I've been watching this channel for a few years now. When I think of the term "engine nerd", Andrae comes to mind. I mean that with the highest possible respect.
carefully explained and good to understand. showing your cursor and marking the spots of interest is a dream. You helped me a lot to get that thing running. Thank you!
This is awesome. I just got my emu black a few days ago. Still have to get it all wired up but this was great. Excellent video and will def be referencing it
haha that Bjorn guy, always with the questions eh! It's great when you have them mate, so many good ones sprinkled though the content from you in the videos, comments and forums etc too 😎 Thanks for mentioning that too, this one was prepped a while back and we did have some issues with the audio. It should have been picked up and fixed some time ago but fell through the cracks annoyingly. I'll decide if it's bad enough to have to take down or if the captions fill in that annoying blank enough to leave it up shortly and thanks again dude! - Taz.
would like to see you do a car on alpha n on throttle bodies as every vid on youtube seems to be turbo cars :) using map sensor etc very informative though thanks
We only cover this via a turbocharged example at this stage, might help you though: www.hpacademy.com/previous-webinars/163-tps-map-tuning-for-turbo-and-itb-alpha-n/? - Taz.
Hi Andre thanks so much for a brilliant video as always. Any chance you could share your tables Template which defines the layout of each of the tabs for tuning. I reckon that would be immensely helpful for those like myself who are a bit new to tuning 😊
…..i’m just trying to put a turbo on my 4.0 6cylinder tj jeep wrangler and the tuning shop near me has me looking up ecu masters, 62-67 vs racing and i’m BEYOND CONFUSED. You are very informative i just am not retaining any information bc i’m not aware of what you are even referring to 😂😂😂 i litterally just want to call a representative be told what to buy and take what i bought to a tune shop and they hook it up. i’m resorting to youtube bc the tune shops seemed pissed off me being completely clueless and telling them i was going to put a T04e turbo from ebay 💀😂. i’m serious about recommendations. i really am looking for a turbo and i guess whatever goes with it to make it run effectively without dropping crazy amounts of money. i was wanting 5-7 boost but every video i’m seeing shows a lot more boost in 4.0L 6 cylinders. PLEASE GOD HELP ME.
You can do that, call a different Ecumaster supplier, although at the same time that is what your tuner could and should do for you, advise you of what you need, what options you have (if any depending what they deal with) and go from there. It really is best to get the ECU from the person doing the tuning for you if you can, but there is no harm in getting some second opinions from other tuning shops too. We don't sell ECU's ourselves just to be clear, but this is our process for choosing one: www.hpacademy.com/previous-webinars/120-selecting-a-suitable-ecu-for-your-application/ - Taz.
The fundamental principles of tuning are the same for both of those platforms. You are just a bit more limited with the DET3 but it doesn't require completely different knowledge to work with that what we cover in our free lessons and paid course material - Taz.
That depends a little on what you are tuning. I put and MS3 Pro in my MX5 and I would choose it again over the Emu Black because it was a plug and play option for my model. That is just an example of why there is really no best ECU brand off the cuff without you taking a look at your own project and working out the pros and cons for yourself. Also remember to consider who is going to tune it, and if it's not you, that person should be in the conversation with you - Taz. www.hpacademy.com/technical-articles/which-standalone-ecu-is-the-best/
I don't believe so, but get in touch with them to check in case something is planned. Generally manufacturers offer a specific unit for a specific transmission rather than a generic transmission controller. At least in my experience 😁 With that in mind some search terms including your transmission model might be helpful for you to take the time to do - Taz.
We only used it in this vehicle in order to create content with the platform, same with the Haltech we use in the same STi. The best setup for this car with the mods it has, or rather doesn't have, is really just a reflash tune of the stock ECU. It doesn't need a standalone, we just need the standalone for our purposes 😎 We also use the car for ECU Flash content as well. With that in mind no one should ever copy someone elses setup without understanding why they are using what they are using as they might find that it isn't actually the best solution for them and their own application and budget etc - Taz.

What do you think about ms3pro vs emu black? Which it's better don't matter price
