I understand the hip problems. I think sitting on my ass for 30 years getting bounced around a truck was the main problem. last year I bit the bullet and had both hips replaced. best thing I ever did.
I'm having trouble with my right hip the last couple weeks hope I don't need a hip replacement just yet.
Driving with your wallet in your back pocket does it too.
Drove over the road for 35 years and 3.8 million miles and hips are fine.just saying
Mine was loading pallets by hand in my early 20's. Then working on concrete/standing for 8--16 hours a day. 2015 and 2017 two back surgeries. Not fun but it was worth it.

Keystone, SD has changed a lot. Many years ago, when it was a wide spot in the road, I roomed there over night in a private home. A gypsum plant nearby shook the walls twenty-four hours a day reducing large rocks to smaller ones, probably with a conical crusher. Keystone residents must have been deaf.
Was in the Black Hills in early 80s before my son was born and a few times after that.about 81 was in Deadwood and it was about 106 degrees.some wanted to go watch the shootout,i said go ahead,im going to sit in this saloon thats air conditioned and have a beer or 2 and when you are done come back,ill be here.

This fall take a ride on the 550 ( Million Dollar Highway) in Colorado in the fall the colors in the mountains amazing and beautiful. From Ouray ( try the hot springs and the water fall in box canyon) to Durango. Red Mountain pass is breathtaking.
Don’t remember all the wonderful noise on your previous trips. Great trip! Looked like a ton of fun, just a bit warm

--I rode the beartooth hwy back in 2003 ... started out in Cody WY, was 96 degrees F, on top of pass it was cold rain and sleet for little while, quite the change in temp, then in 90's again at Red Lodge MT; but it is one of the most scenic rides in the west. Thx for taking us along to Sturgis 2024, I think now I'll remove my earplugs. BSafe ... oh, and hope yr mom is feeling better.

You have basically "followed" our family vacation but in different order and two different trips. We went to SD, ND, WY, and CO this summer. Thanks for videoing your adventures and allowing us to see some of our favorite spots - RMNP and The Black Hills. Loved Sarah's shirt she wore home. We live in VA. 😃 (Three years ago, when we were headed home from vacation and going through NE, we saw your family heading west. That was pretty neat.) Again, thanks for sharing your adventures!!

I attended the rally every year from 1982 until about 2000 or 2001. Then work intruded and my riding/camping partner died of esophageal cancer and I stopped going.
I plan on riding out there for a few days in early September to ride with some local friends. 250 miles each way plus whatever we do while I am there.

my hip ached, i started strecthing and walking. go to a physical therapist. Unless it feels like someone hauled off and kicked you in the jewelry dept. Your nerves are pinched, not in need of a replacement.
Have you been to a hip Dr? I had hip replacement back in May. Not near as bad as it sounds. No more pain and it's wonderful.

Should've found that shirt for Troy, I had a few of those but I think my youngest son stole them from me when he came out to South Dakota for a visit 2 years ago 😂, oh well I swear that kid doesn't buy shirts whenever he comes home he just asks if he can have some of my stuff. Well Kurt, when will you and Sarah make the trips to Myrtle Beach and Daytona for the real rallies? Myrtle Beach near where I live is about 1400 miles and Daytona about 1520 from Sioux City. Now that the chillins are about gone, time to make some plans.

I was wondering why you didn't address the elephant in the room. All the stuff going on right now with Harley and woke culture/DEI and the majority or riders boycotting Harley right now.
They're not going to the Harley tent at Sturgis, removing shields from bikes and clothing, selling their bikes, etc.
Just wondering your thoughts on this and how noticeable it was this year?
And fyi I grew up with Harley and am just really upset with the direction the company is taking.

This may or may not be the recent Sturgis video where I heard this but on one of them recently, you said our Lord's name in vain. I've enjoyed most of your videos but for me, and my hubby-if you're going to start doing that, we will need to unsubscribe. We're not perfect but we want to enjoy watching videos for families and that don't insult our Lord. As far as it being non trucking content-we prefer trucking but it's been nice when you've included scenery and vacations as well.
STURGIS, S.D. - The South Dakota Highway Patrol on Sunday released its final Rally Tally Statistics report of the year.
The patrol reported no fatal crashes in the area Saturday, which means the final number of deaths on the year remain at 3.
There were two injury crashes investigated by the patrol on Saturday, sending the yearly total to 35. That is below last year’s 64. As for non-injury crashes, the patrol reported 54, which was down from last year’s 58.
As for drug arrests, the patrol listed 281 misdemeanor drug arrests and 163 felony drug arrests. Those numbers are up from last year’s 246 and 155 respectively.
D.U.I. arrests totaled 155 this year, up from last year’s 120.
Cash seized by the patrol was well ahead of last year. The patrol reported over $71,500 seized this year. Last year, the patrol only reported just over $2,000 was seized.
In Sturgis, police ended Saturday with 146 parking citations; 17 ahead of last year’s 129.
Sturgis Police also reported another 5 citations for underage consumption or possession of alcohol. That sends the total number through Saturday to 20.
Police also report a total of 43 fight and domestic disturbance calls this year.
In all, Sturgis Police listed 231 non-traffic arrests and 263 traffic arrests. The number of people booked into the Meade County Jail was 172 - ahead of last year’s 131 on this date
