And nodes will till you how much of a Stat you need but if you don't meet that you waste the timed node. What we have is the bare bones minimum in game.

It kinda worries me that so many of them seem to think of themselves as so creatively bankrupt that the only thing they are proud of is the amount of time they are willing to waste on doing incredibly tedious glitches. I've done a ton of houses since the housing system was added to the game all the way back in ARR, and always prided myself in my ideas, because that's the actual creative work behind it. Now, after all these years, the last two houses I did lately were done using the BDTH plug-in, and it rekindled my waning love for housing, because as found glitches grew more and more elaborate through the years, it became expected of everyone in the housing community to use them, yet there's no fun in just sitting there for two weeks doing the most braindead activity ever (most of the floating stuff). I ended up still spending 2 weeks on each house anyways, but to actually add to the design and think up even better ideas if I wasn't entirely happy with the previous one, something I've never had the energy to even bother with after wasting so much time on making something through tedious means. Turns out, you make better stuff when you aren't weighed down by the hesitation you'd feel towards having to tear down the thing you just spent a week glitching into place to build something better in its place...🙃

"Housing Mains" are honestly one of the most obnoxious player base in the game. I've literally had one of them wait for me at my house to harass me to change my garden around and walls, because they thought it was ugly and ruining their house which is across from it. On top of this they wanted me to unlock the front door so they could critique and offer my an amount to fix it. I've never blacklisted someone so quickly in this game.

Literally nothing. It's all content creator farming because they have depleted all in game content and have to farm drama to stay relevant. I'm a housing main and I don't mind people using this stuff. Heck, other decorators use this as well. But decorators like us is shunned by the "true" housing mains who uses the old school meta (stage panel and lofts).

I love MakePlace. Gives me a way to make a shopping list of items for a build and KNOW exactly what I need, how much I need and how much gil I am going to pour into it. Same goes for the folks I do decorating services for so they are not wasting more gil. It's a BLESSING! Despite people knowing about MakePlace, some feel they aren't creative enough or have enough time, they still may hire a decorator to do this for them so they can have their ideal housing space they've always wanted.
It's the best! I've designed many homes for myself and others through Makeplace and saved a shit ton of time and gil doing so. There's no way you'll catch me spending hours or days manually floating shit when there's a plugin right there that does it in literal seconds.
Yep yep! Makeplace is god sent to decorators. It ensures faster services too so you wont have to stare at the room for hours just thinking of what would work and how to start.

2:10 Xeno, Discord *IS* a third party program. In fact, it is illegal if you don't disable the overlay, because that injects itself into the game (aka, meets the criteria of the "interacts with the game" clause). But if you don't use the overlay, Discord is 100% fine! Yes, their TOS is that stupid.

That's not necessarily the reason. I know it sounds suspicious, but it's genuinely a fact that the server becomes really messy when several people are inside the house while you move furniture, especially glitching stuff. I recently redesigned our FC house and my friends wanted to cheer me on when I had a minor mental breakdown after trying to get something to work for 16 hours and still failing, but as soon as they showed up, even the stuff that did work and had been fine for hours started breaking, until I eventually had to kick them all out despite their kind intentions, because their presence fucked with the server too much. The housing system is a fucking mess.
The never-ending first world problems within the FFXIV community. Once a small community that'd act like this is now a literal cesspool with something new to cry about everyday

So the person that got inside the cage, ran at the housing item until the collisions broke and let them in. This is a common feature of housing. If it isn't a base wall of the house, you can do that with anything in the house. Just run at it til it lets you move through it.

I've talked to designers about designing my large house and both wanted 50 million, the arguement was that your paying for the guys work and time, but this? THIS just blew that arguement out the window.
I think it's simply a case of people being so indoctrinated by "3rd party bad" that they immediately jump at anything that remotely looks like XIV but isn't an official ingame feature. It's gotten to the point where they can't even tell the difference between tools that actually modify the game and standalone programs.

People only care cause it's like selling carries. It's about the money rather than the third party tool. Decorators use the plugin to mass sell presets they create for irl money and overcharge for it to unsuspecting clients. The decorator then sells the designs, sometimes the exact same desiign, for faster sales so they can handle more clients at once and not keep anyone waiting for a design.
The "problem" is that this person thinks they're gonna lose business by people knowing about MakePlace, because obviously a house designer's only value is their ability to glitch/float furniture and not actually their creative vision 🙃 As a housing guy myself (not a main, just love doing it and do commissions for Gil), keep using and streaming the tool and keep enjoying housing. My little gil business will be fine lol.
I love that tool. It’s great. I encourage everyone to use it, if you don’t want to risk using the plugin, you can at least test different designs out without actually having to buy/own all of the pieces to place in your house! People need to stop putting themselves on pedestals and thinking they’re special. As someone who’s put many hours into housing, for myself and for friends, there’s no way in hell any “enthusiast” or designer, does not use this tool. It’s too efficient. If more people used this tool, maybe my neighbour’s houses would stop looking so barren, like they’re too busy cooking drugs in their basement to go outside and plant some damn flowers.

