That is awesome! Mine always drys with random pot holes. I use my torch for bubbles, and my heat gun. I don't know what I am missing!! Yours are always beautiful! Happy Thanksgiving!
Love how you can create such beautiful abstracts with very few colours. I love that blue abstract on the right. Is there a chance you will be doing a video for that one?
Monica l just love your work i think they are amazing. I was just wondering what causes my resin to get real hot and harden on me in my cups? Just really starting to use resin
R C Hi RC , yes east coast resin It dries vey clear . But I use art resin in the winter because I don’t have very good ventilation and it is non-toxic And in the summer I used East Coast resin you need very good ventilation for that though thanks for watching my video
Karen Burns Hi Karen yes you can absolutely do a hairdryer in a lot of my videos I do a hair dryer the problem is with a hairdryer it spreads the pigments out quite a bit so you cannot get the same effect
Wonderful! Thanks for letting us into your world! How do you stop the resin moving, once you have it where you want it? That’s an issue I have.......and it all turns into mud 😳
Ellen Mac When you use a heat gun or dryer and you mix it too much it will MadOut if you get the resin too hot it will keep moving for a while I like to blow dry it quick and get off of it. Hopefully that helps a little thank you so much for watching my video
Monica Barnes thank you, Monica! I keep trying. It seems that, if I get rid of the bubbles with heat gun / torch, it has already made it warm enough to keep it moving for hours. I will try to manipulate less! Thanks again!M
Veeda Dixon Hi Veeda, with the smaller canvas I found that it really doesn’t sag too much anything bigger I like to use wood Thank you so much for watching my video
If you mix just a very small amount of resin and use it to cover the canvas and leave it to set hard it will give a firm base for following layers and won’t sag.
Monica, I tried a pour with triple thick gloss gel instead of resin and it came out so nice. Almost as good as resin just not as glass looking but good enough. Do you know if it is as toxic as resin?
Geirthrudur Torbjornsdottir The sides I go over everything with my hand on the edges to make sure everything is clean and even I usually use the resin that has spilled off the board on to the table and I used that resin to do the sides
Keep up the good work! Also, do you prep your canvases? If you do, your canvases won't dip in the middle. We have a tutorial on it on our channel. Also, now I want to do a piece with black, yellow and white - thank you for the inspiration!
Artist Till Death Hi Monica ...just a new subscriber. Love what you do. Have never used resin and will look into that but would like to know, what torch you use.. So inspiring . Thank you.
Shirley Cooley try the heat gun that that is the best with smaller Pieces once you move into pieces over 3 feet you want to start using a blow dryer to push it around
Shirley Cooley Mica is a powder if you go under my description everything I’ve ever used on TH-cam is listed you can just click on the link it will take you right to any item you want on Amazon thanks so much

Beautiful work! Monica do you know of and cheaper alternatives to art resin? Something more affordable?
R C
Hi RC , yes east coast resin
It dries vey clear . But I use art resin in the winter because I don’t have very good ventilation and it is non-toxic
And in the summer I used East Coast resin you need very good ventilation for that though thanks for watching my video
Thank you Monica! :)
Do you know if it's possible to do this technique with a gloss varnish?
R C I really don’t know for sure sorry
Lovely! Could one use a hairdryer on high heat instead of a heat gun? 🤔
Karen Burns
Hi Karen yes you can absolutely do a hairdryer in a lot of my videos I do a hair dryer the problem is with a hairdryer it spreads the pigments out quite a bit so you cannot get the same effect

Hello Monica. Love your work! What do you call those stands that your canvases are sitting on? Where did you get them?
I got them at Home Depot in the paint section not sure what there called. Thanks so much for viewing my video
I love the color combo. Do you back your canvas to prevent the sag in the middle or is it not a problem with the smaller canvases?
Veeda Dixon
Hi Veeda, with the smaller canvas I found that it really doesn’t sag too much anything bigger I like to use wood Thank you so much for watching my video

I am not sure about that that’s why I wear a facemask and shield on my eyes now ❤️❤️
What heat gun are you using Monica? Amazing video
Beverley Main
I got it from home Depot it was the cheapest one they had
Beautiful!!!
DID you use resiblast ??
No I didn’t use resiblast
Thanks ❤️
How do you finish the edges ?
Geirthrudur Torbjornsdottir
The sides I go over everything with my hand on the edges to make sure everything is clean and even I usually use the resin that has spilled off the board on to the table and I used that resin to do the sides
Keep up the good work! Also, do you prep your canvases? If you do, your canvases won't dip in the middle. We have a tutorial on it on our channel. Also, now I want to do a piece with black, yellow and white - thank you for the inspiration!

Artist Till Death HI JEFF AND ERIKA! lol
Absolutely beautiful! I’m still studying, but I want to try this first! With your, is it mica Powder? I just subscribed to your email! ❤️
I noticed you use the gas to heat and the electric. I’m assuming the electric has more air to push! So if you only had one, at first?
Shirley Cooley try the heat gun that that is the best with smaller Pieces once you move into pieces over 3 feet you want to start using a blow dryer to push it around
Shirley Cooley
Mica is a powder if you go under my description everything I’ve ever used on TH-cam is listed you can just click on the link it will take you right to any item you want on Amazon thanks so much
