qhy i can't open files in kdenlive?
i love shotcut but i have 3 isues
#1 glitches
#2 you have to move one clip at a time
#3 color grading is not that great
Which one would you recommend for Raspberry Pi? I have both the pi400 and a pi4 ♡♡♡ please advise. I'm VERY new to internet videos!! As in, I have never edited a video before. First day.
Thanks for the favorable comparison! This year (2020) we added Preview Scaling and Proxy editing, which significantly improves preview speed and responsiveness and reduces memory usage. We have improved multi-threaded video process during preview a little, and that will be improved soon as well. To improve stability we removed the filters that use HTML5 components and provided more stable alternatives to them.
Thank you so much for everyone at the Shotcut team and community! This is an excellent video editor and I have made videos on the new Proxy Editing as well and did also notice the removal of HTML filters. I look forward to all the new updates and continue to make videos on this amazing tool for Creators. Thank You!
Question:
I am wanting to edit videos with a raspberry pi... what should I use?
Thank you!!♡♡♡
@@wild-radio7373 Well if you're using raspbian os, you should probably be able to download linux softwares, so try ShotCut.
Thank you for amazing app I really love it but I'm having trouble keeping it in one position whilst editing, I just want to stay on edit and not all over the place and can't get to edit from full screen...
Any help with be appreciated.
I'm 62yrs and love editing lol...Thanks in advance
Thanks to you people who make open source softwares so that we poor people can learn and use those professional softwares too.

if by chance if you use any open source software and it helps you consider dontating a little to them. even 5$ gets put into making the software better. obviously it's not necessary but it keeps the thing alive and makes it better.
Absolutely! I've talked about helping the Open Source community in the past and even did a video about it below for those who share the same passion.

Where does the money You donate to the devs Go?
@@GIGACHAD-qh1yi in development obviously. these devs may be working for free but they need to feed themselves and their families too. other than that it can even expand the project so that the software may get more updates and stay up to date. take blender for example which is very very popular and it gets donations from companies like google too. some companies like Nvidia even donate devs (obviously they want those devs to be able to add features compatible with Nvidia's own tech).
@@karanjoshi2662 I wish I was billionaire so that way I can donate more money then the big tech does
If I could find a good open source editor, I'm willing to drop $400 like I did for FCPX. So far, none of them match my needs.
My patience has been tested by shotcut. You cannot copy and paste multiple files, so looping a video made of many clips is a nightmare. Thanks for the great upload, everyones suggestions have given me a list of new editors to try out.
Sure thing and yup there's definitely things like Copy Paste, Grouping etc that are missing in Shotcut and hopefully these will be added in the future.
Thank you, I am a beginner making my final choice between OpenShot and ShotCut. I believe ShotCut is the winner! Davinci Resolve seems to be a little too complicated according to comments I've seen under some reviews of best free vid editors.
Sure thing glad this helped! It's great that we have so many options out there especially Free video editors.
WOW, it's a really practical review giving a good bacis insight, THANK YOU!
You're very welcome! I'm a pretty practical guy as you'll probably see in my 1,000+ videos. Enjoy!
I tried kdenlive when they 1st released, and wow have they improved it so much..I am well impressed
Yup agreed Bob it's come a long way and keeps getting better!
I use Kdenlive and will recommend it over the others. I use it to edit the videos for my 3D CAD channel.
💯
I think Shotcut is the best, but you'll quickly learn that video editors aren't at the stage where a free version can compete with a paid version of a product. Just now I had two two crashes and the "Export Frame" feature resulted in lower quality images than the video.
But Shotcut is great in many instances and will get you by in the meantime.
I think it really depends on your needs but I do agree that in general, the paid video editors are a better option especially for more professional work.
Davinci Resolve is free and is good for professional use, although it isn't open source. There's also other free ones like Hitfilm, which are still closed source.