Yo that add for True Classic shirts was hilarious. More on topic, if you run into any housing item at a perfectly straight angle, so that you're character isn't sliding in either direction just running in place, you will eventually phase through it. This is especially easy if you can just angle into a corner while running into the item you're trying to phase through.
The reason Square Enix defines "Third Party" the way they do is legal. They can reasonably control what you do with their game. If someone outside of Square Enix (a third party) creates some software that can interact with their software, even just to click for you, they can respond in a legal way to make that person stop. However, if someone creates a simulator that doesn't interact with their software in anyway, they literally can do nothing. Now, with something like the house decorating simulator, even if you never use the function, the fact that the program CAN interface with the game makes it third party by default. Think of it like this, if you have a program that lets you view game models offline, but also lets you zoom hack, even if you only view game models with it, it would still be detected by anti-cheat as a zoom hack.
I started playing FFxiv at the very end of stormblood and stopped up to the patch of paladins rework, and I haven't been happier. I've never had a game in my 12 years of gaming suck so much life out of me, then FF did in 4 years, and a majority of it was because of the community. So I'm happy to see more of the real side of FF start to show cause let me tell you this shit isn't all sunshine and rainbows. I've seen so much manipulation, lies, and threats that it's not even funny, all because of a FUCKING VIDEO GAME. SMH.

It doesn't stop cheaters from cheating in PvP. Doesn't even stop people from selling mods. It's more of a headache for the GMs and the community than a help. Because people try so hard to be "good" and "wholesome" that they don't realize how toxic they truly are. All the drama I have seen besides the chair stuff or obvious cheaters that SHOULD be banned has been stuff regarding what's right or wrong by standards of ToS. You use modded gposes, people mald. You use a website and not even upload it to the game, malding. Adjust some hairstyles in game cause a majority of the vanilla game hairstyles are 100% crappy? Malding. It's like legalizing weed. It kinda worries me that so many of them seem to think of themselves as so creatively bankrupt that the only thing they are proud of is the amount of time they are willing to waste on doing incredibly tedious glitches. I've done a ton of houses since the housing system was added to the game all the way back in ARR, and always prided myself in my ideas, because that's the actual creative work behind it.
Now, after all these years, the last two houses I did lately were done using the BDTH plug-in, and it rekindled my waning love for housing, because as found glitches grew more and more elaborate through the years, it became expected of everyone in the housing community to use them, yet there's no fun in just sitting there for two weeks doing the most braindead activity ever (most of the floating stuff). I ended up still spending 2 weeks on each house anyways, but to actually add to the design and think up even better ideas if I wasn't entirely happy with the previous one, something I've never had the energy to even bother with after wasting so much time on making something through tedious means. Turns out, you make better stuff when you aren't weighed down by the hesitation you'd feel towards having to tear down the thing you just spent a week glitching into place to build something better in its place...🙃

"Housing Mains" are honestly one of the most obnoxious player base in the game. I've literally had one of them wait for me at my house to harass me to change my garden around and walls, because they thought it was ugly and ruining their house which is across from it.
On top of this they wanted me to unlock the front door so they could critique and offer my an amount to fix it.
I've never blacklisted someone so quickly in this game.

I'm a housing main and I don't mind people using this stuff. Heck, other decorators use this as well. But decorators like us is shunned by the "true" housing mains who uses the old school meta (stage panel and lofts).

I love MakePlace. Gives me a way to make a shopping list of items for a build and KNOW exactly what I need, how much I need and how much gil I am going to pour into it. Same goes for the folks I do decorating services for so they are not wasting more gil. It's a BLESSING!

It's the best! I've designed many homes for myself and others through Makeplace and saved a shit ton of time and gil doing so. There's no way you'll catch me spending hours or days manually floating shit when there's a plugin right there that does it in literal seconds.
Yep yep! Makeplace is god sent to decorators. It ensures faster services too so you wont have to stare at the room for hours just thinking of what would work and how to start.

