as a drama main, the most satisfying part of my day was opening TH-cam to this.
I genuinely wish my life was so pleasant that watching someone else build a house in a video game upset me to the point of crying. I fucking wish my life was that fucking good.
People have too much free time on their hand that they got to create drama out of nothing just to make their mundane life more interesting.
Not even in a game, it's completely separate software. It must be nice to be that carefree.

@Gathoderiz you can. They made a change I think in early shadowbringers where they added like a "recipe tree" so you can see all the materials you need.

@@trimack The recipe tree thing is very good yeah, but i was thinking more about figuring out the stats you need for items, the spells to use etc.. The timers of certains ressources not displayed in game for some reason ???
@Gathoderiz oh yeah all that extra shit nah lmao. Iirc timers for nodes are in the gathering log but they don't count down so you gotta figure that out yourself. And nodes will till you how much of a Stat you need but if you don't meet that you waste the timed node. What we have is the bare bones minimum in game.

the funny thing is, the chat and Xeno were all just enjoying a little standalone fun housing nonsense, but it's THIS TWITTER PERSON that drew attention to the fact that there's a plugin that can can basically push all your designs to in-game (with a lot of restrictions). No one even knew or cared about the TPP plugin and would've likely remained that way had that person just gone about their business, but ironically now THEIR malding has exposed something that wasn't even being brought up before. It also kinda seems like a very quick enrage kind of reaction, which makes me think they were using the plugin lol

It's always a case of "the lady doth protest too much." Anyone who is going well out of their way to vocally hate something on twitter is likely guilty of something similar. It happens with plugins in XIV (meanwhile secretly using said plugins themselves), it happens with people buying Hogwarts legacy or whatever (meanwhile funding far worse shit like Apple products), it happens with people getting mad about loli characters in games/anime/manga (then being exposed as actual pedophile groomers), etc. Never trust virtue signaling, it's almost always used as a smokescreen.
Eh not really. The vast majority of 'housing enthusiasts' on PC absolutely use MakePlace and/or BDTH.

Cause they feel like they are "keeping the community clean and great" which in their warped sense of reality gives FF14 a good reputation. Which it doesn't.

I have been playing this game since 4.3 (so mid SB, was early 2018 if memory serves me right) and holy shit i've come across some drama across the years... but these days it's just unreal. It's like people these days project their entire life unto a game. I have noticed it became increasingly more popular as ffxiv gained momentum, especially with streamers.
@@davidepannone6021 yeah, its unfortunate. FFXIV should had never gained the playerbase it got during ShB, because before that the community was amazing. You could even openly talk about parses and shit in a savage group and nobody started bitching. Also the shit tier drama like this or the chair was non-existent.

I am so glad I managed to make a core group of friends before all that which i still play the game with to this day. I probably wouldn't have stuck around for as long as I did if i started to play during endwalker. I wouldn't have had the patience to deal with the average FFXIV player of nowadays.

Honestly I don't even blame someone for using plugins for housing, because of the fact that you need to exploit glitches to do fucking _anything_ creative and it's tedious as all hell.
Yup. As a housing designer I tell people this all the time. I don't ever blame ppl for using TPP for housing bc the entire housing interface is just awful and they have no plans to remedy it.

EDIT - holy shit this seems amazing for me. I saw the website, my biggest problem outside of glitching is the amount of housing items available. that I can see the shopping list for someone's house is absolutely amazing. Holy crap.

It kinda worries me that so many of them seem to think of themselves as so creatively bankrupt that the only thing they are proud of is the amount of time they are willing to waste on doing incredibly tedious glitches. I've done a ton of houses since the housing system was added to the game all the way back in ARR, and always prided myself in my ideas, because that's the actual creative work behind it.
Now, after all these years, the last two houses I did lately were done using the BDTH plug-in, and it rekindled my waning love for housing, because as found glitches grew more and more elaborate through the years, it became expected of everyone in the housing community to use them, yet there's no fun in just sitting there for two weeks doing the most braindead activity ever (most of the floating stuff). I ended up still spending 2 weeks on each house anyways, but to actually add to the design and think up even better ideas if I wasn't entirely happy with the previous one, something I've never had the energy to even bother with after wasting so much time on making something through tedious means. Turns out, you make better stuff when you aren't weighed down by the hesitation you'd feel towards having to tear down the thing you just spent a week glitching into place to build something better in its place...🙃