Still it depends on your needs, and it's only a matter of time before open source gets more development and catch up.
i actually started learning video editing with shotcut but it kept crashing on both my laptop and windows desktop. so I switched to vsdc and its been good so far
Sweeet 👍
I prefer Kdenlive because the UI display looks good so my clients are more confident using my editing services
Kdenlive is still my go to Editor for most projects.
Openshot has always been OK for me. I'm no expert, as long as it doesn't crash - I'm none the wiser :)
I've used Kdenlive only for little editing. Do some editing in Kdenlive, then finish with Openshot.
Never used Shotcut - It sounds like that's going to have to change 🤔 Good review...!!!
These are all great options and if you like Openshot/Kdenlive, then you'll like Shotcut as well.
I have been using Kdnelive. My advise is save save save. Orherwise, it is ok.
Absolutely! And I would say saving frequently is great advice for any video editor 😁
Yesterday I lost a 10 minute video edit. I am never using that editing software again
@@alanbinuraj it was the kernel i was using plus i had limited ram and i was also using an older version of the software.Sooooooo kinda my fault. I use it as my main video editing app these days
Same with you I started with Openshot. I'm going to try ShotCut based on your video. Thanks!
💯
Clear & concise comparison! Thank you. We've had all kinds of problem with OpenShot stability. Do you know if the stability has improved with ShotCut?
You're most welcome 👍 The stability has improved but my projects are fairly simple so your experience might be different.
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand Started using on the last two videos & had only one crash, but it recovered on reopening. All seems good & much easier to use than OpenShot.
Greetings from Argentina!
Is your wallpaper a picture of "Laguna de los Tres
" near El Chalten, Argentina?
Great picture, and great video btw.
Argentina? Incredible 👍 I'm not sure where the Wallpaper location is from but thx to you I've now learned something new.
I tried to do a simple montage of my holidays with Openshot (video, some musics and a few subtitles). I faced a lot of issues (crahes, bugs) but with some help in forums i finally made a cool 30 minutes montage with a nice F.R.I.E.N.D.S like intro. Every time I tried to export it crashed at about 20% I tried to modify what was in the timeline at that spot, looked for help on the internet and basically found that there is this issue and no one knows how to solve it. I lost days of work and could only watch the montage with my friend on the software itself with the preview function.
I'm know hesitating between Shotcut and Kdenlive so thank you for your video !
Sure thing and I;m glad we do have options when it comes to free video editors.
Kdenlive is the best of all. Proxy setting had been here long before its competitors added it. It has tons of features. It runs on any spec of PC. Stable and Easy to use. (Indonesia)
Kdenlive is definitely an excellent video editor that keeps getting better!
I originally used Cyberlink PowerDirector 9, which I loved, but found out it was slow compared to others and it crashed A LOT. So I changed to Shotcut 2 years ago. HUGE improvement, has never crashed doing the same stuff I did with PowerDirector. Absolutely recommending Shotcut.
Awesome glad you're enjoying Shotcut!
Question Shotcut or kendlive or openshot which one has more filters and effects?
Hmmm I'd probably say Shotcut.
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand thx
You were right about it being more stable in future versions.
Now, Shotcut is more stable than KDEnlive. KDEnlive used to crash so much for me. Ridiculously so as in more than half the time. I've yet to have Shotcut crash on me. I started using Shotcut in 2022.
Yup keeps getting better 😁
You re the hardest working man in the biz! Bravo!!
Thx much Condo for support!
I use Davinci resolve for heavy duty video editing, but I use Kdenlive to add music to my videos. I might have to checkout shotcut.
Yup great to have options and I think you'll really enjoy using Shotcut if you liked Kdenlive.
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand stupid question to ask. Between Kdenlive and Shotcut which program has less crashes and somewhat fast rendering?
@@IMZ44 i have heard that shotcut crashes a lot but I have never had problems
@@IMZ44 shotcut
Thanks for a good review. Will download and start using Shotcut thanks to your review!