That's not necessarily the reason. I know it sounds suspicious, but it's genuinely a fact that the server becomes really messy when several people are inside the house while you move furniture, especially glitching stuff. I recently redesigned our FC house and my friends wanted to cheer me on when I had a minor mental breakdown after trying to get something to work for 16 hours and still failing, but as soon as they showed up, even the stuff that did work and had been fine for hours started breaking, until I eventually had to kick them all out despite their kind intentions, because their presence fucked with the server too much. The housing system is a fucking mess.

So the person that got inside the cage, ran at the housing item until the collisions broke and let them in. This is a common feature of housing. If it isn't a base wall of the house, you can do that with anything in the house. Just run at it til it lets you move through it.

I've talked to designers about designing my large house and both wanted 50 million, the arguement was that your paying for the guys work and time, but this? THIS just blew that arguement out the window.

I think it's simply a case of people being so indoctrinated by "3rd party bad" that they immediately jump at anything that remotely looks like XIV but isn't an official ingame feature.
It's gotten to the point where they can't even tell the difference between tools that actually modify the game and standalone programs.
Ngl something that I never understood is getting a House in FF and then have someone else decorate it. Like, decorating your house is literally the most fun of it, why pay someone else to do this? Am I just too old to understand? :'D
People only care cause it's like selling carries. It's about the money rather than the third party tool. Decorators use the plugin to mass sell presets they create for irl money and overcharge for it to unsuspecting clients. The decorator then sells the designs, sometimes the exact same desiign, for faster sales so they can handle more clients at once and not keep anyone waiting for a design.

The "problem" is that this person thinks they're gonna lose business by people knowing about MakePlace, because obviously a house designer's only value is their ability to glitch/float furniture and not actually their creative vision 🙃

As someone who’s put many hours into housing, for myself and for friends, there’s no way in hell any “enthusiast” or designer, does not use this tool. It’s too efficient. If more people used this tool, maybe my neighbour’s houses would stop looking so barren, like they’re too busy cooking drugs in their basement to go outside and plant some damn flowers.

More on topic, if you run into any housing item at a perfectly straight angle, so that you're character isn't sliding in either direction just running in place, you will eventually phase through it. This is especially easy if you can just angle into a corner while running into the item you're trying to phase through.

The reason Square Enix defines "Third Party" the way they do is legal. They can reasonably control what you do with their game. If someone outside of Square Enix (a third party) creates some software that can interact with their software, even just to click for you, they can respond in a legal way to make that person stop. However, if someone creates a simulator that doesn't interact with their software in anyway, they literally can do nothing.
Now, with something like the house decorating simulator, even if you never use the function, the fact that the program CAN interface with the game makes it third party by default. Think of it like this, if you have a program that lets you view game models offline, but also lets you zoom hack, even if you only view game models with it, it would still be detected by anti-cheat as a zoom hack.
I started playing FFxiv at the very end of stormblood and stopped up to the patch of paladins rework, and I haven't been happier. I've never had a game in my 12 years of gaming suck so much life out of me, then FF did in 4 years, and a majority of it was because of the community. So I'm happy to see more of the real side of FF start to show cause let me tell you this shit isn't all sunshine and rainbows. I've seen so much manipulation, lies, and threats that it's not even funny, all because of a FUCKING VIDEO GAME. SMH.
This is like crying that a builder uses an architect or a blueprint before starting to build so they know how much of what resources they will need to begin a build. The ONLY reason someone would be upset is if they themselves use it in ways that are exploiting it ingame, and they want it shutdown. Gaslighting on twotter pretending you are "sad" ect. when really you are just being toxic and trying to hurt someone. "Im so sad" just translates to "I am so angry and I want this person attacked, but i will pretend I am a really nice person that doesn't care as much as I do"
Barring the "housing mains" who are malding because they feel like their secret weapon to milking gil from other players, lazy or just strapped for time, will be lost ... the community are indeed sheep. YoshiP should just permit addons/mods at this point. Modding against ToS doesn't stop anyone from making mods. Whether they are NSFW or not. It doesn't halt RMT. It doesn't stop cheaters from cheating in PvP. Doesn't even stop people from selling mods. It's more of a headache for the GMs and the community than a help. Because people try so hard to be "good" and "wholesome" that they don't realize how toxic they truly are.
All the drama I have seen besides the chair stuff or obvious cheaters that SHOULD be banned has been stuff regarding what's right or wrong by standards of ToS. You use modded gposes, people mald. You use a website and not even upload it to the game, malding. Adjust some hairstyles in game cause a majority of the vanilla game hairstyles are 100% crappy? Malding. It's like legalizing weed. You legalize mods, and now all the problems are just lack of content and people actually exploiting the game to gain an advantage. Just like legalizing weed would cut costs on the prison system.
