mad dont watch it.

    Truth is, Ultimate isn't as hard as it used to be, despite the level sync, 510 food doesn't have a cap so we can worry about mechanics more than perfect damage. If you're fine with mechanics and teamwork you can do it! There are plenty of practice statics allowing any PUG to join these days on many servers, being a streamer changes nothing for our community, clearing savage is proof enough they are ready.

    Idk why are people mad at Rich until now. As a viewer I'm happy that he cleared UCoB. Rich bought a class boost for Mechanist, just to experience boosting. Most of the chat don't agree but, majority of the chat agreed since it's his alt job. Rich told the chat since, there is a new game+ he will read the dialogues of the job class. He planned either to use Summoner or Mechanist but, he chose the latter. Originally (if people forgot) the overall party was 6 clear players & 2 new which is Rich, and Gremlo, but Gremlo had an electricity problem on the 1st day at around 10 to 11hr mark iirc so, they switched Gremlo to Sfia at the 2nd day of prog. I want to see both Rich and Gremlo prog TEA soon

    They did it for more views (Rin and happy) and all the smaller streamers suck up to the bigger ones to grow their own stream but yea it is what it is get over it lol Rich is SUPER fun to batch but the fact of the matter is they called out so much I could do this fight blind if I had someone like that doing call-outs.

    • @clonosfreid6658
      @clonosfreid6658 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You'd be surprised at how many people can't do even DRS blind with all the mechanics explained and callouts to absolutely everything. If you can do it, I don't think that absolutely everyone else can.
      Either way, it's content and he enjoyed it. He's praising the game for it. Why is it leaving any bad taste in anyone's mouths when it's good publicity for the game?
      Xeno has a point of the average player not being good and that can be daunting when it comes to these types of raids, but I think people also forget the fact that Rich, Asmon, etc. all play games--especially MMO's like WoW, which FFXIV is based off of--for a living. I'm sure that skill does translate over.

    Asmon, Rich and all these famous Wow players are bringing life back to 14 imo. every1 knows these months leading up to new xpansion is downtime for us whre no1 is doing anything. but now u see Twitch streams are popular, ppl are doing more on the dead contents like potd/old raids and their streams are mostly entertaining.

  • @skytal882
    @skytal882 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    All this means is the debate of which game is harder is over. Rich was a giga casual, sucked ass and was way below average in WoW skillwise. He cleared 1 of the 3 hardest Raids in FFXIV so if someone as trash as him can clear the hardest content the game has to offer then the game does not offer any difficult content. If you end up saying he got carried then that is a whole different thing but if anyone says he cleared it because he is a good player they either admit the game is easy or are in absolute denial of him being carried if Ultimate raids are hard.

    I do think Rich got semi-carried. Mostly due to the sheer number of callouts he got mid fight. But on the other hand, doesn't mean he didn't do well, doing prog fully blind would be some dogshit content. And most importantly, IT DOESN"T MATTER.