I tried using Blender about two years ago, but it was very slow (on my very slow computer) and the export/render process of the videos was horrible. The quality was terrible and I couldn't for the life of me get it to look even decent.
As a tip for future videos: Maybe compare how well the editing programs run on a slow computer. Set up a virtual machine and limit the resources to simulate a slow machine. Could be fun. :)
Anyway, thanks for a great video.
Thx for watching and the ideas! There's so many machine configs even with a virtual machine but in general throughout the years, I've noticed that the Opens Source video editors typically perform well for simpler projects but suffer in performance on more complex projects (more clips, effects, sounds, etc...)
Thank you for this comparison and all your tutorials.
You're welcome and glad they helped you!
Nice comparison, thanks. I’ve been using kdenlive for a while now and loving it. So much control. I’d love to hear your thoughts on Olive sometime. It seems to be similar to davinci resolve and even though it’s still in Alpha, it seems quite stable and impressive.
You're very welcome! Unfortunately Olive isn't something I use and there's many video editors out there that I'm not familiar with.
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand thanks anyway. I might check out shotcut sometime out of curiosity. I doubt I’d switch though, the shortcuts and workflow of kdenlive are in my muscle memory now.
👍
The audio crackles and pops in kdenlive in preview, and Olive has the same ugly black interface that davinci does
Thank you for helping me pick a free editor. I used Adobe on Mac for video editing in the past. However, I have a Windows at the moment and will get another Mac when I can. 😊
Sure thing and I'd also highly recommend trying out the free version of Davinci Resolve since you've used Adobe.

Sure thing Mike 👍
Thanks for this. My 10 year old son wants to get in to video editing, and I've been looking for something to get him started with.
Sure thing Rich glad this helped your kids learn video editing!
People used to deride Windows Movie Maker as a bad editor. It wasn't great, but it was free and at least functional. Then Microsoft took that program for Windows 10, called it ClipChamp and put most everything behind a paywall. They then said "no, you silly pleb, you can't buy anything! We're going to RENT those features to you!" It's good to know that there are people out there who are kind enough to make a functional editor that will encourage me to donate to their project for its functionality as opposed to making me grit my teeth over greedy licensing practices.
Thanks for providing some options. I don't even have to change operating systems, either. And for the 'Nix evangelicals, if I could make the move to a REAL OS that would be great, I just don't have the time and the patience anymore to get everything running through Arch or Debian.
Yeah I know right Movie Maker did provide a door to video editing for many and it's a shame it turned into something worse 😭
shortcut is a great beginner video editor but I've experienced lots of bugs with chroma keys and video layers but overall i think its an alright editing software
Yup do agree this is a great beginner video editor even with it's bugs😁
Shotcut cut doesnt work on my windows 11. Specs of the pc Intel i5 10th gen, 8gb RAM. Openshot, on the other hand, runs smoothly. Any idea of a solution?
@@EduardoMusasa yeah, dont change.
Shotcut without very many compromises. i wish there was clarification on this. super curious.
Looks like you found my other Shotcut video on compromises.
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand yep hahah XD
I love Kdenlive, it is super buggy using windows but great with Linux. I wonder if shot cut is optimised for windows? Currently I'm using the free version of resolve. It would be nice to have 10 bit colour again.
Not sure myself for Windows but at least it's Free to use and try.
thanks man ive been looking for a video editor but there were so many choices i couldn't decide but now now i think i will choose shotcut because im new to editing oh and also all of these are available on linux so thats nice too
You're very welcome and I'm so glad we have all these great Free video editors especially in Linux 🐧
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand ikr i cant wait for more stuff getting support for linux or new things getting support for linux off the bat
Thank you. You helped me decide. Since price obviously isn't an issue (all free), and I'm pretty much a newbie (used Win Movie Maker a while back), I was looking for easy to learn for youtube video making. I was leaning toward Openshot for easiness, but yours was the only comparison to mention that shotcut is better for slower machines - I have a 3 year old laptop, so that suddenly became very important. Thanks. Liked and subscribed because your comparison was the best I have seen.