Literally nothing. It's all content creator farming because they have depleted all in game content and have to farm drama to stay relevant. I mean that in the nicest way possible, they just don't have anything of substance to stream about right now so they all blow everything up. None of this would even matter if people were busy with something else.
"Housing Mains" are honestly one of the most obnoxious player base in the game. I've literally had one of them wait for me at my house to harass me to change my garden around and walls, because they thought it was ugly and ruining their house which is across from it.
On top of this they wanted me to unlock the front door so they could critique and offer my an amount to fix it.
I've never blacklisted someone so quickly in this game.

The "job" of a good interior decorator has always been to bring their ideas to life, understand the wants and needs of their client, and so on. They should rejoice at having better tools available to do their job, not act as if this is gonna ruin them.

I know we were joking on stream but housing people unironically get upset about this? Literally the majority of housing mains use unironic cheats to design their house. This tool is exactly what you would want and it doesn't even break the rules
I'm a housing main and I don't mind people using this stuff. Heck, other decorators use this as well. But decorators like us is shunned by the "true" housing mains who uses the old school meta (stage panel and lofts).

I love MakePlace. Gives me a way to make a shopping list of items for a build and KNOW exactly what I need, how much I need and how much gil I am going to pour into it. Same goes for the folks I do decorating services for so they are not wasting more gil. It's a BLESSING!
Despite people knowing about MakePlace, some feel they aren't creative enough or have enough time, they still may hire a decorator to do this for them so they can have their ideal housing space they've always wanted.

It's the best! I've designed many homes for myself and others through Makeplace and saved a shit ton of time and gil doing so. There's no way you'll catch me spending hours or days manually floating shit when there's a plugin right there that does it in literal seconds.
Yep yep! Makeplace is god sent to decorators. It ensures faster services too so you wont have to stare at the room for hours just thinking of what would work and how to start.
They just don't want to admit they use the plugin that interfaces with the program to import their designs

That's not necessarily the reason. I know it sounds suspicious, but it's genuinely a fact that the server becomes really messy when several people are inside the house while you move furniture, especially glitching stuff. I recently redesigned our FC house and my friends wanted to cheer me on when I had a minor mental breakdown after trying to get something to work for 16 hours and still failing, but as soon as they showed up, even the stuff that did work and had been fine for hours started breaking, until I eventually had to kick them all out despite their kind intentions, because their presence fucked with the server too much. The housing system is a fucking mess.

Yo that add for True Classic shirts was hilarious. More on topic, if you run into any housing item at a perfectly straight angle, so that you're character isn't sliding in either direction just running in place, you will eventually phase through it. This is especially easy if you can just angle into a corner while running into the item you're trying to phase through.

The "problem" is that this person thinks they're gonna lose business by people knowing about MakePlace, because obviously a house designer's only value is their ability to glitch/float furniture and not actually their creative vision 🙃
As a housing guy myself (not a main, just love doing it and do commissions for Gil), keep using and streaming the tool and keep enjoying housing. My little gil business will be fine lol.

So the person that got inside the cage, ran at the housing item until the collisions broke and let them in. This is a common feature of housing. If it isn't a base wall of the house, you can do that with anything in the house. Just run at it til it lets you move through it.

I've talked to designers about designing my large house and both wanted 50 million, the arguement was that your paying for the guys work and time, but this? THIS just blew that arguement out the window.

The decorator then sells the designs, sometimes the exact same desiign, for faster sales so they can handle more clients at once and not keep anyone waiting for a design.

I love that tool. It’s great. I encourage everyone to use it, if you don’t want to risk using the plugin, you can at least test different designs out without actually having to buy/own all of the pieces to place in your house!
People need to stop putting themselves on pedestals and thinking they’re special. As someone who’s put many hours into housing, for myself and for friends, there’s no way in hell any “enthusiast” or designer, does not use this tool. It’s too efficient. If more people used this tool, maybe my neighbour’s houses would stop looking so barren, like they’re too busy cooking drugs in their basement to go outside and plant some damn flowers.
