    I stayed with Shotcut for1 reason.
    You had all the best Shotcut tutorials that were short and to the point.
    Made it very easy for me to learn how to use it.
    Thank you

    There are two important points in favor of Kdenlive. Shotcut does not have free masking (only squares and ovals) and it does not have automatic frame tracking. Puede ser que los traiga en próximas ediciones. Entonces igualará o Kdenlive.

      Well now it has free masking using glaxnimate, though what do you mean by automatic frame tracking, because that has always been there. When you move something and you hit the keyframes icon, automatically the motion (or whatever depending on the filter) is recorded.

    Also, Shotcut has recently updated to a new feature "Timeline marker" in v21.10.31 which was only available in Kdenlive before.

    I think kdenlive is the best, the display is very similar to premiere. But the text feature is very complicated

      Davinci Resolve

    • @onepercentile
      @onepercentile ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EJTech. On the Windows platform I'd choose Davinci Resolve hands down. However on the Linux platform Davinici Resolve doesn't support mp4 or any video codec using H.264 or H.265, which is means I can't use my cell phone videos directly with Davinci Resolve. Converting the files to a much larger counterpart for importing with DR takes up time and hard drive space, not to mention creates a cluster of duplicates. Once the project video is exported I have to convert it back to mp4 outside the program to share or post to TH-cam. Given this huge bottleneck with DR on Linux I began to try Shotcut as an alternative. While the workflow is alien to me mp4's drop right into the timeline like they do in DR for Windows. However I miss the DR workflow.
      If someone made a utility to do the heavy lifting on video format conversions with DR on Linux it wouldn't be such a harsh deal breaker for me.
      Given this huge Linux Davinci Resolve con, would you be interested to make a video from the Linux point of view in which you make recommendations to your audience on the best overall video editing solution? It would certainly be a challenge because you have to run Linux to get the true perspective on what would be the best video editor of choice.

    Hey EJ TECH! can you let me know if the Kdenlive lags so bad like the shotcut?

    • @EJTech.
      @EJTech.  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well most of the time the lag can depend on your computer specs. But what I saw from my own testing, Kdenlive seemed to have more lag than Shotcut. Hope that helps!

      If Shotcut doesn't work, the only one that comes to mind is the Olive video editor. However, I know that version 2 of Olive was beta so it may not be stable. But Olive version 1 gave me no problems at all.

    Cant believe my first thought was Davinci resolve when I switched to Linux. It was such a pain installed both of these. Odly enough I already like ShotCut more out of the 2. But still trying to understand the interfaces. Heck even the name sound more professional imo. Like what does Kden even mean(Im not bashing im just purely talking its name) lol ShotCut just sounds like a video editing software up there with Final Cut and Premiere Pro.

    I've started with shotcut and I'm looking into kdenlive or filmora. The reason that I'm looking into switching is not only because shotcut is jank/crashy software but now shotcut's UI text enlarged for no reason and the internet doesn't seem to have a solution or a simple solution for just shrinking the text.

      Shotcut has Proxy editing and 360 preview scale options ( that means you can edit your videos as a lower quality then export to the high quality) I have low specs laptop and it is for that reason that I'm even using shotcut!