Thx much Mel glad this comparison helped you and I got my start on Win Movie Maker as well 😁
I currently use Openshot for editing video, but I don't like having to use Blender or Inkscape to complete my editing tasks. I find the requirement to use additional tools a little annoying. I tried Kdenlive in the past, but found it was extremely confusing. As a programmer, I prefer programs that were written with the end user in mind. I'm going to view your Shotcut tutorials and consider changing from Openshot to Shotcut. Thanksd for the informative videos.
Sure thing Roger and I do agree with the Blender/Inkscape setup but also understand that there's a lot of work to develop features so hopefully we'll get more integrated functionality in future versions.
Shotcut cut doesnt work on my windows 11. Specs of the pc Intel i5 10th gen, 8gb RAM. Openshot, on the other hand, runs smoothly. Any idea of a solution?
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand It does keep getting better. I wish I understood GUI programming and C++ a little better so I could work on a solution. Unfortunately my professional experience has been with batch processing and text I/O which makes it difficult for me to understand what I could adapt, and how to begin the process.
I appreciate this comparison! It has given me a lot of information to make a well informed choice about a good open source video editor! On to your tutorial playlists (after subscribing)....
Awesome glad this comparison helped!
great video! In your opinion, which is the best, olive or openshot for beginners?
Sure thing! For me, Openshot is better for complete newbies. Olive does have a higher learning curve and it reminds me more of Shotcut or Cinelera.
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand do you recommend SHOTCUT for beginners? What's your point of view?
The killer feature that keeps me on Kdenlive is the sync to audio. I'm really surprised that only Kdenlive has this feature, so far anyway.
Yup there's lots of great features and with each update, I feel Kdenlive is getting better overall.
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand The team are doing a fantastic job- the refactoring was a monster job and now they really are hitting their stride.
I've been using Kdenlive for over 15 years now, it's had some ups and downs- this is definitely an up time. :-D
💯
Hi Sir: I have a question for you. If I want to create a 10 minute long video in OPENSHOT, how may I set or adjust the timeline, so I can see all the minutes, until the 10th, where my video will end.? Kindly appreciate your answer. Thanks. Jose.
Kdenlive also presents big stability issues on my build. It often crashes on my pc when you least expect it. And the program layout is a bit chaotic, not really of my liking. Openshot on the other hand is super stable and always gets the job done. But as you pointed out it comes with limited features. So it's giving and taking in the end. I'd like to add a quick note that may help someone: if you already have photoshop on your pc, USE it for your videos!! Many people ignore that photoshop itself is also a pretty efficient video editor other then being an awesome image editing software. It's certainly far better than all the other programs mentioned in this video.
Great points! And I would agree on maximizing the tools that you already have.
I use shotcut and when i first download i never used it but I felt like i knew what i was doing which was shocking yet fun
Yup it's great and has gotten better over time.
This is a good video for anyone who wants to learn about open source video editing software.
I would, however, ask that you keep smacking sounds out.
Thanks for the tips!
Excellent review, just what I was looking for, thank you !
Glad this helped you!
Very nice and I am subscribed do you have any thoughts on hitfilm ? Any thoughts whatsoever mainly stability.
Thanks. Keith
Thx Keith! I've never used Hitfilm and for awhile now I've stuck with these video editors as it's what's worked best for me plus learning new editors takes time especially considering the many options available today.
Thank you for this video. It has been very helpful for my commercial projects.
Awesome really glad this helped you on your commercial projects!
So Kdenlive does not lag as much as OpenShot, is what I understood from this video. I am basically looking for something which is free, offers good effects and text options, and does not slow down my work by lagging or crashing, constantly. I am won't call myself a pro, but I ain't a beginner either. Which editor would you suggest?
At least for me, when I'm doing more complex projects, Shotcut seems to lag the least but it really depends especially if you're working with 4K and of course the hardware you're using. Since these are Free and everyone's setup is different, I'd recommend trying it out to see how they work for you.
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand Thanks !
Just the review I needed! 👍🏼
Awesome!
I have many issues with Openshot when I try to create titles through Inkscape. Inkscape does not respond to some commands and when transfer the title to Openshot, this one crash!
Yeah it definitely still has bugs especially with Inkscape or Blender whenever a new version of Openshot is released.
Does anyone of them offers "multi camera sequence" feature like adobe premiere ?
it helps:
1- Automatic sync of multiple videos based on audio
2- It helps make cuts in real time.
As far as I recall, Kdenlive does offer Multi-cam support although I don't know how this compares to Premiere or how good it is.
Thanks for the video, very good indeed. I've been using kdenlive, my first video ended up nice when previewed, however audio/video went out of sync after rendering.. already tried changing fps and formats but without success. Guess I'll try Shotcut out.
You're welcome! Wow that's odd that it went out of sync after render and I wonder if you experienced that consistently on all projects.
Shotcut rocks... When Davici Resolve seems too much for small work
Great that we have many great tools (especially free) available nowadays for any type of project.
Yeah surely it is the one of the best video editing software and easy to use
Thanks for sharing! This was just the info I was craving 🤤👍
Awesome Johnny glad this helped you out!
I am a beginner.
I would like to get a better understanding of how powerful or what the limits of this software are in order to determine
whether it is the right one for me.
So, could you drop the link of any professionally edited video in Shotcut, please?
Thank you so much. 😃😃😃
In simple terms, if you want to do video editing professionally in the future especially for job/business, then I'd recommend Adobe Premiere, Davinci Resolve, Apple Final Cut, etc...although these open source editors are great, it's not what's used in the professional industry.
In Shotcut, is it only one edit per project? Is there no bins function? I've been using Lightworks for a large project with a LOT of content pieces. Lightworks is a powerhouse as it allows you to create bins to organize your content and create complex edits which you can then use in other edits. The only thing is you need to pay for a license in order to export in 1080p and above. So I've been looking for an additional app for smaller projects. Shotcut seems usable, but it's only one edit per project? Can you not create different edits in one project and then combine them onto one master edit?
And you can't export just a section of an edit - i.e. you have to export a whole edit every time you want to check some small section?
It's definitely not comparable to something like a Lightworks, Davinci or Premiere when it comes to more complex projects.
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand I created a simple edit using Shotcut and I have to say - I really like it! It's easy to learn; it has a pleasant interface; and it works! I like the plethora of export options. But... It's definitely lacking in features. You can't even set in and out points on your edit timeline - a simple feature they should definitely add! And it's missing other more advanced features I'm used to having when working with Lightworks which really become a necessity when your edits grow in size and complexity. I think I'll just settle for Lightworks for now. They are running 50% sale until October 11.
Stability is more important to me if I was picking a video editor just my opinion . 0live seems interesting .However, What is the best video editor for a linux user (free or propriety ) ??
Davinci Resolve 😁
Which version were kdenlive and shotcut during the time of this recording by chance? Thanks for your breakdown.
I don't remember but there's definitely been updates to all the video editors since then however my overall thoughts are still the same.
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand indeed. I have already dabbled with openshot, but shotcut was the only option of the other 2 that had a mac download. I have windows as well. But each os is for its own workspace. Between the 2, I'm excited to build on the learning for the direction I've been steered. Thanks a million.
Thank you so much for the video! How would you compare these three to iMovie ? Thanks in advance for your time! :)
No problem! I think they compare favorably especially Shotcut but iMovie is an excellent, easy to use editor.
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand thank you so much for your suggestion :)
I am using openshot but there is problem..openshot crashing again n again..I use Windows 10 in my laptop..plz guide..
I use Openshot on Linux so not sure about overall stability on Windows 10.
Totally unreliable on windows 10
Which one is best for weak laptops?
Hmmm I'd say Shotcut overall.
I came to your channel because my Shotcut is unreliable and need to find alternatives. I love the software but it just doesn't always work and that's a costly exchange when I have a deadline I can't meet.
Completely understood and hopefully you find an alternative that works for your needs👍
If you use linux try Cinelerra-GG. It has an unusual workflow and a steep learning curve. But I think it is the richest and most powerful of the NLE open.
@@andreapaz641 Thanks for the suggestion!
which one of them have the feature to put an image and move the cam on the image from left to right or from top to down
If you're talking about Pan and Zoom, then you can do that on any of the video editors however it's easier to do in Shotcut, Kdenlive.
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand if Pan and Zoomis the way to move throw image then yes
Could you compare those pieces of software to CapCut for desktop
I don't use CapCut myself and only these 3 plus mostly Davinci Resolve.
What processors and memory do you have? Maybe too little memory? I enjoy using Shotcut. I haven't upgraded to the latest version. They might have some instability going on, not sure.
Intel Core I7 6700K and 32GB I also have a Linux PC Build Playlist on my channel with all my hardware.
Hey!! Which old version do you Use ...... I don't want to lost my editings if tge latest version persistently collides

Sure thing I don't use Lightworks so I don't have any useful feedback on that.
I like Olive.
I'll be trying it in the next few days
Another great choice.
my screen is black on olive how do i fix it
I have tried Shotcut and Openshot. Not bad. Though I downloaded Kdenlive, I couldn't load any video in my computer and gave up. I end up with Olive about a year ago and am still using it.
👍👍👍
I also think that Shotcut is a little bit better than Openshot. Despite of its not so often crashes
👍
Hey, I'm planning to move from Shotcut to Kdenlive, but I have a question. Does Kdenlive support Nearest neighbor interpolation?
Hmmm have no idea about that.
Sir iam unable to write text in my videos using openshot. Means text not visible in preview of title bar... Plz help....
Besides the text templates the rest is done in Inkscape.
With Shotcut on Linux, save regularly (Ctrl-S) and it will never crash.
👍👍👍
I tried kdenlive as my first editor and it kept crashing so I went with openshot. Fine for my skill level which isn't even rank amateur at this point. I heard about every other version of kdenlive works. I'll try it again if and when I outgrow openshot. 8GB of RAM and an i5 duo core isn't much to work with anyway.
It's great that we have these Free video editors to use for every skill level 👍
What about render times? I have found that openshot seems to render much faster than the other two (much faster). Most of the videos I deal with are at least an hour plus. Curious if this is something others have seen?
Really depends on the types/complexity of projects and hardware. But at least for me and the types of projects I work on, Kdenlive and Shotcut had better render times.
literally great comparision video. loved it
Glad you enjoyed it Raghvendra!
which is best for ur opinion?
Overall Shotcut.
so there is a difference between shot cut and open shot and does shot cut have a watermark and is open shot really free
They're all Free and Open Source with No Watermark or restrictions.
Shotcut works great for me. No crash or anything. I installed Kdenlive using snap on Ubuntu 20.04, it crashed for me.
Yup could work differently on a variety of machine configurations. At least for me it's been working fine.
What the best for editing/triming MKV videos
Not sure Ali as I rarely ever use MKV files/videos although when I did use these file types for my OBS recordings before, I did this in Kdenlive and had no issues.
am new to video editing. so which of the above to use first
If you've never used a Video Editor before, then Openshot is a good start but I'd say you might want to spend some time to learn Shotcut as you'll get more out of that quicker.
Thank you and am from india and am unable to access your website as well
Nice video, I have also made simple and easy tutorial on shotcut now I will surely look on others too. Thanks for making this video, very helpful, keep it up
Sure thing glad it helped and awesome you made a Shotcut tutorial 👍
Which One has the most features
Hmmm that's a tough one as it really depends on the features that you want and these video editors (especially Shotcut and Kdenlive) are constantly adding more features. But in general, at least right now, I'd say Kdenlive has the most features but Shotcut is overall a better combination of ease of use and features.
Openshot keeps crashing, audio distorted when video added!!
It's unfortunate you're having frequent crashes/issues with Openshot.
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand please suggest a reliable editor
There are many possible reasons why you're having stability issues as it works fine on mine. And since all these video editors are free, I recommend you try them out 👍

Pretty much the same for me in terms of thoughts on these editors.
which one is fastest in terms of exporting?
It depends on type of projects but at least for me, Kdenlive overall is the fastest.
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand if i would want to cut 10hour video into 3 pieces. Then speed it up like 3times and add some music which one would you recommand to with. Ivw got gtx1070.

I have a question for you can you show up how edl and XML file transfer also a workflow with davinci resolve to s Linux video editors and once great video channel 100%
Not sure as I haven't yet transferred between Davinci and other video editors.
I like Lightworks but I can't use all possibilities of this program in a free version. What video editor can you recommend? I use Linux. I tried to use DaVinci Resolve. It's not very good with my Manjaro Linux. Too much crashes. Maybe it's good with Windows.
Thanks for your review
Yup had issues with Davinci on Linux Mint although not surprising as it's really made for CentOS and Red Hat distros. I'd recommend trying Kdenlive or Shotcut - although I don't think they're at the Pro level of Lightworks.
Will ShotCut work on MacBook Air? Thanks 😊
It's available for Mac OS as well but not sure how well it'll run on MacBook Air but since it's free to download, you can always try it.
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand thanks Sir
do you have shotcut download link?
Head over to Shotcut website
Shotcut crashes when I drop 6-8 files in timeline but Kdenlive work smoothly.
Great to know thx! I haven't yet encountered that in Shotcut but maybe my projects are fairly simple.
Is shotcut hardware accelerated ?
There is a hardware encoder when you export but as far as I know, I don't see hardware acceleration while editing video or proxy features.
I have been using Kdenlive for a year now. No reason to change "yet" .🇿🇦
Kdenlive is awesome 👍
shotcut lags so bad tho id use kdenlive definitely and kdenlive is shotcut and openshot put together lol
👍
"shotcut lags so bad tho"
Shotcut does not lag if you use preview scaling and proxy. Both preview scaling and proxy are found under "settings" in Shotcut.
@@NomadFlow oh didn't know but I use kdenlive cuz it has lots and lots of features and I watched 21 episodes on a playlist on it so yeh and it's just easier to use idk how lol
Hi! How I came up with frei0r plugins for shotcut? I don't know how to code..
Hmmm not sure...
shotcut...is best
👍
i think shotcuts my favourite
I really enjoy using Shotcut!
Which one of these offers most editing features for free?
Hmmm not sure...
All of them! None of these programs have a paid version, so you can download them without any problem.
If you are asking which one has more features, i would recommend you to try DaVinci Resolve, which has a free version that many say that looks like Adobe Premiere.
OpenShot delays the audio of ALL my videos. Even though both video and profile has the same properties. So I had to uninstall.
Wow that's so odd!
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand I had more luck with Olive
How can i encode 16bit per channel (48bit) image sequence into 10bit x265 video?
Not sure on that :(
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand I found it out how i can. This is my slow X265 Placebo 50MBs 12bit 444 Zerolatency fastdecode Flac preset for short clips in Kdenlive "threads=0 s=1920x1080 r=30 f=mkv vcodec=libx265 preset=placebo vb=409600k pix_fmt=yuv444p12le tune=zerolatency tune=fastdecode acodec=flac ar=44100"
I can take even 96bit hdr image to Kdenlive, but 12bit video has range from 0 to 4095, but hdr has values between 0 to 1.
